Jeremy 128 November 22, 2011 Share November 22, 2011 The show is meant to be cute... why can't they try to put "Cute" and "Soft" together to make something beautiful like this? It's probably because that kind of plushie is a lot more detailed and probably more time-consuming to make. If it's kids they're targeting then Hasbro probably thinks that they won't even realize the difference; and it's because they keep stuff like this off the market they know that they don't. But they could should hire some of those freelancers out there who just make and sell them as a hobby. I seriously wonder if eBay has more cash flow from the stuff people create and auction. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't try to pay more attention of the huge fan base they've acquired. I wouldn't think that their other branches of merchandise would be doing any better than this one is. I say they should take the risk. They don't really have to change the appeal of their products, but a little more availability couldn't hurt too much right? Zoop 8,384 November 22, 2011 Share November 22, 2011 I'm holding out hope that they'll eventually create a (limited edition?) line of higher priced/quality merchandise geared more toward collectors and spoiled kids with rich parents. ... it could happen. There'd be quality and the quantity that they would need. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You got a problem with blank flanks? Ham is tasty 33 November 22, 2011 Share November 22, 2011 Another reason Hasbro probably isn't marketing towards their newly aquired fan base is because they're mostly from the internet where everyones anonymous. It's a whole different story to try and get people to go out in public to buy merchandise based off of a show made for little girls.

Fees and penalties still apply.
Ham is tasty 33 November 24, 2011 Share November 24, 2011 well everyone watching from TV is kinda anonymous too O.o I wasn't talking about watching TV I was talking about going out and buying merchandise from the show. I think it would be a small percentage of all the people that talk about how much they like ponies on the internet that would actually go out and buy things from the show because then they are no longer really anonymous in their fandom. SBaby 660 November 25, 2011 Share November 25, 2011 (edited) Here's the thing. Fan preferences change all the time. And alot of bronies are bronies because of the way the show is now, not because they have something they'd like to see in the show. After all, we wouldn't have become fans of the show if there wasn't already something there that we liked. The way I see it, it could be MORE of a risk to change things to fit the brony community. We don't know how the overall fanbase would react to it. Take Pokemon for instance. After ALOT of demand over the years from fans that stuck with it, the franchise started changing the tone of the Anime to make the characters less goofy and the show darker. Team Rocket isn't nearly as goofy in the new generation. Now the adult fanbase that WANTED to see less goofiness in the bad guys is suddenly demanding that they bring back the 'old' Team Rocket, the goofy one.
