Text in quotations different than text in post

I don't have a picture, but this has happened twice in the last two days.

I am reading a post. I click the reply button. Then, in the editor, the text in the quotations is slightly different than the original post. Such as "didn't" instead of "did". I thought this might be because the person writing the post edited it before I replied and after I loaded the page, but if I refresh the page, the text in the post is still not the text that was in the quotations. I am using Firefox.

I'm most likely missing something stupidly obvious. :okiedokielokie: Blame me.

"Quotations"? What do you mean by that? A quote inside the post of the person you're quoting, or literally text within "quotation marks"?

Sorry for the confusion. By quotation I mean text inside of a quotation element in the editor. If I click the "quote" button on your post, it puts your post text into a quotation block in my editor.

Can you link an example?

What do you mean? I haven't encountered the problem in the last ten or so posts so I don't have a screencap.

That's what confuses me though. You say that refreshing does not affect the quotation, but the issue does not last? On which post have you received this problem before? If you try today to quote the same post, are the post's quote and your quote no longer inconsistent? If not, do you have an estimate on how long the inconsistency lasts?

If I go to a page where I had the issue earlier, today both my quotation and the post match. However, near the date/time I posted, the post did not show the same text my quotation of the post showed. If I try to quote it today, the post and my quote match up. I do not have an estimate on how long the inconsistency lasts. Once post where this happened is https://mlpforums.com/topic/128653-guide-to-coming-out-to-christian-parents/?p=3771641. The post that I linked to is the post that I quoted in my following post. The last few paragraphs of Kyralina's post were not visible in her post, but they were visible in my quotation of her. Now, they are visible in her post.

I really don't think this issue is going to go anywhere until I can catch the inconsistency in act and show it to you.

Indeed, I'm afraid without access to it I won't be able to debug it. For the record, next time this happens, could you try CTRL+F5 (hard refresh, which will also clear the cache)? It could be the author edited and the unedited post remains cached.
