What if humans can have eternal life.... or become reploids?

I was watching a video. Basically there have been tries on making a potion by alchemists on eternal life. Imagine if a scientist actually made something that could repair your blood cells, making you live forever :o

But there was also this that interested me...

So i can basically become a reploid. Thats friggin sweet!

The only thing i would hate is if somebody implemented a virus or something. But other than that it seems sweet ^ _ ^

I'd call living forever more of a curse than a blessing. Surely you'd get so bored after a couple millenniums?

I don't really think that the body is prepared to live this long, but even if the cells were regenerated, it must exist some kind of physical limit of how much memory one can have. At one point the brain would run out of space for new memories, and I have no clue what would be the psychological effects of this. Maybe people would only remember about the last couple of decades or so?

Anyways, not aging is not necessarily synonymous with immortality, the body could still be destroyed. And the heat death of the universe still would happen at some point...

Living forever is a fever dream, there's too much that can go wrong. We can only eliminate certain potential avenues of death.

I'd argue the fact people eventually die is a good thing, anyway. If life didn't eventually end it wouldn't have any value, and the mundanity of living for so long would certainly drive you mad. There's only so much you can actually do.
