Hello there everyone! (again)

 

Now that I have figured out how my OC Garnet is going to look, I need some help/feedback with her cutie mark 

 

Her special talent is jewelry making.

 

 

This is how it looks so far:

 

I want her to be a character who could fit in the show, while still being different enough so that she doesn't look bland. I'm not sure if her cutie mark could be canon, since it's a little too detailed, but i'll leave the criticism for you guys~

 

Bear in mind that this is a simple MS Paint sketch, and that it would look more like the show if it was a vector 

 

So, what do you think? Should I keep it? Should I change it? Does it look so ugly that everyone died? Let me know!

Anyways, I think the cutie mark might look better if you removed the outline.

A simple emerald for a cutie mark? As shown, I see no problem with show accuracy. Her name may be Garnet, but an emerald works all the same to convey her relation with precious stones while also matching her eyes.

But, just an emerald does not really have anything to do with jewlery making though, So you might want to add a gold frame or something to it

I actually was going to make it a garnet, but I think that her green eyes would look out of place without she having something to do with green, and I love how it looks so I didn't want to change it~ 

Also, ponies get their cutiemarks after they were born, so it's probably more realistic that her cutie mark doesn't have to do with her name some canon characters broke this "rule" though

A gold frame, huh? I'll try this as well. Also, don't worry, I think that the hardest thing most bronies with OCs face is coming up with a name and a cutie mark

Emeralds are fab. It's adorable as is, and I reckon it fits her talent very well - after all, not every character has a literal talent representation. Some may say it's a little dull with just an emerald - if you want, you could make it sparkle - but I think it's nice. Simple but effective. I would say triple it if you want to, but then you risk making her too similar to Rarity.

Thanks! I think i'll keep it as it is, I tried making it stand out more but since i'm not that creative of a person, I think that this looks nice for now. It's simple and isn't over the top, like Garnet herself

I think that i'll keep her cutie mark as it is, thanks for the feedback, I really like art but i'm not very confident in my skills, so having outside opinions always helps

A small suggestion. 

 

I think it might be a bit too big.

 

Shrink it down just a little and I think it'll fit better.
