This is about Pinkie Pie

Yes, I'm still going on about how I liked season 1 and 2 better for a reason based on Pinkie Pie.

Here's a few things I put down as what Pinkie Pie was in the beginning. She never felt like a character that takes anything seriously and was always smiling and positive. When she does scream and carry on it's on issues that are irrelevant to the episode or so minor it makes you laugh that she freaked out. Her freaking out comes by every blue moon, meaning it doesn't happen a lot and she usually keeps her cheerful demeanor. That's why it was funny and unexpected.

But why does it feel like Pinkie Pie is freaking out in almost every scene? Maybe I saw it wrong but I feel Pinkie Pie has really gone astray with what she is.

That's not just that but she seems to have taken up Rainbow Dash's role of being overly blunt and saying them as they are. The problem is Pinkie Pie feels a little malicious sometimes when she acts that way, Dash was just being honest. Once again I might be off my mind but I feel that Pinkie Pie is not as cheerful and wanting to make people smile anymore. Also what happened to the Pinkie Promise? So that was a one shot one episode sort of thing? No more reoccurences on that?

Anyways just to bring some nostalgia back.

Also Pinkie Pie it's about time you had another party...

I think they've done a great job with Pinkie in Season 5 so far,

and I'm looking to Party Pooped since it appears to be focused on her saving a summit with festivities. I sense much shenanigans in this.

Pinkie has been fantastic in season 5 though, I can't think of a single scene in these recent episodes where here jokes have really fell flat with me. Season four she was kind of sugar crazed save for a few episodes, but here she is just fun and random without crossing that line into annoyance territory.

Also Smile song is my favorite mlp song, period.

the thing about Pinkie pie's freaking out is they've changed pinkie pie from just being a cloud cuckoolander who was zany but had LOGIC behind her actions (Like the parasprites) to being spongebob level of "zaniness" which is basically just screaming things or acting random.

She's really good in episodes like the cutie mark map where she is more subdued and clearly acting on a certain string of logic rather than just screeching, but she also still defaults to 'screechy pie" when the writers feel the need to make sure the 4 year olds are awake during the show.

Uh huh, uh huh. Yeah, I'm just gonna look forward and see how great they're doing with Pinkie in season 5 and looking at one certain upcoming episode, looks like they're doing more with her.

They are so far certainly doing better with her than in season 4. So far, she didn't really feel forced into the plot and her jokes actually were more plot relevant.

I definitely agree that season 1&2 Pinkie Pie and season 3&4 Pinkie Pie are waaay different, but season 5 Pinkie seems to have the encouraging attitude of the Pinkie in 1&2 along with the character development and morals we have seen blossom in her throughout the show.

My opinions of Pinkie Pie go up and down. I normally don't much care for her, but I think season 5 so far is handling her really well. My problem with her since season 1 is that everypony excuses the behaviors that should sometimes be reprimanded as "Pinkie just being Pinkie." Also, it sometimes seems that the universe itself is bending over backwards to make sure she was right all along.

For example, she repeatedly throws everyone into a tizzy by screaming that Luna is still Nightmare Moon, she's gonna gobble them up, etc. Then she admits to Twilight that she knew all along that Luna was no longer Nightmare Moon and was just acting scared because it's fun. But instead of Twilight reprimanding Pinkie for taking a joke too far, she goes to Luna and essentially tells her to lighten up. I don't know, that just seems really wrong to me.

Then of course she meets Cranky Doodle Donkey, someone who legitimately has no interest in being her friend. Instead of respecting his wishes, she spends the entire episode stalking him and doing whatever she could to force him into being her friend. Now, Twilight in that episode did reprimand her by telling her to accept the fact that she just can't be everyone's friend. And just when she's about to accept this, she suddenly realizes that Matilda is Cranky's long lost love, reintroduces them and he becomes her friend anyway; rendering the lesson that she was on the verge of learning completely moot.

Pinkie has always come off to me like a non serious contribution within the main characters. I do agree that  season 5 has been better tho. I liked her effort in the episode with Gilda recently.

I actually love Pinkie waaaaaaay more now, especially in season 5 so far. Which I think she has been probably at her best in this season, in my opinion. She is still just as random and hilarious, but she actually has depth now after 4 seasons prior. Pinkie has made me laugh before, but she has been making me laugh waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than average on this season alone. Her actually having developed depth to her personality is a wonderful bonus to it all.

Pinkie went from a character I liked to potentially being one of my main favorites along with Twilight and Flutters.
