Should there be a Sunset Shimmer special?

Not a movie, but a two or three parter episode(s) that solely focuses on Sunset Shimmer's beginnings, like "the fall of Sunset Shimmer" IDW comic pages focused on, but with the animated special maybe adding her interacting with her family, as she's sent off to Sunbutt's school. Maybe a short scene of how and why Sunset grew distant from them. Exposition of all 3 EqG movie events, and in the third act of the finale episode in the special, showing her ready to go back to Equestria, facing the portal, to properly lead into drawing SS into the FiM series?

Gotta give this one a big Nnope. Sunny's made her home in the human world, and while I wouldn't be opposed to a cameo, or maybe a single episode where she pops over to help Twi with a problem, but Hasbro really hasn't seen fit to do flashback episodes since Cutie Mark Chronicles.

 

They seem to like to save background character building for the comics, and I think that's pretty cool. Gives us way more background, and gives Hasbro something else to farm money with.

 

At best, you might get a EQG youtube short with a touch more Sunny background. But a whole episode, or a multi-part episode just isn't gonna happen.

I'd definitely be down for a Sunset Shimmer episode. I'm not sure I'd want her to come back to Equestria permentally though.

That would be great! It might actually get some of the people that are still somehow leery of Equestria Girls into it, since I assume it would be mainly ponies, as it's an origin story.

 

Although I don't really know how Hasbro would do it. Just as a special maybe? Or would it be it's own episode? I can't see that bodding to well with the purist fans.

I would like to see a special about her maybe explaining more on her backstory and what her life was like in Equestria before she went to the human world.
