Aureity 3,055 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 well i see and hear lots of people being bullied and getting called ay because they like the show it happens to me everyday yet i hold on to my bronyship Oh, I thought you meant in the community itself. My bad. Well, forums like these are already one step towards bringing bronies closer together, but in the end, being a "brony" does not define someone as a member of a certain class. Ponies are a hobby. An obsession, possibly. But not a defining characteristic. 4 A lil' Catherine <(^.^)>

Harebrained 39 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) I don't really see the point? People should be allowed to form and hold their own opinions, and who are any of us to decide which ones are appropriate outside of the basic ideals of our society such as "don't hurt people." If the enemy is bullying itself - and I do mean actual bullying - I'd see that as more sensible, but there's lines between standing up against bullies, standing up against people expressing opinions rudely, and calling the thought police that need to be acknowledged. Prince Lightning Da Cute 619 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 We aren't that different from the regular hater my friend, We just watch a different how than them. Not really, if we segregate ourselfs, it would imply we are better and it would make us more easier to bully as well. As a community we may have the title of being one of the friendiest and nicest but at the end the day, we're just a bunch of guys and girls that like a certain show. Typhoid Libby 1,265 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 "Tolerate and Love", or what's the mantra... That means YOU gotta tolerate opinions that are not yours too. It's not a one way path, it works both ways. You tolerate and stay out of their way, and they can do whatever they want. And maybe they will start tolerating you. It's not like few words or some retarded uprising will change anything. Most likely that will make ponyheads look even dumber if we start doing some stunts/outbursts because "We are right!" (You know what comparison goes here.) For the love of Celestia, it's a kids show with pastel ponies. I don't take this stuff seriously. And everyone who does take it as a lifeline or some sort of lifestyle, needs a reality check. The most important bit of being a pegisister? lulz. lulz Because that's the founding principle. To have fun in a similar minded group that likes, for some reason, ponies. And if you must call yourself one, why do it in front of a group that will berate you for it? Yeah, cause you can, but don't act surprised over being called something for it. And in IRL, people will always find ways to hate you if they want. That's just the way that the cookie crumbles. deal_with_it.gif 5 FORUM GODDAMMIT

This is entirely right. If you make "ponies" the cornerstone of your entire reality, you're only setting yourself up for punishment. Sadly enough as it is, people seem to do just that. Sure, people may diss the whole "brony" thing rather often. Do I mind too much though? Not really because - in the end! - this is a hobby of sorts for me. Disparaging comments made towards what's really only a hobby shouldn't be earth shattering by any stretch. 3 keep it real .

Fire_Fly 499 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I like to think places like this exist for the very same reason. It's a step in the right direction, but your average person thrives on conflict. As long as people exist, they'll always find something they don't agree with and can wage a personal war on. Segregation doesn't actually die, it just mercifully takes on another form as time changes, and everyone gets a turn. Everyone has their opinions, even if their only support for them is mob hype, so the most we can really effectively do is band together and wait out the storm. I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion....

Prince Lightning Da Cute 619 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 yeah but it gets bad when people are physically getting hurt for a tv show the bully wouldnt give a second glance at you know I do know, my friend. I have been bullied for 7 years straight and the only reason I no longer have one is because I stood up to them. I Defend MLP right the out gate when a hater comes up to me. Why should I have hide my favorite hobby? I don't like being oppressed and I don't tolerate it happening to other people as well. Bullies are horrible as it is but they can be stopped but telling them your a Brony but you won't stand up for yourself just gives them more ammo. Sorry I'm getting off topic. 2 I'm the Son of Celestia And when i'm King who else did you think would be Queen?

Prince Lightning Da Cute 619 April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 yeah perfectly on topic Alright thanks for making that clear. The argument I want make is that as bronies, although we get probably the most hate. Our community has adapted and evolved to deal with such problems, as do other communities. We say things like "why can't we love & tolerate?" but only some bronies actually follow this principle. Although I will try my hardest to tolerate everything and body but at some point I'm going to get pushed over the edge. "To tolerate evil is to commit evil" and that's something we cannot tolerate nor try to. Something's are contreserval (sorry misspell) and we are going to not agree. In the end, in some cases haters and bronies are the same, we've just given a great show a chance and they haven't. We aren't in most cases any better or worse than the haters. We can't consider our selfs better because we watch a certain show. 1 I'm the Son of Celestia And when i'm King who else did you think would be Queen? Tteok 16 April 18, 2012 Share April 18, 2012 Sorry to hear that you're having irl issues with being a brony, rainbowdash1. People who are insecure about themselves will always be out to make fun of others only to make themselves feel better about themselves and their own problems, so never feel like there's something wrong with you when someone makes fun of your being a brony; always tell yourself that there's a problem with that person, and they're trying their best to hide and ignore it instead of solving it, so how much of a coward are they? The fact that you're not afraid of showing your love for a great television show in real life is respectable and wonderful. This is for all bronies, and fans of things you're not expected to be, out there.
Starswirl the Trixie 975 April 18, 2012 Share April 18, 2012 Segregation is simply not the right term; it means the somewhat forced separation of social groups. Bronies are not at all segregated, we live mixed into the general population, In fact, if we WERE segregated there would be very little violence against Bronies. The word you want is either intolerance or discrimination. Aaaand that's it from your local definition nazi. 2 #SOCKS
