                                                                                                                    Prologue

 

 

 

This fall day started long ago,and so by the time our heroes seen first glimpse of Liper it was already noon.One Khajiit and one Mifwia were siting on top of slow moving carrage,thet was pulled by one older horse.Our heroes were reaching village of Liper much sooner then then year before,and so they were just on time for wheat harvest festival.In this village,people were worshiping god of the wheat and good harvest - Holo.And as our heroes were just five minutes from town our story begines....

The Khajiit in question sat bored on one side of the carriage seat, flipping a silver coin into the air and catching it to try and entertain herself. Unfortunately, this only worked for a couple of minutes before she turned herself to the side and began leaning on her companion, her booted paws dangling over the side.

 

"When'll we get to Liper?" She sighed, gently kicking her legs, "I'm so bored and my butt hurts from this dumb seat."

The Mifwia in question was busy trying to tuck his tail into his shirt "Oh come on you blasted thing, how hard is it for you to JUST STAY UNDER MY SHIRT!" After several more minuets of trying Ticktock finally got his tail into his shirt and sat back and waited to arrive at Liper.

As our heroes reached frst house of village of Liper,they could see thet this was wery small village.There was one inn,some little street shops thet were closed on this day as it was wheat harvest festival,there was one big barn in the back of the town,thet could be seen from annywere from Liper.

Street's of Liper were almost empty as most of people from this village were out in fields harvesting lest part of wheat.And by the legend this village had,one who cut lest part of wheat will be blest by Holo spirite it self.

 

If our heroes whanted to sell logs of wood they bough in  Cloniser,because this village was not big it did not had trading company and they needed to find a carpenter shop - but thet was an easy job as Liper was small.

"Oh, finally!" The Khajiit exclaimed, throwing her paws up in the air, "I thought we wouldn't get here 'til next year."

 

She sat up and looked around at the town, seeing it was practically deserted.

"Where is everyone?" She asked, then smirked at her partner, "Probably smelled you coming."

Ticktock chuckled "Well... i'm not a complete animal, which I cant say for everyone here."

Ticktock had noticed a distinct lake of people in the town (which gave him the creeps), as he rode his cart into the village more he saw a sign which seemed to be for a carpentry. Ticktock tied his hourse up but also left the wood in the cart just in case there was no one in. Ticktock then knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

Dore opened might and one man,thet looked like he is in his late thirties,looked out side.His eyes were looking at Ticktock "Yeah?" man said.Before looking at Ticktock companion "Do you need some thing?".Man looked like he was rushing some were,probably to the fields to wach the end of the harvest.

The Khajiit smirked and flicked her tail at Ticktock's remark, hands behind her head casually. "You wish you looked like me."

 

As the older man emerged from the door, she nodded toward the carriage.

"Got some wood for you. Interested?" She asked, not exactly trained in the art of the salesman.

As Khajiit said they are selling wood,man looked in back of the room like he was looking for something,and then back a Khajiit who offered him wood."Yeah I could use some wood,show my what you got." Men steped outside,and closed wooden dore behaind him,then he looked at the men-Ticktock. And waited for him to show the gods he is selling.

Ticktock took in a deep breath "Well sir, if you would please come this way." Ticktock then beconed over to the cart and walked over there. He held up a piece of wood "You should find these are very high quality, infact i have it on good authority this is the kind of wood used by elves, and we all know how picky they are."

The Khajiit let out a quiet yawn while watching the two men in their sales exchange. The selling part, she could never get behind. Too upfront, too easy, too boring.

 

Now, stealing, that was a whole different story.

 

Her eyes glanced down to her partner's customer's back pocket, and she couldn't help but sneak over and peek inside.

Men looked at the wood and then at Ticktock "Very high quality...il be the judge of thet." Men picked up one of the wood logs from cart and rised it up,and then looked at it from all the sides "This is not great log.It dont look fresh at all." Men then returned the log back at a cart "Best I could do for this quality is 83....85 copper per log.Good?" Men raised an eyebrow as he waited for Ticktock replye.

 

Khajiit thet looked in the pocked of this older men,could not find much.There was one old dirty copper and some weat.

Ticktock gave a slightly worried expresion "Well how would you feel about moving the price up to 110 copper per log, and maybe we can work out some kind of deal for next time we come here maybe." Ticktock smiled a hopeful smile at the man hopeing he would agree.

Men looked at Ticktock then looked for some reson up at a sun.He was looking at sun for couple of moment,probably thinking,then looked back at Ticktock and had lifted his heand up to his chin "When will you come next time?"

As this was happening,laugh of people could be heard in distance.

The Khajiit scowled at the abysmal sight of the man's pocket, and decided not to bother picking it. An old copper and a bit of wheat were not worth it.

 

She had a look around the town, wondering if there were any potential targets she could 'lighten the load' of.

Ticktock bought his hand to his chin and bagan to think "Hm... hard to say really i cant get anymore specific then some point this year, thats the best i can do." Ticktock then held his hand out hopefully but felt like the man would say no. Ticktock couldnt help but think time would tell.

"Thet can be quait long time..." older men started "...but if next time you actuly bring my good logs and not this I can pey up to 105 copper per log." Older man spited on ground,and then looked right at Ticktock eyes and with smaile said "So do we have a deal merchant?"

The Khajiit raised an eyebrow at the older man's desire for 'good' logs. What was the difference? Wood is wood, right?

 

Suddenly, she smirked as she got an idea. She cleared her throat and clasped her hands in front of her, lowering her ears and making her eyes practically wide as dinner plates.

"Oh sir," She purred, smiling up at him, "We've some such a long way, and we have nothing to our name but all this wood. We'd be so grateful if you could buy them, so that we could pay for at least something to eat~"

Ticktock rolled his eyes and shook the mans hand "Deal!... And sorry about her she doesnt mean anything by it she she... isnt all there." As if to solidify what he said, Ticktock pointed at his head. "So you need help getting the wood inside you shop or do you just want us to leave it here for you?"

"Leave it outsaide." Man said with smaile and then looked at Khajiit "If you ask my women job is to clean a house and wach over kids,and not traveling..." Man had spit onces again and then looked back at Ticktock "Put logs there..." He pointed next to a dore,il go to get your money." Man then entered back in his shop.

Laugh thet our heroes heard got stronger and now they could hear yelling "Chapter her,chapter the wolf."

 

(Just you dont see thos who laugh and yell)

The Khajiit gave Ticktock a dirty look from his comment, and hissed at the older man's undermining of her.

 

"Well, so much for getting you a better deal then," she grumbled, ears twitching as she heard yelling from the distance, then leered at her partner, "Well, since you obviously don't need me, I'm going to go see what the big deal over there is about."

 

She started wandering off toward the voices, filled with curiosity and a hint of anger.

As Atayla walked down the road,she seen laughing and yelling was coming from wheat fields close by.There was lot of people from village and by look of it in this village lived more then just humans,as there on the wheat fields was at list two familis of elfs and one Khajiit.And as she could seen they were geting along with humans quait well,as they were laughing in talking - more then she would seen in biger citys thet were runed by the church.

And if Atayla was to look closer she would seen thet laughing and thet yelling was coming from the mid of a field.There was one young female elf,maybie in her late twenties,runing from at list ten other town people.She was laughing and runing from thos people who did chase her.In her head she was carying small bunch of wheat - freshly cuted.The people who chased her had smailes on there face as they trying to catch her for some reson and were yelling "There is the wolf." ; "Holo has revealed itself,chapter her.".

And by look of it elf lady was runing towered the village.

Meanwhile Ticktock had carried the wood over to were the carpenter had wanted it and just stood there waiting for his money, however he did feel a bit guilty about how he had treated Atayla, after all she was only trying to help and he shot her down, it was then Ticktock decided to say sorry after he got his money.

Atayla looked on at the humans interacting with the family of elves and the other Khajiit, already starting to feel better. After getting so much disrespect from humans herself, it was nice to see them finally getting along as equals.

 

She noticed the elf running through the field with some wheat, with villagers chasing after her. All of them were smiling and yelling.

Must be a local tradition, she figured, watching the show.

At carpenter shop - men who had entered to get money for a twentie logs of wood have exited."Here you go 21 silver coin." He given Ticktock the money but with a money he had droped worn out but still usable bag full of wheat - fresh from the harvest. "Its tradition to give with evry transaction bag of wheat on this day." Man smailed,then looked down the road at Atayla and said "You should get rid of her..." He spit on a ground,and his smaile disapired from his face "....female on a road dont bring noting but trouble."

Meanwhile as Atayla looked at this strange tradition elf girl had reached the village and have rushed next to Atayla and in couple moment later next to Ticktock as well.She did not even notice them stending around,as her eyes were looking at one thing big barn at the other end of this village.Other people rushed quickly behaind her,but theye were no mach for elf's spead and agility.
