My mother's reaction to Lullaby for a Princess

So today I went home to visit my parents. My mother is very open-minded and I was raised this way too. So we had a conversation about stuff I have been doing lately and the brony topic came up (she has already known about it). She is very conforming about what i'm doing cuz she knows I'm deliberate. While we were talking, the Lullaby for a Princess animated song came in my mind which has been released recently. She really likes touching things so I didn't hesitate. I also explained her that this is a fan made animation, a pre-story. I showed her. When Celestia started to cry I have heard that my mother was sniffing. After it ended I turned to her and asked how was it. She replied: "So this is what bronies do? Making heartwarming videos about the show?" I nodded and smiled(cuz it's not the whole truth ) and told her that this animation took 2,5 years to finish. She said it was beautiful and we had a talk about it. The interesting thing is, that she doesn't speak english so I had to explain the plot after that but still she felt sad just watching the animation and listening the song. I also mentioned that there are several videos which have the same feeling. My mother compared bronies to artists. She said that she understands why people like this show if they can do videos like that, those feelings they can get from it, not every people can understand. She couldn't be more convinced that this animation was a masterpiece.

She's not wrong. It reminds me of "Great to be different" or "A Long way from Equestria." Both songs brought me to tears and are the reason why I'm convinced are fandom is more than "just another fandom."

Early fandom songs. Two of the most heartfelt and beautiful pieces we have in the fandom. "Lullaby for a Princess" is too, but it's earned some endurance the other two don't quite have precisely for reasons like this video.

Really, it does make me wonder how my parents would react to brony vids like this. There are truely plenty of beautiful things here that should be shared.

I wish my parents would get that emotional over MLP stuff. They're ok with me and my bro being bronies but tend to ignore it.  I think they've become desensitized to it at this point. They'd probably think "Oh, this is a pretty animation and it's a nice song", but probably wouldn't think much beyond that.

Well, that is different. It managed to impress someone who doesn't even speak the native language of the song.

 

So... is there a main thread for the video? I'm looking around and using Ctrl+F and multiple ways of searching on multiple subforums, but I'm not seeing one.

 

I'm going to make a main topic if one has not been already made. I'm pretty sure that fan content that one did not make themselves belongs in Sugarcube Corner.
