zenru seemingly appeared out of nowhere next to night, with an extremely annoyed face. "now...why dont we talk about how you didnt say sorry?" he asked.

 

his voice was still calm, but it was intimidating at the same time. his hoof itched to teach this rude pony a lesson, but the wiser side of him reasoned there might be an explanation.

Blizzard had managed to catch up to them both and saw Pinkie. "Hi Pinkie. I see you've met our friend Night Tracer. Excuse me Pinkie. Come on, get up." He picked NT up onto his hooves, "Whew. You alright? I mean everypony that meets Pinkie should be alright but you're not hurt are you? And also, why were you running so much dude? What happened with the princesses?"

"Luna." Was all Princess Celestia said as she watched him go. But her words were wasted; Luna was already gone.

 

She raced through the shadows on the ground, the darkness being her home and her element. Tracing his magical signature, she moved directly towards him, and the unfamiliar magical signatures that were congregating around him.

 

She quite literally popped up out of the ground as she appeared, but she had no time to gauge the other ponies reactions.

 

"It is nothing that concerns thee, Ice Blizzard," Luna said crisply. "But we would like to talk to the one you call Night Tracer. Privately."

 

She put no amount of force on those words.

From a distance, Strix leaned against the wall and watched as that blue loudmouth was talking up this newcomer, when two more mares showed up. Some pink one with no sense of personal space, and a darker one who literally popped out of the ground in a dark haze.

 

For a pony, he had to admit, that was pretty cool.

 

Nonetheless, he still kept an eye out for any trouble...or any bounties.

Night Tracer gulped, Night hung his head in shame then got to thinking, "She, is addressing you Night... I JUST got here and I've already screwed up. Excellent. Wait... I have some important information..." 

 

Night looked up at Luna and into her beautiful blue eyes, his heart melted but then he shook his head and snapped back into reality. "Wait, before we discuss the matter at hand you must do something for me... in private."

zenru noticed luna appear. and he sighed.

 

as the strongest swordspony in equestria, he was bound to assist the princesses in any way possible. it was in his papers that said he was the strongest. he briefly wondered if caliber was bound in the same way, but he decided not to dwell on that.

 

"why, hello there, luna." he said, as he took his place at her side. and when night made the request, he once again frowned. "im afraid thats not your command to make." he said sternly, "luna wants to speak to you in private, and you will do so."

I, Princess Celestia, along with Princess Luna, hereby sign this document that claims Zenru is the Best Swordspony from winning the Swordspony Tournament held in Canterlot as of January 13th, 201. This document is meant to serve as proof of his claim, until as such time he is beaten by another swordpony. Should he be defeated in combat involving swords, Zenru is required to hand this document over to whoever beat him. This does not apply if he was ambushed, or any other type of unsportsmanlike actions done in order to beat Zenru. 

 

As the strongest swordspony, he is automatically put on reserves should we ever need his skill in combat to fight any threats to Equestria. Should he disagree with this at any time, he will be required to give this document back to Princess Celestia, Luna, or Cadence, and he will also be stripped of his title, along with being banned from ever participating in the Swordspony Tournament ever again.

 

He is also expected to side with the princesses if he should ever be in their presence. He is expected to protect the princesses from any danger, no matter how fierce, unless told otherwise by the princesses. 

 

The holder of this document has the title "The Strongest Swordspony in Equestria," as long as this document was obtained fairly.

Blizzard fell onto the ground when he saw Luna out of nowhere, "Ah! What the buck?! Oh, Princess Luna." He then heard her say something about speaking to NT in private, "Wait what?! This guy just got here and now you need him? I must be missing something here. I...wha-- grr....you gotta be kidding me!! Goddammit! Buck this I'm gone, I need time to cool off and wrap my head around what just happened here. Because this is....ah buck sorry, I gotta go." Blizzard then tied his scarf around his head, and skated off back to the training grounds to think.

Night Tracer looked back at Zenru and spoke, "I believe i may hold a little more power than you think Zenru, and I believe Princess Luna would agree." Night Tracer Winked at Luna. "So, how about that ch-chat" he stuttered.  

 

As he walked off, he motioned for Luna to folllow

"you dont know who your talking to, so ill let that slide." he said, voice icy. "but you'd be wise to not talk to me -or luna- like that ever again."

Night Tracer stopped and grinned, "I apologize, believe it or not i have much respect for Princess Luna but that doesn't mean i won't use what i have to get what i want. Even if that means being a bit bold. As much as I would love t stay and chat, I think their are more important matters that need to be addressed."

 

Night Tracer turned away from Zenru and continued walking once again.

The princess of the night itself was taken aback; was this pony truly attempting to bargain with her? She took a brief moment to take in and remember the sight of the pony so brave... and so foolish, before finally speaking.

 

"Hold, Zenru," she said sternly, before turning back to Night Tracer.

 

"I accept your proposal." she said simply. "But there's no need to walk to go somewhere private," she added, as she walked up next to him. She draped a wing over him. "The shadows will do just fine, if thou art willing."

Night Tracer stepped in front of Luna and faced her

 

"Of course, wherever you please your majesty." Night bowed before her then looked back up at her and chuckled. "I apologize, i'm not one for formality."

 

"So, what is it that you would wish to talk about," he asked playfully. He knew damn well what she was going to address him about but it just wasn't in him to be serious right now. He was gushing on the inside like an unicorn filly first using magic. He couldn't collect himself for long.

zenru narrowed his eyes. "im going to assume you want to speak to him in private, right?" he asked, "should i wait here, or should i leave?"

 

he was still irked by the way that pony addressed luna. he would have no problem with it if he had known luna beforehand, but he had just met her, and was already trying to tell her what to do.

 

he didnt like that, but luna said to stand down. lucky him.

Blizzard was a bit angry due to being left out of the info circle. But he knew he had to calm down and think. He went back to the training grounds, made an ice pillar up high, sat on it, closed his eyes and activated his mindscape and thought, "Hmm..let's think for a moment here. NT was running away from the princess' door. Why? Well there are multiple possibilities: 1. He probably messed up talking to them. But I think they would have been inviting and have asked him to stay or Luna wouldn't have needed to follow him if he didn't wanna talk. So that's a rule-out. 2. He probably overheard something they said. Which would explain how frantic he was. 3. He choked, and never entered. I doubt that because A. Luna wouldn't have followed him here due to her not knowing he was there. B. Even if she did have to follow him here, I don't think it'd be neccesary for a private talk. So that's a rule-out as well." Blizzard walked around within his mindscape and ruled the most likely explanation, "He overheard something for sure. Now if so, what did he hear? Well, based on Luna's offer to go in private, it must've been something huge. Bad or perhaps embarrasing. Something she probably didn't want to let anypony know about. Something extremely dangerous maybe, llike A. he heard personal info from the princesses. B. a threat. C. a dark secret. " He thought for a long moment on what he just 'said' in his mind, "Hmm...I doubt that'd be the case. The princesses are very capable. But You never know it could be a possibility due to the princess' interesting behavior the last time I spoke to them. They did seem like something was off especially Luna." He began to walk around some more within his mind, "I don't know for sure, but until I get some confirmation, this speculative theory is all I got at this point. It seems very VERY possible almost to the point of likely. And based on what I've seen and gathered for myself. I deduce that's the most probable explanation. But I'd better keep it to myself. There's too many ears open around here....." And with that, Blizzard opened his eyes, exited his mindscape, and continued to think atop his pillar and then he said aloud, "And I know just how to get that confirmation if I wanted it...."

Kazas embraced Darkrai as she had embraced him. A small sense of joy was coming over him. It felt good, at least to Kazas, to comfort others when needed. Not only that, but Kazas, for whatever reason... just wanted to be near Darkrai. At the very least, he wanted to be there if and when he was needed. Prehaps he was imprinting on Darkrai? He didn't know, nor care. All that was important, was letting her know that she is not alone in this world.

 

An idea crept into Kazas's head. Not only did Ezerepth grant him acess to an incredible sway over flame, but also granted Kazas the power to use his own life energy to heal the wounds of others. Granted, Darkrai was not injured, from as far as he could tell, but the divine healing process also gave others a feeling while receving treatment from it, often stating that it felt as though it felt like a pure wave of concern and caring from an outside force had hit them, and had not only healed physical wounds, but helped emotionally as well, if only for a tiny moment.

 

Suddenly, a white, flame-like energy started to emanate from Kazas. It was his very own life-energy, granted from his soul. It slowly engulfed the pair gently. It had a warm, peaceful feel to it. Not a single ounce of a wish to harm another. This was indeed, a reflection of Kazas's soul. This was divine healing.

 

" Do not be alarmed, Darkrai..."

 

He said gently.

 

" this is but the divine healing ability that I am granted through my covenant with Ezerepth. I've heard it said that it provides emotional comfort as well, in addition to being able to heal grevious physical wounds. Darkrai, I just want to let you know that you never need to stand solo, Okay? I can only imagine what it is like to have walked the road you have. But you needn't tread it alone. After all, the road is more than wide enough for multiple beings to stand side by side. Most roads are, are they not?"

 

Kazas said, smiling. The divine healing drained him slightly, but for Darkrai, it was more than worth it.

She saw Lorec order another drink from Applejack, and she slammed her glass in front of her to do the same. The slam caused everything on the table to rustle a bit.

"Attack me also!" She yelled.

Applejack poured, with extreme difficulty; she was so blitzed about 10% of the bottle ended up on the table. But still, she managed a full glass for each of them.

 

"This is our last bottle, and I reckon we're all just a few shots away from being passed out drunk. So, while we're still conscious, i'd like to make a toast to you guys."

 

She raised her glass up in the air.

 

"To drinking buddies!" she said, before slamming the cup back.

"If I require your assistance, I will be sure to call upon you, Zenru. But for now, you may leave."

 

 

She turned to Night Tracer. "Let us be off." With that, her horn glowed, and the two of them sank into the ground, and into darkness itself.

 

 

It was the world of Shadows, Luna’s home away from home. But from an outsider’s perspective, it could hardly be called that. It was seemingly nothing but an infinite black void, devoid of color, sounds, and life, though if one knew their way around the place, they would find paths that unfolded to many, many places. Still, it was desolate; even light refused to enter this place, although thanks to magic, Night Tracer would still be able to see the Princess, as well as walk around as though there was solid ground beneath him

 

 

It was here that she spoke to him.

 

 

"Bravery is a trait I admire very much," she opened up with. "But it is also smart to know one's limits." she said sternly, "You know very well what we wish to talk about. But first, we would hear your proposal," she said, looking down at the stallion.

zenru nodded. "make sure he learns not to trifle with those who are stronger then him." he said, before she left.

 

after she disappeared into the ground, he turned away, and continued his wandering.

 

"ponies these days...they have no sense of respect..." he muttered.

Blizzard was still sitting atop his pillar when he had begun to think some more on the suspicion. "Hmmm.... I already went over that it could be either A. Serious Personal Biz B. A threat. or C. A dark secret. Hm...is it possible that it could be 2 of those? Or worse, ALL 3?! Dear Celestia, this gets more and more interesting by the minute. I wonder if anypony else has any ideas. But who to ask.....? The least obvious pony....." He got up from his pillar, slid down, and began to walk around. "Who to ask about something imminent?"

 

Then he was suddenly called out by a pony in the shade, "Psst hey kid!"

 

"Huh?"

 

"Yeah you blue kid over here. I got something for ya."

 

"Huh? N-no thanks sir."

 

"Then I guess you're not interested in my array of potions and weapons."

 

"Hmm...what kind of 'potions and weapons' are we talking about here?"

 

"Follow me...." The mysterious pony led Blizzard to his potion/weapon shop. "Welcom to Residentially Evil Pete's Weapons and Potions. What ya boyin'?"

 

"Wow, you have a LOT of neat stuff here." Blizzard said as he looked in awe among Pete's stock, "Ooh. How much for the invisibility potion?"

 

"Since your my first customer, this one's on the house for ya. Just make sure you tell your friends about my shop so I can earn business got it?"

 

"Yes I will." Blizzard said as he put the invisibility potion in his ice saddlebag. He then noticed something else. The word 'Information = 10000 bits' was on his list of items and prices, but crossed out. "Information? You sell info for 10000 bits? I don't get it."

 

Pete noticed that on his list, and whispered, "Listen kid, there's some weird stuff going on around here. And I'll only share such info with somepony who's got enough money. If you can get me 10000 bits kid, I'll tell ya what I know. But until then, don't mention that to anypony." He then cuts the information bit off his sign and speaks normal, "Anything else ya want?"

 

Blizzard was interested in Pete's offer but was shocked at having to earn 10000 bits in order to know anything, "Uh, no thanks, I'm good. Thanks for the invisibility stuff. And I'll be sure to tell my friends about you, see ya!" Blizzard said as he walked off.

 

"Come back anytime...."

 

Blizzard walked back to his ice pillar, sat on top, and thought some more, "Hmm.....that guy knows something. It looks like I'll need 10000 bits to know what he knows. If I do that, then I'll FINALLY get some answers around here....."

Night Tracer opened his eyes to See Luna right in front of him, but that's all he could see. All around was black nothingness, he swallowed hard and almost began hyperventilating but he figured out very quickly that he was in no danger. 

 

Night Tracer then listened to what, Luna had to say, 

 

 

 

"Bravery is a trait I admire very much, But it is also smart to know one's limits. You know very well what we wish to talk about. But first, we would hear your proposal,"

 

 

Night Tracer first addressed his behavior, "I apologize for my behavior. It's just me being who I am, besides I haven't really talked all too much to anypony except for a few close relatives in a little over a decade besides small talk here and there." Night Tracer explained then started up again, "My proposal is different than what you might think. I want to help you... and your sister. I want to play a part in this plan. And yes, I heard ALL of it." Night Tracer looked at his hoof and dragged it across the eternal abysmal blackness beneath him. He couldn't continue to face her, "I apologize for listening in on your conversation, it was wrong of me but I quite honestly... Wanted to speak with you." He paused and stared up at Luna. Her beautiful sapphire blue eyes glistened oddly enough, perhaps it was because it was the brightest thing in the eternal darkness. "See... you use to come give lectures at the University i attended, and they...  were what drove me to keep pressing forward through such a rough time for me; I was away from what little family i had... I was working strenuous hours and i got very, very little sleep. But one day when you first came to speak and i attended the lecture and what you spoke of inspired me.  It encouraged me to push forward. Every time you came to speak i would listen to your lectures just to get me through, 'just a little bit more' and 'another few steps' and so if it weren't for you then i wouldn't of been able to get through, not only University but life itself. I may of given up but ironically you were my shining light. And I owe to you to help so whatever it is you need, let me know. I owe you everything whether you realize it or not."

 

Night Tracer was still staring into Luna's eyes which must of been a tad bit awkward for Luna, Night Tracer just stared at her, longingly. But he finally came to his senses and shook his head back and forth vigorously. He couldn't recall a thing he had just said, that happened time to time whenever he would just stop thinking for a bit. That seemed to work for him, whenever he stopped thinking and just let his heart speak. Eventually he came to and realized what he had said. His general light blue coat flushed but he managed to keep his bright red blush from showing.

Blizzard was still in deep thought, "Hmm...that guys didn't really help me much. I need to ask somepony with connections.....The Elements of Harmony! Of course why didn't I think of it before?! They should know something if the princesses know. But who to ask? Hm....Applejack and Rainbow Dash are probably still drunk from last night. They'll have no memory whatsoever if I ask them. But how to ask....." He got up and ran towards the bar, looking inside, seeing AJ and, "Yes! They're still here. Now I just need to word my question properly....." He thought once again for a long time within his mindscape, "Let's see, what exactly do I wanna know here? Why the princesses are acting so strange? If any kind of threat has been made? Is this all just a bad joke?" He exited his mindscape, back to reality, "Hmm...I got it!" Blizzard ran to the bar doors and bursted through, "Hmph quiet crowd we got here...." He spotted AJ and, "Aha!" "Oh there's Lorec and Axe girl. Eh, they'll be too drunk to remember either..." He walked over and took a seat by RD and put some bits on the counter,  H-hi, there  Applejack. I wanted to ask you something. Do you two happen know anything about, oh I don't know, say a possible threat that hangs in the balance or why Luna and Celestia seem to be acting so strange? As if they were....apprehensive?"

Kazas smiled and and eased up on the embrace, but still held her close. Looking her in the eyes with only his one, he answered her declaration.

 

" And your feelings are reciprocated, Darkrai. I feel the exact same way. It's almost strange. We have only just met, and yet I must confess that I am enthralled by you... And why wouldn't I give you a chance? Everyone deserves a chance. Every soul is precious and has the potential to become something great. You are living proof of that, Darkrai. And I will thank the All-Maker everyday for allowing our paths to intertwine."

Lorec was struggling to bring the glass to his mouth, but did manage. He drank the Blod,and slammed the glass on the table.

His speech was slurred badly, and it was clear that he had almost had enough. Even still, he just had to remain upright, since he was still in competition. With the others... how were they still up? Their wills must be exceedingly strong. He smiled.

 

Tyra was the one.

 

The one he had waited for, truly.

 

The battle where he would finally put everything behind him, and would sever the chains that bind.

 

The fight in which he would have no guilt in enjoying.

 

The fight that would prove that he was not only capable, but worthy of defending his allies.

 

Worthy of being his daughter's father.

 

He smiled sentimentally. It would come very soon, for him. He would pour every bit of his might into the fight with Tyra. And he would certainly pray that she would do the same.

Darkrai was holding back her tears the best she could due to the overwhelming love she had for this griffon. It was clear to her at that very moment in her life, nothing mattered more to her than this...exact..moment. Her most cherishable moment in where she found somepony who understood her and had feelings for her. "This has been the most amazing experience in my entire life. Thank you. Follow me, I think I have an idea to where we should be looking next." She then begins to walk in another direction, seemingly towards an open field filled with flowers and somewhat away from the arena itself.

caliber had slept in. like, really overslept.

 

he got up, yawned, put on his cape, buckled in his sword, and started doing his morning (afternoon? (night??)) excersices. when he was done with that, he went outside, in search of adventure.
