Ended up making Quote for the game Cave Story after having scraped 3 previous mlp pieces I tried starting. Just one of those days.

Thanks, not a piece I was looking to do but I think it came out alright overall.

I need to be careful though cause I feel my style shifting again and I'm trying to keep working on these techniques.

True. I doubt I will, as long as I can look at one of my own pieces I should be able to recall the general steps I used to make it look like it did. I like trying to mimic styles; thats pretty much what I did for 2 months when I started. But I really think I can take this grayscale to color method and get really good at it. My issue is I have never practiced with any one particular style long enough to really get the most skill out of it.

 

Either way you're right, I have started to forget how to use Illustrator in fact because I have worked almost exclusively in Photoshop for so long now.
