Consider this; a big renaissance fair looking thing, with stalls for food and entertainment around outside the front of the arena, so patrons and fighters are kept busy between fights

 

 

All of this, but we did decide on stairs with eventual elevators.

 

Also yea I'd rather it be more round, with places around it. By the map Peyton made there's more inside non arena places than the Arena space itself. Even if it does gave magical infinite space inside the Arena proper.

I think it depends on the arena. Red, my OC, an earth pony, went into a fight against a pegasus on a river arena. Naturally, Red lost.

But regardless, basically what Asbel is saying is that Earth Ponies can't hold their own in a fight and are at a complete disadvantage compared to the other races, which is not true. -_-
