I can see just about every thing is off but I can't figure out how to make it better, all so I just want to be told all around how to make this better, don't hold back.

Well, the main is flat a little bit. And the head is quite big compared to the rest of the body. Also, I would suggest studying a bit more pony anatomy and either go for the show's style or your own. Because to me, your overall pony looks a bit stretched out. Some proportions are also uneven, such as the legs/snout/mane/tail, I would just check those parts out.

Overall, just study pony anatomy and practice!

Sorry if I sound harsh.

The tail could do to be a bit longer, and the mane as well. Your  body is also out of proportion to the legs, so make the legs a little longer  to get round that. The front of the eye could do to have a small curve on it instead of a straight line and maybe add a bit more highlight to the pupil. And lastly, the ear is just a little big/wide so move the back of the ear in a little.

Other than that it's a nice piece of work, keep up the practice. :kindness:

If you want me to show you a quick sketch of the changes I'd make let me know :rarity:

I can't draw hair well and its my 2nd maybe 3rd attempt to do it like that, and I was going to add some highlights to the eye but it looked off, and id love for you to sketch that out.

I think you just need to work on your anatomy. Maybe something like this?

Before I list what I did I'd like to mention that you should most likely place the other two limbs somewhere in sight (even if they're behind the other ones) just so it doesn't look like the pony is two legged. I'd also make the eye smaller.

What I did to the image:

Moved ear higher up on the skull, pointed it

Extended legs

Extended tail

Made rear smaller in contrast

Made chest smaller in contrast

Pushed skull closer to body

I'd recommend looking up pony anatomy charts or using other people's bases to draw over for practice.

Good luck!

This is just a quick pencil sketch, I have kept the head size and body size the same proportions that you have

Thanks  I think I drew the tail short because I was going to draw my oc that has a short tail but didn't because his hair was too hard.

Seeing a recurring theme of studying anatomy, I guess i'll work on that.

I don't know what program you are using, but if it generates default shapes (especially circles), take advantage of it. There are multiple drawing guides, and MLP Pony anatomy is based largely on circles. Start with the shapes and proportions as a base layer, then fill in details, textures, and shading after.

Clipboard01.jpgThis guide helped me improve immensely when I started out, hopefully it helps you as well.

try using the line tool to get a more stable shape, you can do this by opening a linework layer and selecting either the curve or line tool. (linework layer is to the right of a normal layer)

this should help you get more curved shapes,

also one more tip on the eyes maybe, it's rather odd to see an iris that's only one color, try adding more variants, if you look at the shows characters, they also have (only slighly) a change of color, in the middle of the eye, now how you do it is completely up to you, but usually one side has a darker tone and the other a lighter tone (though not always, especially not if you want to talk realism)

so yeah, experiment, try out new stuff. keep it up! looking good so far.

good luck with drawing man ;)
