Radiant continued blocking her strikes, watching her movements "He's well enough here, no harm in getting an idea for an opponents movements." He said and as soon as he finished he brought his blade up clashing with Tyra's axe knocking it back for second.

 

Radiant brought in his second sword in from the side with the back of his blade come toward Tyra. Using the momentum from the weapon clash Tyra brought her axe back blocking Radiant's other sword. "Impressive, not many can use a clash recoil to their advantage." He said jumping back for a second bringing his other sword back at her from above.

Blizzard was getting bored, "Come on! Show a little technique! Technique Technique Technique! A little spice in your moves ponies come on! GO! GO! GO! GO! GO! Go Tyra, Go Raid!" Since he was bored, Blizzard thought he might as well try to enjoy himself.

Tyra flashed Radiant a smirk as she deflected the sword, and glanced up as the other blade began advancing toward her.

 

"We Shatterhoofs are no mere mindless barbarians!" She declared, hopping up and deflecting the sword with a mighty swing, grunting from the effort. The sword made a straight line to Radiant in the air, which he swiftly caught as it came inches from stabbing him in the nose.

 

Tyra glanced aside momentarily at Blizzard, snorting as his comments. He wanted a bit of flair? She'll show him some.

 

She came advancing at Radiant once again, this time turning to her side and skidding, using the momentum to leap into the air and come down toward the stallion with a rolling strike.

A technique she'd picked up on her travels; she didn't use it often, but it was rather effective most of the time she did.

"I agree. It needs to be faster. Much faster." caliber said. He looked at IB. "So, you ever been beaten, before?" he asked out of curiosity. He remembered the first time he was beat. Ruk was not a forgiving teacher. There was also shen, violet, and other wanderers. Caliber was one of the best, but he wasn't THE best.

After Tyra deflected his sword, he let it come close to him to cause a stir in everyone watching. He caught it an inch in front of his face, his expression returned to his usual serious self.

 

Tyra rushed again jumping into the air coming at Radiant with a rolling strike. Radiant watched Tyra coming down at him, he steadied his stance watching her axe closely.

 

As she was only less then a foot from severing Radiant's head, he was scared because she couldn't come back from the attack when suddenly her axe was caught with both of Radiant's swords in midair causing her to swing on her axe handle. Radiant side stepped Tyra swinging from her axe as he released her letting her fly forward.

Caliber raised an eyebrow. "Okay...alright...it's getting good." he looked over at ice blizzard, and stole that ice cube when he wasn't looking. He put it on his shoulder, and sighed. 'I wonder...is this gonna be permanentuh?' He thought. ''Nah, I recovered the other times. This time is no different.'

Blizzard was frank, "In my experiences, you're not 'beaten' until you stop trying. And there were some situations in which trying to hard would've gotten me killed. like against the changelings. I was there was I saw them invade and I would've been overwhelmed if not for the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. But mostly for me it's been either ties or wins."

Caliber looked at the sky. "Its not over when you lose. It's over when you quit." he remembered Ruk's teachings. He scarfed down more of his food, and thought. Would he have given up had reinforcements not arrived? Maybe...but not likely. His stubborn pride wouldn't allow that. "So, you've never lost? Only ties and wins?"

Blizzard replied, "Eh? Oh no, I've lost a lot when I first started to fight. But since then I've gotten better, and now it's mostly ties and wins, with the occasional loss due to my inferiority to my opponent. But that's just my experiences." *creates a tall and wide ice pedestal to sit on* come on up the view is amazing from up here!"

Caliber looked at the ice tower. Gritting his teeth, he jumped up on it(I'm thinking it's around 10+ feet high). Ouch. He sat up, abd looked around. "You know what? It is nice." caliber said. Pain was everywhere, but the ice was helping. "Who taught ya how to fight?" he asked.

Blizzard replied, "Uh, well mostly, I taught myself how to fight, but my mom was ann awesome fighter when she was younger. Nopony wanted to mess with her, and she would always protect her friends whenever they needed help. That's what she always told me, and now I'm here protecting my friends like you."

Soon Icarus emerged from his tent. His mask and Cloak once again donned for another day of work and saving ponies lives. Looking aroundd, he saw a small crowd gathered around two ponies. Of course, it was Tyra and Radiant having a duel to themselves. He cracked a small smile and decided to have a little watch before he moved on too the medical tent. They were both very good fighters, so it would be a tough calll on who would win.

Tyra let out a small yelp as Radiant caught her attack, sending her rolling through the air a bit more before she landed with a heavy thud. She blinked and shakily got to her hooves, dizzy from all the spinning, and shook her head to get her wits back about her. Somehow her helmet had managed to stay on her head the whole time, not even she knew how.

 

"Impressive, not many can deflect such a move," She smirked to her opponent, and dashed toward him, ready to unleash another barrage of strikes, "But I am not so easily defeated!"

Radiant remained his ground watching Tyra get to her hooves. She yelled out at him saying she wasn't so easily defeated. He glanced back for a second realizing his party members were getting bored and he remembeed they were to be meet somepony.

 

He looked forward back at Tyra blocking her first swing. As she came back for the second attack and swung, Radiant met her axe deflecting it down. He brought his other sword over his shoulder.

 

As Tyra reared up with her axe swinging out Radiant jumped back avoiding the blade and as her neck was exposed he brought his sword from over his shoulder and ran the back of his sword gently across her neck.

Tyra froze, huffing and puffing as Radiant's blade came dangerously close to her neck. She was strong and durable, to be sure, but not even she was safe from decapitation.

 

She swallowed some air as the blade's tip traced across her neck.

 

"Well played," she panted, and loosened her teeth, letting her axe drop to the ground with a thud, "very well, I surrender."

 

If this were a duel to the death against anypony else, she would certainly still be fighting, but in a spar against a companion, she had no qualms about admitting defeat.

Radiant grinned at her not, the grin wasn't smug but of enjoyment. "it was fun, I'd love to keep going but I remembered we have some pony to meet with and we already kept them waiting." He said dispelling all four of his swords. "Maybe next time I'll just use one sword and hold it in my mouth," he said with a smirk.

 

Radiant left the training area looking at the others "come on we should leavE, we have somepony to meet. Grab any supplies you need and meet me here." Radiant said walking off to only refill his canteens with water.

Icarus nodded at the two. " Quite a good duel you had there. Either one could have one. And luckily I wasnt needed in it" ICarus said, giving off his attempt at a joke. IT had been interesting to watch, as both of them had unique fighting styles. Tyra used one found in a lot of northern cultures, while it seemed Radiant was a bit more of a defensive player. 

 

After hearing Radiants statement, he nodded again in acknowledgement.

Tyra snorted at his little comment with a smirk of her own, before lighting up with excitement.

"Another adventure, is it?" She asked, picking up her axe and propping it back in its harness, "I shall prepare myself right away then!"

 

She trotted out of the training arena, the ponies watching the event clearing the way for her and commending her on the fight. Her little fans were really impressed, and some even asked her about that 'really cool rolling attack she did'.

 

After promising she'd tell them later, she returned to her tent and looked around for anything she might need. That note was of no use to her and the box of rations was still empty. Though the water would do her good.

 

She grabbed the bottle and walked outside, twisting the lid off and taking a small sip of it to rehydrate herself. The rest was poured all over her, like a crude shower.

"Aah, refreshing!" She grinned.

 

She got up and shook herself off like a wet dog before trotting back up to Radiant.

"Once I have had something to eat, I will be ready!" She declared, and then took a look around. "Once I have found the food tent, that is..."

Blizzard jumped down from his tower and spoke to Tyra, he was smug, "Always hungry eh? Can't really blame you, but if it had been me out there it'd be over before it could begin! Ah ha ha!" Little did Tyra know, this was an indirect challenge from Blizzard to duel later on. "As for you Raid I don't know. We seem like an even match....."

Tyra let out a snort at Blizzard's smug little attitude. "I have not had any breakfast yet, this morn. It is wise to start the day with one, but my plans had been changed due to there not being a fishmonger's stand in the city anymore." A slight twinge of sadness sneaked into her voice at the last part.

 

A dark smirk crept onto her face and she faced the blue earth pony.

"I hope that is not implying you would defeat me just because I am a girl," she warned, getting right in his face, "because I shall warn you, many stallions have made that mistake. One, who was twice your size, I nearly broke the leg of with my bare hooves."

 

She turned to look up to Radiant. "So, for where are we bound today?"

Radiant continued waiting at the training as some of the foals from the crowd came into the area. "Sir can we see your swords again?" One of the foals asked, Radiant recognized the foal from the other day.

 

Radiant grinned at the foals "sure you can," he said pulling his hilts out of his bag manifesting the blades.

 

"See I told you they were cool, better then some dull metal axe." One the foals exclaimed.

 

"Nah uh, Tyra's axe is way cooler, these things are magic they could even cut Tyra when they were dueling." Another foal argued.

 

"Well actually they are quite sharp, I was using the backs against her. I'm not about to cut a companion to ribbons." He added with a smirk.

 

The foal took a step forward looking at Radiant "prove it," he challenged with a smug look on his face.

 

Radiant smirked floating all four blades above one another. He turned to the training dummies and quickly ran all four blades through one of the dummies.

 

As the blades were clear of the dummy it fell apart into four pieces that fell off the post. The foal looked at awe at the dummy "whoa,"

 

"See told you his weapons are cooler." Exclaimed the foal from earlier.

Blizzard replied still smug and gathering his belongings, "Hehe, oh no no. Seriously I'd never underestimate a mare. I mean, 6 mares saved Equestria like 3 or for times! But uh I'd probably be able to hold my own against ya. *cracks neck and stretches forelegs*" He then gets all of his stuff and makes an ice saddlebag. "You ready to go? Axe mare?" *stifles laughter*

Radiant looked Tyra who approached him looking rather irritated by Blizzard. "Once Caliber is ready we can head off to.meet this mystery pony that wants to see us." Radiant said looking around "I don't know where Tybalt is, the fighting in the city.has died down so I'm not sure why the others hadn't returned."

Tyra nodded at Radiant's answer, and grinned as she noticed the foals all gathering around once again. Radiant gave them all a little show with his swords once more.

 

She chuckled as she overheard a pair of them arguing over whether his swords, or Tyra's axe, were the better weapons. Since Radiant showed off his swords again, why not she with her axe?

She trotted up to the foals, smirking. "So, one of you thinks my blade is the better weapon?

"Yeah!" The foal in question squeaked, "Prove how cool it is!"

 

Not one to decline a challenge, especially from a child, she trotted into the training area and readied her blade against a training dummy.

She gave an upward swing, impaling the dummy's middle into one of the blades, and she hopped in the air with a roll, bringing the dummy crashing down hard to the ground, sending a small vibration through the earth. Upon impact, the dummy shattered into pieces.

 

"Wow!" The foal gasped, and nudged his friend. "Told you, way cooler than magic!"

 

With a proud smirk, she returned to her companions, bringing her axe back to its harness, and glanced at Blizzard.

"I am obviously more than ready to go, snowball."

Blizzard smiled and waved to his now decent-sized fanbase over by the camp. And to Tyra he replied confidently, "Whatever viking girl, but compared to me you're stuck on the ground. You gotta give yourself some flexibility *jumps high in the air and lands* or your enemy will always predict your moves. Sporadicness Tyra. Sporadicness is key. Stops 'em cold in their tracks!" *blasts snow a Tyra's hooves* "Ah ha ha!"
