The Return of Camelot

Long ago before the human and magic worlds were divided stood a kingdom unlike any other. It’s name was Camelot. A golden beacon of hope to all the world and a sign that all creatures could live together in peace and harmony. The kingdom was led by Arthur Pendragon, king of this land and chosen one of the sword Excalibur. One day a man by the name of Lancelot a knight in Arthur’s most trusted circle of advisers and his personal friend betrayed the kingdom. Lancelot had made a deal with corrupt members of the Dragon clan to make a sword by the name of Nodem a powerful sword able to rival Excalibur but, to forge it he not only would need to intertwine his soul with the blade but, sacrifice another’s, someone pure of heart and so Lancelot killed Guinevere the wife of King Arthur and used her soul to create the new weapon. Arthur quickly retaliated gathering the other knights of the round table and fought Lancelot with the full might of Excalibur and the magic of the humans. After a long battle Excalibur shattered Nodem. Yet Arthur was not satisfied, he wanted to make sure that no one would defy him again  and so he tried to use Excalibur to banish the Dragon Clan forgetting who had created the sword in the first place. Arthur’s attempt failed and instead his bounced off of the people of the dragon clan and affected the other magical races banishing thousands of innocents to an entirely new world for all eternity, or so we thought.

1000 years after the curse was set, when the story of Camelot and magic had faded into myths and legends and Arthur’s mistake was wiped from history, the curse began to lift. Magic returned to the world and so have the other races. What does this mean? Could it be a sign of good times to come or is it an omen of a terrible future? If the magic is back does it mean the Excalibur is to? Only time will tell.

Setting

This RP is going to take place in an alternate 2015/16 in the city of Mactelo, California (not a real place FYI). 30 years ago magic began appearing again and 15 years ago the races of old came back to the earth with it. Now each race is trying to live together again. Mactelo is one of many cities affected by the change and is in the crossfire of two major factions of anti and pro magic humans and is a melting pot for almost all of the races.

 

Races

given the nature of this RP I will list the different races and certain facts you’ll need to know if you want to play as them.

 

Humans: They are the most technologically advanced and are one of two races who stayed on earth. The humans can use any weapon and have fire, ice and electric magic and have a lifespan of around 80 years, also they are split between  Pro and Anti magic with few in between.

 

Elves: Elves are one of the races who were banished but, they still like the humans and want to live peacefully with them, they have a life span of 110 years and are great with distance weapons like bows and can use Fire, ice and nature magic.

 

Summoners: Summoners unlike the other races are separated and distant, they have no form of government and all believe differently, in reality they would much rather stick to family units then kingdoms or even towns and don’t care what happens as long as they can survive through what comes their way. There main magics are Summoning and Earth magic but, they can also learn nature and don’t know how to use guns. Most of this race has certain features they share with a summon for example a man with a dragon summon may have fangs and a set of dragon wings or a woman with a snake summon has reptilian eyes and a long tail.

 

Angels: Angels are the most accepting of all of the races and in fact they feel as though they no longer have a place in the world and want to fade into human society, they use fire and light magic and are masters in the use of close range weapons like knives and pistols. They often show up in a crow with their bright wings unless hidden under layers of different clothing.

 

Dragon Clan: The Dragon Clan can live up to 1,000 years old and though some helped Lancelot the Dragon Clan are not against any of the races in fact they are very peaceful, but they also won’t let anyone stand in there way of finding Excalibur and locking it away forever so that the events 1,000 years ago doesn’t happen again. The Dragon clan can wield any weapon but, cannot use magic in battle yet they can use a last resort tactic and turn into their dragon form.

 

Fairies: Fairies can live up to 500 years old and remember King Arthur and what he did, in fact they still hate humans because of it and want to distance themselves from the ith. The Fairies only use specialty weapons which can carry devastating blows and are wielded with the mind and different gestures rather than wielding it and they use powerful versions of earth and nature magic. most of this race appear as children and some especially females have butterfly wings.

2. make sure to read the race descriptions and match them to your character if I see a 500 year old elf I won’t accept it because you didn’t read the description

3. Any race that I didn’t put a maximum age for has the same lifespan as a human

4. Keep in mind that Dragon Clan has huge importance to one of the major points of the story so I will less likely accept dragon clan just because I want things to flow easily when RPing.

5. I will allow a maximum of 2 weapons and 2 magics for each character and make sure they follow the description (Fairy weapons are like spears axes or staffs with the special ability)

6. finally any anti magic characters would not want to learn magic so just put weapons in the weapons/magic section.

7. Something to keep in mind is that elves grow slowly but, still in sink like a human while fairies barely grow at all and stop at around the age of 10 or 11, finally Dragon Clan age with humans until they are 17 then they grow in scale with dragon years so every 10 year after the 180th will look as though they have only aged a year.

Weapon/ Magic: He uses a Broad Sword enchanted to help him control his dragon transformation and a broken blade at his side which he says was his grandfather's

Appearance: He has brown hair and blue eyes and with a tan complexion he looks like a regular teenage boy just a bit scrawnier and shorter standing at 5 feet 8 inches. He usually wears a pair of baggy jeans with a black belt, a red t-shirt, a black jacket  and a pair of sneakers with a green dragon printed on the outside of each shoe. While in dragon form he stands about 5 meters and is covered in black scales and red spines.

Personality: He is smart and cunning far beyond his looks but, will still tackle challenges head on if he needs to and has a short temper when it comes to arguments.

Backstory: From 1883 when he stopped growing he has protected his mother Aiya and fought to keep their secret afraid that if he was found out then it would spell doom for him and his mother. He moved from Britain his home country during WW1 to America where he knew he and his mother would be safe from what was believed to be the war to end all wars and barely escaped joining the army later in WW2 again afraid that they would find out that he would be exposed. Recently he and his mother have settled down like many dragon clan and now he and his mother run a bookstore in the middle of Mactelo, no longer afraid because of the return of magic.
