"It is no trouble at all, my friends," said Cirrus with a nod. "I have worked on harder things when it is coming to travelling than this. As for sitting together, why should we not be making a habit of this? Even if math is terrible, at least there will be friends close by."

"Aye, you are correct," Tyra agreed, beaming at the stallion, then looking around the room, "I fear that math will be a challenging opponent, but with friends here, I will conquer it!" She declared, flexing a hoof determinedly.

She was never that bright when it came to numbers, even the village wizard back home, her tutor, had trouble teaching her the more advanced points. Adding and subtracting was no problem, but multiplying and dividing were a bit of a grey area. And don't even get her started on percentages.

Segran just remembered something that he was told to do, so he teleported using a portal to outside the math class room to hang a sign saying ''Class Canceled'' on it before going through the teleport to find his teleport stone that teleports into the class room as he doesn't like doors that much. He tripped on a piece of rope and... 'found' the stone. With the wrong end, his flank ended up through it showing in the ceiling of the math class room before he fell through it when it enlarged revealing himself hanging upside down ''Well... This is awkward'' he said as he removed the hind legs that were stuck under some heavy objects. He then regenerated new ones in a... Unpleasant matter by having the mass of his body twist itself downwards into pony legs and hooves. Ofcourse it wasn't visible as he hid that part of his body from view. He closed the portal in the ceiling by throwing a black ball that looks like it glowed a purple aura into it before standing up with his now fully regenerated legs ''Well then... Sorry for the intrusion and, i guess you didnt need to see that much but... I am here on behalf of the former principal knowing that the current math teacher you have... had a little distraction. Its nothing major i hope and shouldn't be more than this day. I shall leave you all free to early lunch this day... Just dont put gum or paper on the ground. Not fun for anyone! Not even your hooves.'' with this said he this time made a portal himself in the wall to return into his own room or atleast the temporary room he has where he stores all his stones. Its only used on these weeks where school first start.

(hope its good enough... I'm tired and need to go to sleep now so have fun... Well not that you can interact with my character.)

"Well. At least the teacher has the stones to not show up, rather than play games with other ponies time. Probably realized the same thing that I did: That this class is pointless, and that most ponies will have no use for any kind of mathematics outside of arithmetic." Silhouette then magicked a small, long, metal, rune covered box. She pulled a notepad sized piece of paper out, and began writing a list on it.

Family sized, deep dish, stuffed crust, hay lovers special.

+ onions, peppers, oregano, extra pepper jack

w/ cheesy garlic bread (substitute marinara w/ ranch)

Canterlot High, Room B-18.

She rolled up her list, opened a lid on the front of the box, tossed the piece of paper inside, closed it, then flipped a thin level with a red rectangle on the top of it so that it was standing up. A brief flash of green came from within, followed by a thin wisp of smoke puffing out from venting on the side of the box, quickly drifting through the air and exiting the room.

She then resumed her composing of 'Prison Without Walls.'

He sighed and turned around absolutely bored "What do you say to that game of chess?... Sorry I'm interrupting you but surely trouncing a puny opponent would be at the very least entertaining, And how long could it possibly take you? Come on put this fool in his place"

He forgot how much he enjoyed self deprecating humor, it allowed a sort of cockiness that was its own breed of confident.

Thunder Streak was walking through the school halls, hanging a poster up on often visited places. The poster said: After school party, at 6 pm, looking for a singer and some other musicians. Eventually Thunder was done hanging up the posters, so he decided to head towards lunch to get some food

Silhouette stopped her writing, and after a brief moment, put her pencil down.

"Now what would be the point, with an attitude like that? Why would I put you out of your misery, when you seem to be doing just fine a job of that yourself? You need to have confidence, before I go about shattering it. You can't watch somepony fall from grace, when they've already dug their own grave."

Continuing their chess match would be more entertaining, but toying with him like this was satisfactory enough at the moment.

Tyra, having nothing better to do since the class was cancelled, decided to watch this game of 'chess' between her new friend and...her new classmate.

She did not particularly appreciate this Silhouette's attitude, but she had a feeling there could be some good in her.

But for now, chess was a thing.

She watched the little figures move around, trying to get an idea of how it worked.

"Why not have the knights begin a full-on attack, instead of having them move one at a time?" She asked, legitimately clueless.

"Yes. How rude of you indeed." She said as she slid her binder to underneath her chair. "How hard you've actually worked is a matter of opinion and context. Comparisons between how hard you, I or anypony else has worked, are irrelevant and pointless. No matter how hard you have worked, there will always be somepony that's worked harder, so there's no use in comparison, unless you're a masochist seeking a gain in disappointment and a loss of self worth. Hmm, now where have I seen such things before?" She held a hoof up to her chin and looked up to the side in mock ponderance, before turning her attention back to her board.

With her magic, she adjusted the angles of her ornate onyx Nightmare pawns. "And about you having a name?" She finished adjusting her forces, and took off her glasses "Give me or anypony else a good reason it's worth remembering."

"Why not have the knights begin a full-on attack, instead of having them move one at a time?" She asked, legitimately clueless.

Silhouette inhaled, then slowly exhaled.  "For somepony who does not understand the concepts, you sure do want to be involved." She replied, without even looking at the northerner. "Care to explain for our sole spectator? She could use a peer to elaborate things for her." she  asked of her opponent.

With class cancelled, Cirrus brought out his schedule to make sure there wasn't something immediately after math class of immense importance. It was lunch, which was important in its own right, but not exactly what he was thinking of. His eyes lit up a bit at health education. He liked learning how to take care of himself and his body. A robust constitution and hearty recovery rate from injury was something he prided himself on, even if it was something he had not per se earned.

For now though, he watched the two apparent egomaniacs have at each other via chess. He chuckled at Tyra's question.

"No, Tyra. The game goes in turns. When it is a player's turn, they can only move one piece, and they have to move it a certain way. Knights have to move in an L-shape," he motioned with his hoof to demonstrate, sidling up with Tyra on his right side as his left wing extended to try and pull Trivy closer to them.

What have you accomplished for your name to have worth? What causes you to stand out amongst the sea of soulless masses we all try to navigate?" She moved her piece to it's next position. "Everypony goes through life. It's not a sufferable task if the very definition of enduring it is living.  If life is a task they cannot accomplish... well, those kinds of ponies won't be around for us to meet. Thus, everypony we do meet, are all in the same boat. It isn't' an unenviable task, if you're willing to go through with it. In short, life is not a worthy enough challenge." She began to move another of her pieces.

"You don't place yourself above others. You arrive there. It is not any fault of your own that everypony else is either content to stay where they are, or they aren't capable of climbing to your level. You can't journey through life if you're staying in place. You must take those first steps forward, even if, especially if,  it's away from every mare, stallion and foal staying in place."

But that's just cocky arrogance... until you back it up and prove it."

She moved her own "King", Nightmare Moon, out of check as well. "To address your second point, I guess that's just a difference in our methodology towards engaging life. You give everypony you meet basic respect. Ponies have to prove they are worthy of respect from me. It's worked for me quite well so far, up until my graduation even. I don't ask for their names. They don't ask for mine. A mutual understanding of minimalist necessity, our time interacting measured just enough to be mutually beneficial, yet brief, so as we have enough time to ourselves, to be ourselves, to hone & pursue ourselves, and more importantly to have our own portion, of a fraction, of a moment in this world to call our own."

She adjusted the angle her insurrectionist of the night. "It's an unspoken code of conduct, built on some degree of mutual understanding, honed through experiences, perpetuated by a knowing maturity."

Her nightmare stopped turning. "I should've expected such a thing to be absent in this institution for the young, the restless and the hormonally unstable."

@Unicorncob@Pucksterv, @Ochre_Dust

*Knock Knock Knock* Went the door. It opened up, and standing at the entryway to the class was a pegasus mare in a red uniform & baseball cap, with a wide square satchel balanced on one hoof.

"Umm" With a wing, she pulled a note out of her pocket. "Somepony in here order a Family sized hay lovers pizza with an order cheese garlic bread? A Miss Dusk?" She asked aloud. She looked at the note again "As in Silhouette Dusk?"

Silhouette Looked at the clock on the wall. "Ah, impeccable timing as ever, Marinara." She replied to the pizza mare.  "One moment if you will. " she announced to her quarry as she got out of her seat.

She pulled a pen out of her binder to sign the pegasis recept, then teleported a wallet, a stylized one with the word "Frozen" on it, probably one from Trot Topic, and pulled 40 bits out of the wallet, before it was gone in a flashy *pssh!*

Marinara, as her name suggested, looked at the receipt, then counted the bits, and then nodded. "Generous with the tips as always." She undid the velcro straps on the satchel, and slid out a wide pizza box, with a smaller box on top, perfectly balanced onto her hoof. The box was then taken into Silhouette's magic.

"Well, I'd like to say I'd be leaving you to your class pizza party, but we both know how those actually go."   Marinara removed her cap with her wings, and curtsey bowed. "Till we meet again m'lady."

"Now now, keep that up and I'll have to report your prostrating to your manager." she said without even looking back. A quick laugh could be heard as Marinara shut the door behind her.

Silhouette then telekinetically tugged an empty desk to connect with her chess occupied one. She opened the small box first. Crisp, flakey garlic bread sticks in gooey swiss & mozzarella cheeses, sprinkled with crumbles of feta cheese, with a cup of ranch sauce tucked neatly in the corner.  The warm aroma began to waft its way throughout the room.

She then ripped of a stick for herself, and then magicked her nightmare back into position. "Your move." Dusk then bit into the breadstick with a soft crunch.

"You act as if you don't have hormones yourself, you speak as if your a full grown adult... Now I can't speak for you but whether you have the maturity and the intelligence is one thing. But you do not have the growth and the years of experience as one. So please at the very least stop acting like your above us in every single way. Because whether you like it or not, or still a filly,"

She bit off another piece of her cheesy bread stick, one slathered in ranch. She chewed as she looked over the board. Then she swallowed.

"And you act as though superiority and supremacy are things in permanence. They aren't. Just because you know you're better, doesn't mean it will stay that way. That pinnacle you try to discount, is to keep your head above above the rising tide of mediocrity and complacency.

I give you that, sadly, I'm technically not an adult. and while it may not be in as many years, I still have experiences that the majority of the student boy, and even a few teachers can only dream of. I may not be at the highest of levels, but I am still above you all in every single way. It will be made more and more crystal clear as my internment here continues on."

"And if you disagree..." She reallocated another of her bat pony pawns. "then prove me wrong."   She floated the rest of her breadstick into her mouth, and bit down on it.

"And if you disagree..." She reallocated another of her bat pony pawns. "then prove me wrong."

"Fine then, I will." It was a simple but bold statement, and he meant it with every fiber of his being. Even his munching on radish chips was determined .

By this point an odd thought struck him as he moved his piece, making his solar empire looking rather neat and tidy "I know you probably don't care to much about this, but that you for playing a game of chess with me, I don't get to do it very often any more. Also thanks for putting up with me, I understand it isn't entirely enjoyable for you.,, And I can only imagine making friends is something at the bottom of your list, but your one of the smartest ponies I've met, don't expect me not to try."

He didn't know what to expect as a response, but as philosophical as he was he still was a lonely colt looking for a friend or too
