Yes, goal tending is a big thing it seems, where did the Caps get Holtby? seems to be a pretty good goalie.

Holtby was called up from AHL Hershey Bears, the Caps' affiliate, I think.

You should see smith in the blackhawks series, he was the only reason the coyotes won

LETS GO COYOTES!

Hmm so far all my predictions except for Nashville v Phoenix seem to be on track

That Mike Smith...

Oh well if preds can consistently do 42 shots a game they should be able to win the series

Thats what they said for chicago, look who wn that series.

Aww dammit, Devils win again. The Courtship of Zach "Pimpin' Ain't" Parise is dealt another blow.

HOWEVA, The Flirtation for Ryan "One T Not Two" Suter can heat up quickly.

Way to go Future Nordiques! Up 3-1 on Smashville.

The fourteen minutes concluded a long time ago. The Coyotes beat the Preds, 2-1, and won the series, four games to one. They'll have home-ice advantage against a stubborn Los Angeles Kings squad, who are VERY good even though their record doesn't show it.

The Coyotes have been a really good team all year long, but we never got to see them because they were overlooked in the media. Now with their two playoff series wins, they're making a very huge statement for not only the NHL, but the state of Arizona, too. Playoff series victories along with a great team can result in a big fanbase. Combine that with the preliminary ownership agreement, we may have a team in Phoenix for some time.

As for the Kings, they're a very dangerous team. They have several good players, but didn't show that good of a record in the regular season. They fired their head coach earlier in the year and scrapped for the eighth spot. Now they're playing their best hockey, and Jonathan Quick has been excellent as the goalie. I expect this to go seven games.

Nah, this run won't save Phoenix. It's going to take a white knight owner riding in on the 11th hour to keep them in Arizona. In my mind they're already the Quebec Nordiques for 2012-2013.

I'm rooting for the Kings because a market like Los Angeles winning would help the NHL's national appeal a lot more than the Phoenix market would.

I love how the 8 seed knocked out the top two seeds in the western conference... Bring on the 3 seed!

I like both the Kings and the Coyotes, so I'll be rooting for whoever wins the western conference.

The Rangers/Capitals games sure have been great, though. It would be amazing if the Caps knock off the Rangers in game 7 Saturday!

I'm just no good at writing signatures. Coming up with words is like... really hard.

However, you should read The Espelancer Chronicles: a blog detailing my preparations leading up to and my experiences studying at The Yamasa Institute in Okazaki, Japan (in the Aichi prefecture outside of Nagoya) for a 1-month SILAC course from July 16 - August 16, 2012.

Can't believe the Kings are 1 win away from the Cup Finals. They definitely peaked at the right time. If its them vs. Devils I'll root for Kings, but if it's the Rangers, I gotta stick with the fellow Original 6ers, the Rangers.

Well there we have it, Kings vs. Devils

Kings are way too hot to lose now. I'm rooting for them. I also believe this Cup run helps keep Parise stay put in NJ.

One really key piece of history for this year's Finals. This matchup will guarantee the lowest seed to ever win the Stanley Cup since the NHL began the one-to-eight-seed format in 1994. Prior, the lowest seed to win the Cup was the five-seed 1995 Devils sweeping Detroit. The Kings are an eight seed, the Devils a six seed.

As for my prediction, the Kings in six.

This thread's been here for how long and I have not noticed it?

Anyways, all I can say that it seemed to be an exciting year for all teams, and I'm happy for my Jets for having a successful first year back as a new franchise. I'm all for the Kings in the finals.

I was wanting the Jets to make it to the playoffs this year, would've been pretty awesome!

Yeah, kinda dissapointing, but still glad for them. :) Amazing how they could gain a fan for being a bandwagon-jumping sucker for revived franchsies! lol

Also, I think with the new eastern-western conference division system being introduced next year, there is a possibility where the Winnipeg and Phoenix can compete in the finals, of they both make it.

....or was that this year, and I guess they just missed their opportunity? :|
