The sun was rising in Baltimare, ponies of all ages were on their ways to school, and work. The city was fairly quiet compared to the middle of the day. Among the citizens, were some old, and some very new. Baltimare was a prime place for the population of Equestria to flock to, due to the available entertainment, work, and living opportunities. It was bustling.

 

Among these new citizens, was a young Griffon who had just left Manehattan. He had been fired from the restaurant he worked at, and evicted from his small home there.

Percy walked off of the train with no real personal possessions. Just a small bag with his remaining bits. He was homeless, and survival instincts were kicking in. He had come here hearing of a great economy. "Time to find a job, I guess..." The disgruntled Griffon thought.

Nearby, a unicorn by the name of Aquamarine Amphora was opening her shop of pottery, interior decoration and small handcrafted jewellery. Most of it was made by her own horn, the rest from a select few distributors her family had gotten in touch with. Business was actually quite good. The economy was healthy, and so pretty much everypony had money to indulge in the kinds of things she sold. She had more than enough money to live and enjoy life, and was even saving a solid ten percent, just as father had always told her to. Flipping the sign to "open" at the front door. She then took her position behind the counter and prepared the register.

"Do we really have to go?" Whined a tired-looking mare with brown hair and bright blue eyes. The just-as-tired-looking mint green pony sitting beside her - her twin sister - replied, "Well, we're already halfway to Baltimare, so there's not much choice," as she gestured around them to the rest of the train. "We're only staying for about a week. I'm sure you'll come to love the city. Or, at least tolerate it."
"No way. Do you even know if you'll like Baltimare? I'm pretty sure there aren't any forests around. And I bet it'll be so bright that I won't be able to do any stargazing."
"Life isn't all about forests and stars, Evergreen," the other mare sighed. Evergreen rolled her eyes. "Look at it this way: there are tons of things we could do that we couldn't do back home. Like, um... movies! You've always wanted to see a movie."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, Winter," Ever said,  yawning and turning to the window. She really wasn't all that mad, and she knew Winter knew it, but she still wasn't entirely happy about leaving home, even for a short time. 


The train arrived at Baltimare a short time later. Winter nudged Evergreen to wake her - she'd fallen asleep from exhaustion shortly after their pseudo-argument - and they grabbed their things and exited. As they left the train station, Evergreen groggily looked around at the others that were also leaving the  She noticed a Griffon, which she thought it would be awesome to meet him, but Winter reminded her they needed to find their hotel first before going to talk to anyone.

Blaze stood up early today. He was needed at his club today, to check up on some improvements. He put on his shades, and got out the door. As he walked through the streets, ne noticed that alot of people were up and kicking early. So that's why i can't find anyone when i wake up at 10 Though Blaze. He saw the club up ahead called the Blazingvinyl. He got inside, and looked around to  spot the improvement he had been asking for, He smiled when he found it. "Perfect!" shouted Blaze

The appearance of Remix Blitz could be generally identified by the overly chipper exclamations heard long before the pony even came into sight, and today was no exception. However, today was exceptionally special, making her somehow more happy than usual. “Hum diddly dee!~” she sang, bouncing and bopping along to the music filtering through the headphones over her ears. “Come on Jazzy! You’re lagging behind!” she exclaimed, pausing to glance over her shoulder at the source of her joy – a grey Pegasus mare who was quite noticeably less extroverted than her counterpart.

 

“Coming, coming…” Jazz mumbled, Remix’s sharp ears easily picking it up anyway. Watching the other mare bounce off, she simply sighed. To those not close to her, her general stance would appear to be radiating annoyance, but the softness in her eyes and the ever so slight quirk of her lips signified a mild amusement. 

 

Jazz was in Baltimare for a small bit of general shopping and work – musical careers often meant moving around, and she knew this more than most. Remix, on the other hand, had no reason to be in the city other than simply wanting to tag along with Jazz. Her lack of gigs had left her with free time, and how better to spend it than with someone she enjoyed the company of?

 

“Jazzy!” Remix exclaimed, stopping on a small street corner. Jazz stopped also, her silence indicating that the unicorn should continue. “Whatcha wanna do?”

 

Jazz shrugged in response, herself unsure of how to spend their time. “Hm… Well… How about we just look around?” she asked, glancing to her left and right. 

 

“Sounds good! Let’s head… That way!”

Spellbind had not long ago arrived in Baltimare, and it seemed like there was a lot to do. Having lived in Canterlot for her whole life, she had gotten used to the high-class city and now she wanted something new.

 

She saw two ponies in front of her, about three metres away. Looking around seemed fun.

 

Still keeping three metres away, she walked behind them.

Devil Chord was wondering the streets in Baltimare. She got to the city about two days ago, now she was looking for placed where she could play her guitar and maybe urn a few bits. Though she doubt that the ponies who lived here would like her kind of music. It was a bit too loud and violent. Like the song that was blaring in her headphones right now, drowning out the sounds of the city as she walked through it.

 

She had her bags and her guitar with her, as always, and her normal rocker clothing. Witch kind made everyone avoid her because she looked a bit intimidating.  It made her kinda sad, but she wasn't gonna changer the way she looked just to be liked. 

 

When she made it to one of the shopping areas of the city she started taking out her stuff near a fountain. He pulled out her guitar, leaving the case open sp ponies could drop bits in it, and hooked it up to her pocket amp, it was in a purse-like bag so she slung it around her side and started setting the volume.  After that she tuned her guitar till it was just right. Then she started playing the song she was just listening to,she sang as well. Her voice was slightly raspy but it fit well for the song she was singing.

Cherry Bloom was a very cheerful sweet Pegasus. She had set up a small street cart in an attempt to sell her hoof made goodies.

 

Back only about a few months before, Cherry Bloom had been living in Fillydelphia working for the world renowned Filly Wonka candy emporium. She had completely loved her job, infact she had earned her cutie mark which was two cherries over a lollipop because of a tour she had taken of the main factory as a filly. But her kindness was frowned upon when the filly wonka emporium had come under new management. Cherry Bloom was loved by the fillies and colts that toured the factory and came into the shop to buy candy. She would always give away free samples to kiddies and would take old candy that would be thrown away otherwise to the local orphanages. This embed with her fired and on her way to Baltimare.

 

She set up her street cart covered with delicious candies and baked goods then hung an open sign on it. *please let today be the day some pony sees my potential.*

Hurricane was flying around the city with a fresh apple cinnamon muffin she had taken from a small stand while the pony working it had stepped away for a few moments. She was in Baltimare for no reason other than she wanted to explore. She was originally from Ponyville, but spent most of her times in the clouds or in the outskirts.

 

Her casual flight was soon interrupted by a blaring guitar noise. She stopped in her tracks and looked down at the rocker mare shredding her guitar and singing the words. Hurricane swooped down and landed on a nearby lamppost. She listened and watched until her song was over. "Any luck yet?" she called down looking to see if any money was in the guitar case.

When Devil Chord was done playing she gave a light bow to the ponies who stayed to listen to her play. She was about to bed down to see how much she made when a voice called to her. She looked up to a lamp post where a..very pretty onyx colored mares was perched. "Uh..." She didn't know what to say. It's  been a while since someone has talked to her. She looked down into her case to see that five bits were dropped in it. 

 

She picked it up and tossed them up in her hoof a few times. She looked back up at the mare. "B-better then normal. I usually end up with just three bits or lower. One time someone dropped a half eaten sandwich. But I got angry and threw it at the guys head." She chuckled.

Guy-Manuel was walking around Baltimare, taking in the sights, smells, and especially the sounds as he did in every city he went to. He had been traveling the globe, getting the vibe from all the major and important cities, as he was making an album about different cultures. He also made sure every song was accompanied by a local artist. He heard that there was a large variety of music in Baltimare, so it seemed like it could be tough.

Well, their map had certainly been no help, but that was more because they weren't familiar with maps (living in a small town that you didn't even really need a map for stunted their map-reading abilities) than it being incorrect. So they wandered, looking for someone that didn't look too busy to help them.

After a couple of blocks, the sisters noticed a cart of candies and pastries; the mare behind it looked cheerful and welcoming. They approached the cart, and while Evergreen smiled a hello to the mare and promptly started looking at what there was, Winter asked,
"Hi miss, my sister and I are a little lost. Would you happen to know the directions to get to the Super Neigh hotel?"

Business at the shop was a little slow that day, with few ponies showing up. At noon, Aqua closed the shop for lunch, deciding to enjoy eating out. She stopped by one place a picked up a small hayburger, deciding to eat it on the go. Once finished she found herself wanting for a dessert.

Spying a confectionary cart with two other mares at it, Aqua decided to give it a try. She arrived just in time to hear the the question being asked.

 

"The Super Neigh Hotel?" asked Aqua. "Why, it's just a block down from my shop." She pointed with a hoof. "You'll want to turn left at that intersection, and then right at the next one. After that it's about a five minute walk down the road. I can show you the way if you like, if you'll allow me to just get something from this cart first."

 

Aqua then looked at the goodies of the confectionary cart, eyes nearly gleaming at the tasty-looking possibilities.

"Thank you very much," she replied. "We're both from a very small town, so big cities are more than a little confusing."
 The sisters both picked out a pastry and a candy each, then stood back to let the aquamarine-colored mare choose.

Cherry Bloom gave a big bright warm friendly smile as the sisters walked up. Before she could answer however another matter walked over and answered for her. " enjoy the treats sugars I hope you like them. " she said happily then looked at the aquamarine made. " hello there sugar cube! Everything is just 2 bits. And made from scratch. " she added. " are you all new to baltimare?" She asked curiously.

"Made from scratch?" Evergreen echoed in surprise, swallowing down a bite of her cinnamon bun. "You've got some talent, then. This is delicious!"

Winter took a bite of her own food, and nodded in agreement.

"Can't speak for her," Ever continued, gesturing to the aquamarine mare, "but we're from way outta town."

"Yeah, we're from Brayerdell," Winter added. "It's pretty tiny. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of it."

Aqua floated two bits over to the cart owner, and then browsed the goods at her leisure, intermittently looking to Wintergreen and Evergreen. "Me? Out of town? Oh, well, I guess that depends on how far back you want to go. I've been here a few months, but before that I was on a rock farm with my family out in the middle of nowhere."

 

Floating out a purple lollipop, Aqua focused on Wintergreen and Evergreen. "I'm Aquamarine Amphora by the way. I own Amphora's Stoneware, Porcelain and Jewellery Emporium. You'll walk by it on the way to the hotel. You two should stop by for a souvenir. Are you staying in Baltimare long?"

 

Aqua licked the lollipop. "Mmm! Is that real cane sugar?"

After Devil Chord took notice of Hurricane and spoke to her, she came down and landed in front of her. "A sandwich? seriously?" she responded looking annoyed at the idea. "I don't blame you for throwing it back. I would've scheduled them their own personal rain shower." she smirked.

 

"Here." Hurricane said throwing a bit into the guitar case. "And I don't give out money to just anypony, but I don't come across music like that everyday."

Cherry Bloom blushed with pride and smiled happily nodding eagerly. " you bet it is! I only use the very finest ingredients when I'm baking and candy making. I want to make my customers smile and come back for more! It's always been my dream to see my treasures sold all around equestria! To be a household name. The thought of the joy it would bring just makes my heart soar! "

Not like dubstep or pop singers like Sapphire Shores.  But in some placed like Fillydelphia, Manehatten and a few parts of Whinnyapolis it has a pretty good following. But I hear it's really big in the griffon kingdom. It's called metal. The fastest, heaviest and most beautiful music you will ever hear."  Whenever Chord talked about metal she would get very exited.

Blaze heard some glorious rock somewhere he just didn't know were to find it. I could have sworn, it was right here! He then noticed the source of the music ooohhh a real rocker, and who is that pegasus? Blaze trotted up to the ponies "Hey my name is Blazedtime, and i couldn't help but notice that you were playing some rock, were did you learn that?"

I'm personally more of a punk rock type of pony-" She was going to continue her sentence, but then another pony approached them. He seemed pretty excited about what was being played.

Spellbind had been walking through town rather aimlessly. She heard the sound of rock music and she had to say she liked it. It took her a while, but she was able to find where the music was coming from: a mare playing her rock guitar.

 

Spellbind tossed a coin, but it hit Devil Chord.

 While she fiddled with her guitar, waiting for the mare's response another pony came up to her to say that they liked her playing. A stallion this time. She smiled again. "Oh, I leaned how to play from my dad. But mostly blues music. I got into rock, metal and anything that sounded heavy and fast. Which I taught myself by ear from the bands I've listened to."

 Devil's ear perked up when she heard the mare talk again. "I'm glad you like it. I like a pit of punk myself. I also know a few songs. But I like metal a little better. Mostly because of it's diversity. It's not just one soun-"  @@Littlecandylulu903, While shew was talking she felt something hit her. She looked down to see a bit. SHe picked it up and look where it was thrown. She saw a mare near her case.

 

Devil Chord  raised an eyebrow. "Uh, thanks?" She gave a light shrug and tossed the bit in her case before turning back to the others.

Cherry Bloom stood looking at the time on the clock across the street. " well every pony i'm actually heading out myself. " she said as she handed them some goodies for the road. " my treat! " she said as she packed up her cat getting ready to leave. " I am heading to another place to set up. I travel trying to drum up more business. I'm heading center of town. Lots of street performers there that need some food. " she said and began to pull her car along. Soon she arrived where Devil was playing hey music. She set her car up and walked over to her holding a Cherry pastry. " hello dear. Are you hungry?" She asked offering it to her.
