"Well, each of us has a different specialty. I specialize in support magic and anything noncombat while Raven specializes in everything combat related. This includes telekinesis and materializing objects. You could say we're each a fourth of what Legacy is. Even together, we wouldn't be able to do half of what she can do. Your specialty is summoning demons only or do you have something else in addition to that?"

"Impressive. As for me, I used to be able to do alot. I am not only able to summon, but I was able to read minds, and I had the power of life and death."

"Are you sure you lost those powers!"

"I honestly have no clue. If i still have them, I forgot how to use it."

"Maybe you'll remember eventually. So where do 'humans' come from?"

Nidal looked at Larva.

[Finesthour 7,287]

Larva closed his eyes.

"A terrible place honestly. Imagine everyone trying to kill everyone else for their own personal gain. It is one of the reasons I was a guardian."

Atom walked into Gizmo's room, scanner and his Rematerializer in saddlebags.

"Okay, now this scanner works two ways. One to store data, and one for remateriaizing. Let's put the battery in."

"Creatures do that here to but only a fraction of them. And um... what's a guardian?"

 

Gizmo gave him the battery.

"And what about the material to be converted?"

"I protected a woman with my life."

Nidal rose her eyebrow.

"And what is a guardian?"

"Ah, I have that."

Atom levitated a labeless, empty glass bottle from his bags. He put the battery in and then plugged in the scanner.

"See these switches here? The one on the machine is, of course, for power."

Atom flicked it. The machine glowed a soft blue.

"The two on the scanner are for power..."

He flicked the one on the left. The scanner hummed.

"...and this next one is special! If you turn it left, it will scan to save the object in it's databanks. Turn it right, and it will scan a piece of an object so it will rematerialize using measurement data from it's memory. Observe..."

Atom placed the bottle on the scanner and flicked the right switch left. He pressed a button that said 'SCAN' and so it did.

"Now let's test and see if the bottle will rematerialize."

Atom smashed the glass bottle against the wall. He levitated a shard onto the scanner. He flicked the right switch right. He pressed the 'SCAN' button again. A beam shot out from the machine. It held up the glass shard that was on the scanner. The beam held it above the scanner. Then, slowly but surely, a new bottle formed from the shard. The rest of the old bottle was still scattered from the room.

"I-it... WORKED!!"

[Linguz 140]

Gizmo hit his face with his hoof.

"Matter cannot be created. Where did the new glass come from? You just converted something in my room into your new glass. I'm not sure what but that's why I told you that you need materials as well."

Gizmo picked up a glass shard and a small cup on his shelf. He brought both pieces close to the scanner. He opened the scanner and changed somethinga inside, then put what looked like a screen through a hole he made at the top.

"There. Now the scanner will take whatever is on it."

He put the cup on the scanner's screen.

"And convert that to generate what you want to fix."

He flicked the switch. The cup disappeared as the glass regenerated.

"It will use all the mass on it or will keep working until the item is back to it's original form. As you can see, the cup is gone and the glass here is still partilly chipped."

He grabbed some of the shards off the floor and put them on the screen. The glass shards partially disappeared while the glass item got back to it's full form.

"Now please get out. I need to find what the scanner stole from me when you first fixed the bottle."

"Whatever you say. I didn't steal anything from you."

Atom left for his room.

*He mustn't know of my discovery. I'll tell him in time, but for now...*

Atom was in the confinement of his room. He took off his wig that hid his baldness from cancer.

*Only that Legacy pony will know.*

"It is someone who protects a life with their own."

He looked down.

Nidal put her hoof back on Larva.

"What are you sad about? You saved someone, isn't that good?"

He shook his head violently.

"No! No I did not. It is all my fault that we are here, that she is gone.."

[Linguz 140]

Nidal began to rub his back.

"Come on, calm down. What do you mean with it being your fault?"

"I allowed us to be taken... I allowed her to leave..."

[Linguz 140]

Nidal hit him on the shoulder.

"It was not your fault she killed herself. If anyone is to blame, blame whoever she loved. If I recall correctly, it was mentioned that she killed herself because of his death."

Larva started to laugh in a crazy way.

"You think that I would protect my sister with my blood? No, it was my master who I had lost."

[Linguz 140]

Nidal shrugged.

"You didn't mention anyone so I just thought it was your sister. So what happened to your master?"

[Finesthour 7,287]

He stopped laughing and closed his eyes.

"That's just it. I... don't know."

[Linguz 140]

Nidal put her hooves around him.

"If she's in this world, I'm sure you'll find her. If you need any help, we're all here for you."

"That is one of the reasons I joined in the first place."

[Linguz 140]

Nidal smiled.

"Then even more reason to pull yourself together. If you break down, you won't be able to look for her."
