Aidan OGain 112 April 5, 2015 Share April 5, 2015 My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Twilight SparkleHow did you find MLP Forums?: Google. I know, booring, right? I went searching. And then I found it. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I'm a general geek. I like Star Trek, Babylon 5, Dr. Who... the list goes on and on. Anyway, so I go into this store and I see this pony version of The Doctor. And I says to myself, I says, "Aidan, I don't believe you've ever seen a pony Timelord before. Why don't you check out this My Little Pony thing." The rest was a downward spiral into obsessive oblivion. My day job is not interesting to read about. As a hobby, I write Sci-fi. I've written a few short stories, some poetry, some good, some terrible. To be truthful I'm no good at evaluating the state of my work. I'm currently working on my first novel. I'm in the process of world-building, which is long, involved, and requires me to know all the things. So I'm in a research black hole and I don't know if I'll ever see light again. I also have a podcast. I'm the co-host for the Brony Quest podcast, which goes through every episode of MLP:FiM and examines them for the deep philosophical meaning behind rainbows and cupcakes. Also I like tea. Tea is delicious. I hope to find some friends to talk to about MLP around here. So please say hello and be my friend... 5 Just so you know, I've got a podcast. She's smart, she's caring and you end up really caring about her. Ditzy is cool, too. But I gotta hand it to the writing chops for team Twilight. XD And indeed, in addition to her knowing of history, dedication to knowledge and fascination with the stars, if I was the Doctor I would think of no finer companion to choose. Aidan OGain 112 April 7, 2015 Author Share April 7, 2015 (edited) For me it was her dedication to learning. She's coming to Ponyville on a mission from her teacher. That was one of the first hooks that drew me into the show itself and not just coming to it trying to find the geek references. Then a geek references would happen and also the show took itself just seriously enough. There were no obvious lapses. The other characters were strong. And they were brave enough to confront those character's really cringe-worthy obstacles. And then I bought a plush Twilight Sparkle, who my wife immediately claimed. Oh yeah, Thanks Dingo Dash and Random Guy! An amazing selection of teas you have here. I think I'll go for this Taiwanese Gui Fei Oolong. It's been a little while since I've had it. Last one had some natural pineapple notes in it! The honey-honeydew cupcake will pair nicely with it. Thanks for the treats!
