"he let us out if we did him a favor" "oh no..." "is it the same reason why your out here?" he asked but Jade just stood there getting ready for what ever was going to happen "of course were not going to kill you or anything, it would be to easy, why don't we make this a race to that tower?" "I think I won't accept" "stands to reason, you were always a runner not a fighter" he tried to intimidate Jade to make him accept "you know whether you accept or not, we will get there first and get are freedom, so do what you do and run"

"Please there is no need for violence friend. Perhaps you would care to sit in our group and enjoy this fine venison. We were released from the dungeons to set out on a quest for the king himself. Perhaps you would be willing to let us continue on with this task." Sheera still had her dagger slightly out but not enough for the kings men to see.  

 

Deathmark watched the scene with uneasiness. She was not one for violence, but she will protect herself if need be. Sheera attempted to calm down the two leaders, and Deathmark joined. "Yes, violence is not the solution here, join us for some food" Said Deathmark with an inviting blink, hoping that her good looks will save her

Jade gets closer to his group so that he could talk to them without the other group hearing "there from the first mission I took up as a mercenary, I turned them into the authorities and now I think they want revenge" he explains to all them "there just a group of thief's, not much compared to things we faced before...well I don't know about you but I assume that you have" he said to Goraxan

The horses and the men soon arrived. More humans? I have enough already with these two around. The new humans soon started provoking their apparent leader with banter. Goraxan initially decided to ignore them, and continued to pitch another tent, but when he heard one of them mock him, he turned and growled at them.

 

"So human? You think I am ugly and lack fighting skill? To me, all you pathetic humans look ugly in comparison, but you lot seem to be even uglier than all the others I've seen. And if you wish to test my skill, why not get off your high horse and I will show you what I can do..." Goraxan pounded his fist and licked his teeth in anticipation.

the leader got a wicked smile thinking that the dragon born fell for his trap "I'll get off my horse when I die but I think that won't be a problem considering you will be the one attacking us" he yawned "were going to go, getting freedom doesn't wait" the leader says going out of sight with his horses

Sheera sighed with relief that exchange went much better than she had thought. Quickly she recovered her thigh were the hidden blade had lightly glinted. Back to her normal smile Sheera looked at the happy Deathmark. "Seems like someone is extra hungry? Perhaps you would like to help set up the fire to roast this venison?" Goraxan would be busy gutting the deer and butchering it. He was such a hothead sometimes. Thinking that thought cracked a smile on her face. She didn't realize that she had made such a pun. "Perhaps Jade we can finish with the tents? Luckily I brought blankets for cold nights as well." Sheera pulled out the green cloth blankets the scent of her homeland filling her with a nostalgic sadness.

"well I try not to fight...I guess I am a runner" Jade answered Deathmark "that's not all a bad thing though, sometimes fighting isn't the answer" then Jade saw the blankets and loved everything about them, he really liked green "why not I have nothing to do" he started to help put up the tents
 
"ok what happened while I was away" she watched the video feed of what happened the past few minutes "more jerks wanting to kill me and some talking among friends" she pressed a few buttons and another monitor got activated "follow group on horse back"

 

(sorry I forgot to mention, I need to get into that habit)

Goraxan smirked as the humans rode away, smoke coming from his nostrils. "What a pathetic human coward, fought much worse than them. Even a Dragonborn child would fight better than him."

 

Goraxan then got back to the task at hand. He took the deer from the elf and began gutting it.

Sheera helped Jade set about finishing with the tents. Goraxan looked like he was enjoying himself with the task at hand yet something still seemed off about the place. The feel of the woods wasn't right. There were hardly any animals and even finding the deer had taken an hour which Sheera would have found much sooner if the woods had been a normal one. "There truly is something not right with these woods. I feel as if we are being watched. As if these woods are mechanical. I suggest we leave at first light in the morning to not arouse anymore trouble."

"Agreed I feel like somethings watching us to, maybe more of those cameras that you shot" he said finishing up the last tent then sat down next to the fire then got out the bot that hade been shot down earlier "I wonder what magic this uses" he said examining it to see if he could find an easy way to the core.

"Careful Jade. Who knows what this technology is capable of. It could literally explode on us ending our quest immediately." Sheera was not one to push the situation but she was still wary of some of the technology made by humans. She had seen its evil work far more than its good.

"if it tries to burn me I'll point it to Goraxan" Jade looks at Goraxan "no offense but you can take fire and I cant...another reason is I don't want to set the whole forest ablaze" he said turning back to the orb like camera seeing a hatch that needed some sort of unique screwdriver, or magic, to open "I think I found the way to the core but I don't think I'll be able to get in any time soon" he puts it away in his bag then pulls out a box "I swear if they took anything" he mumbled opening it

Goraxan finished up gutting the deer, and brought the meat to the fire. He could have prepared it the Dragonborn way by roasting it himself, but it seemed the humans wanted to seem useful. The rest of them started to talk about the uneasiness of the forest around them.

 

One the humans, Jade, said that burn damage should be handed by him. "If any of the wretched machines decide to burn us, I am naturally resilient to the flames. I will be able to handle the flames." Goraxan sat near the fire and waited for the meat to cook.

"good you don't take offense, I don't know the social rules with you yet" he said to Goraxan then started paying attention to the box again "earrings, check, necklace, check, bracelet, check" Jade made a sigh of relief then payed attention to the fire "well I've been wanting to know something, why were you thrown in the dungeon?" he asked Goraxan

"My social rules do not differ too much from your human rules. If there is something I can handle that you don't, I will handle it." Goraxan watched the fire then raised his head to look at Jade when she asked him the question.

 

"The reason I was in that dungeon? I was on the wrong side of a battle, and was taken prisoner upon the defeat of the Harbingers of Fear. I guess my kind is sought after by humans, so they didn't kill me right away. I still don't know why I was thrown in the dungeon away from my comrades, I hope they are doing fine," Goraxan looked up at the moon as he remembered his friends in the Harbingers of Fear.

"I was more talking about what I can and what I cant bring up in conversation" Jade said to Goraxan after the first sentence. "I get it, I was wrongfully in there too...sad to hear about your friends, I would never treat another intelligent creature like that" he remembered that he killed others most of the time as his job "if they don't want to kill/break the law"

Sheera was sorry to hear about Goraxan's friends as well. She remembered the day when she fought alongside her husband in battle. he had been an amazing warrior and lover as well. The day that he had died in battle still was fresh in her memory. He had been killed by a human during the Elf Human wars. She remembered running to his aid but being too late and holding his body in her arms. Her children captured in their home city. Brought to the dungeons, tortured and killed before they could even grow to adulthood. In all honesty Sheera should have come to hate humanity but instead found herself numb to any pain at all. This ragtag team was a strange one but it was her home. She herself had been in the dungeon recently, tortured for information on the human wars. She still carried the scar across her chest going down to her womb area. She would never be able to have children again. Maybe that was for the best. She watched her group with that sad smile on her face. This group was young they didn't know about the harsh painful reality of losing the ones that were closest to them. With her numb smile still plastered on her face Sheera continued working with the tents.

Deathmark was a bit sad to hear that he was taken away from his friends. Christine (That's her real name) has never had any REAL friends. Only the boy admires from school, that would do anyhting for her as long as they could become a couple, which is something she didn't like. "Well, i got thrown in a dungeon because... well, do you know the baron that lived in a city not far away from here? I... Killed him. My family needed the money badly, so i took on the job" She sighed, at the thought of her family "I'm sorry i need to be alone for a bit" Said Deathmark and walked away

Christine walked. She wanted to dig a hole and die. She still remembers clearly the day that her parents got assasinated, by a rival mercenary group . She was only 16 back then, so they easily over powered her and killed her parents in front of them. Since then she became the cold Deathmark, the merc that never misses. Gone was the happy, and loving Christine. She found a tree, and decided to sit next to it. She burried her face in her knees, and began to sob. Hoping that it would relieve her of her sadness

"I wonder if I send a robot...she would cheer up" a machine started beeping behind her "90% fail rate" it said. the inventor thought a bit then pressed some buttons that popped out another camera bot from a hive near the camp that headed to the girl how went crying when throw the mic installed on the bot picked up a sound, like a voice

 

"she just splits from the group, Jade did the same" the voice said "I have that bastard Jade, you two get the girl" foot steps are heard coming closer to the girl

 

"I cant let that happen, especially to that group...they seem nicer than the others" she says to her self then makes the bot go into Deathmark's view then makes it do the best it can to try and warn her "why didn't I think to make a two way mic?"

Christine was completely oblivious to the men who wanted to ambush them. She lifted her head and was very surprised to see a robot. She was about to shoot it, but then she noticed that the bot didn't have hostile intentions. So she lowered her weapon. It looked like it tried to warn her, so she decided to climb a tree, once she was in the tree she activated her camouflage, and took out her sniper.

Jade was complicating what he did when he heard a crunch before he got pinned down by the leader with a full set of padded leather armor "HE-" he got cut off by the leader punching him in the face

Christine was getting worried. Some men who were looking for her apparently, have started throwing molotov cocktails everywere. She looked around through her scooe, and spotted Jade knocked out, with a big man on him. She aimed for his head, exhaled, and preased the trigger

the leader fell on top of Jade "mother F%#&er!" he yelled in pain when the bullet about to kill him from it being in lodged in his brain. "was that evens? that girls going to pay!" the second henchmen said before he tried to throw the Molotov but got grappled by the camera bot on the face and burned at close range. the other henchmen looked at his arm "protect!" he yelled then got a glow of magic around him "I'll take you on myself!"

 

(any heavy armor protects against bullets in this world, not forever though, also light armor protects against magic more)
