How did you find MLP Forums?: Simple google search.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I became a fan in an extremely roundabout way. I frequented another forum where one particular poster that everyone loved was a MLP fan. I wasn't particularly aware of exactly how large the brony fanbase had become, but she was a very cool pegasister. (Had no idea of that terminology at the time though). She posted a thread where she compared the most prominent posters to MLP:FIM (incidentally I was one of the Wonderbolts, but I can't remember which one). But what really caught my attention was her description of Discord and her comparison of Discord with a moderator that I respected a great deal. I thought to myself, "Hmm, sounds like Q." I've been a huge Star Trek fan since I was young and Q had always been my favorite recurring character. I was mildly intrigued, but thought nothing more of it until a few years later.So after watching the Deja Q episode on Netflix I got curious and decided to look up John De Lancie's filmography. I found out that John De Lancie voiced Discord in MLP:FIM. I immediately thought of that one forum poster and thought hmm... It's probably worth watching. I'd watch anything with Q in it. So I fired up the season 2 premier two-parter and watched it and I unexpectedly liked it. Discord IS Q. I later found out that Discord was heavily influenced by both Faust and De Lancie. They absolutely nailed it. I did think the elements of harmony were slightly cheesy, but it was obvious to me that this show was a lot like Adventure Time in its ability to appeal to a wider demographic than one would expect. I watched the next episode which was Lesson Zero, and I got hooked. I was identifying with Twilight at the time with deadlines and studying and such and the stir crazy feeling that sometimes accompanies those times and it resonated with me.So I binge watched everything in the space of about four or five days last week and I am 100% irrevocably hooked. If you told me a month ago that I'd be so happy and engrossed with cartoon ponies I would have said you were crazy. Go figure.

I am 25.  I really enjoy history, college football (go Vols), fishing, science fiction and fantasy novels, nonfiction history, and historical fiction.  I am a former history major that recently graduated from law school and am currently deep into studying for the bar exam with plans to join a small town law practice after bar passage.  I am from the Southern United States.  I enjoy classic country music like Merle Haggard, George Jones, Don Williams, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn (to name a few and I care for very, very little of the new stuff)  I do like classic rock and other genres, but country is my favorite.  I am also pretty well traveled and really love to see new places and see historical sites.  I also have a lifelong dream of learning to how to sail and buying my own boat.

 Applejack is narrowly my favorite because she's so level-headed headed and hard working. She's got a lot of qualities that I prize highly in friends, and I just really love the Apple family in general.  I'm also surprised that Ashleigh Ball (a Canadian) is able to pull off that accent even though it's definitely a little on the thick side and somewhat difficult to place regionally.  Still very charming, and I think she does a great job voice acting Applejack.

 

I also really like Twilight Sparkle because she's such a wonderful nerd.
