I started a project for myself as a practice exercise and I've made this thread as a way to spread the idea, perhaps also to inspire other artists to get involved with me here.

 

Every day, I intend to fill one page with mlp fan artwork. Be it OC's or canon characters, anything mlp related goes. I will post updates less frequently here, as I want to use this to showcase the best of what I produce. I have completely filled my book, and will be posting coloured versions of some of my line art now.

Here's what I have so far. (I need to shake less when I take pictures.)

 

 

 

If you want to suggest ideas to me for future days, I welcome you to do so in the comments on my DA for each daily post I upload. Please keep in mind that I won't be doing OC requests, simply because I would be swamped with requests if I did. However canon characters I will do.

If you would like to participate in the daily channel, feel free to post your progress here in the comments! I hope to see some great fan art in here.

Just gonna bump this thread with some highlights of the sketchbook thus far. It's never too late to join me on the challenge if you want to try jumping on the art wagon.

Ola! I liked the coloration of your OC. Is that crayon? It must be hard to shade that well. Lovely!

These are really nice! I love traditional art~ Well done, I like the way you did the coloring on your OC, as well as the lighting in general~

 

The challenge is a pretty interesting idea. A page per day, eh? I think I'll give it a shot, why not ^^ Thanks for the idea~

I used coloured marker for the base, then watercolour crayon for the blending. Then a touch of white guache for the hilight on his eyes.

Looks awesome! I'm doing the same thing as well. I just started drawing, and I plan on doing one a day for a year, which will be the first day of college next year. Of course, mine aren't nearly as good as yours

I'm glad to see other people are taking interest in the challenge. The whole point of it is to help improve your skill, so I imagine you'll be firing out some pretty sweet work by the end. The more you do it, the better you'll get, believe me. I started out doing fan art about 2 years ago, and it looks terrible in comparison. xD

Thanks. I've never drawn before and I figured I'd give it a shot. I can already tell some (slight) improvement in my work, and it's only been a few weeks. I can't wait to see what I'll be doing a few months from now!

I've been trying to keep my arms braced against the table, so I don't shake as much. It's hard to do though. I think I might invest in a little snake leg tripod or something. I'd use my scanner, but the sketchbook is just too big for it.

lol Well, depending on the difficulty level, Sodoku could probably kill me with boredom xD Thank you very much though.

Actually more than you'd think. I do a lot of very light line sketches first, which can easily be erased when I make mistakes. Once I have a solid outline for the character, then I move to a softer graphite pencil, and make the lines darker, then move to shading from there. I sometimes use my fingertips to smudge the pencil for extra shading effects.

Thats a good idea. I dont think that i will be able to Draw everyday.

 

I have acually Recently started drawing (BronyCon 2015).  And its only ponies in the stile of Pony Creator.   Im getting a little better.

Never drew anything before that.

Here's an update from me. I've been offline for a while, but I'm back, and pumping out work to fill in for lost time. I'm about 4 behind still, but I intend to keep posting until I'm all caught up.

Hehe, and by that reaction, I'd say I managed to make the piece do what I had intended for it. Inner demons are never a pretty thing. Luna has the largest and most oppressive in all of Equestria. I figured I would portray the unseen battle she fought alone for so long, out of sight and mind until it grew beyond her control.

I would say that face is pretty inspiring when it comes to macabre and horror. He is pretty well the face of insanity.

 

Here comes a big update. The mane 6 collection is now complete!
