Crystalline put on her best Prench accent (which is pretty good considering she has to practice them as a changeling) and said, "Moi? Waste your time? Never! I will try my hardest this fight. Our bond shall grow even stronger through our adventure, and it shan't stop now." She readied herself for the fight. "Let's do this lil' buddy," she said in her normal voice. Fletchling got off her back and stood in the arena.

'Oh she one of those types it's seems' D-Pad thought to himself 'can't let this deter me from my goal.' "Well it seems you'll be a challenge in the comeback department but how about battles. Let's go Eevee."

 

"Eevee, Eevee, eve (ready for action sir)"

 

"Alright then, well Crystalline I hope you don't mind playing dirty, so let's start things off with Sand Attack." Eevee started to run at his opponent kicked up some sand and blew it at his foes eyes.

Fletchling shook its head and tried to wipe out the sand out of it's eyes with it's wings. "Well then, that was dirty. I see how it is! Alright, use growl, Fletchling!" Fletchling growled menacingly at the Eevee. "There you go!" She looked at her opponent, wondering what he would do next.

"Oh please if you think that's dirty I'm just getting started. Eevee keep the sand attacks up for now." Eevee then put all its effort into all the sandattacks making sure the Fletchling would be blinded from all of it. 'So far everything is ok the sand attack will hurts its sight making Eevee harder to hit plus trying to rub sand out will only hurt its eyes more.'

Fletchling was running and flapping around, trying to avoid the attacks and growling back at the Eevee. 'Blast, one of the few ground-type moves flying-type's can be hit by. Hopefully i can weaken hit pokemon enough so that it can hurt Fletchling, but at this point it'll end up as a draw, unless i get lucky. "Keep growling for now Fletchling!" 'This isn't good... what do i do? Do i stop growling in hopes of hitting him with tackle? Guess i have to.' Crystalline prayed to whatever royalty would do her best right now. "Ok Fletchling, Tackle, now! Try to adjust for your blind spots." Fletchling lept at the Eevee. 'Oh please work!'

"Eevee dodge it and take advantage of its blind spot and alternate between tail whip and tackle." Eevee got grazed from the tackle and used tail whip lowering his opponent's defense then Eevee moved into Fletchling's blind spot and started to use tackle at high speeds heading right toward his foe. "Alright Eevee keep that up your doing great." D-Pad look at the opposing trainer to analyze her mental state. All he saw so far was just nervousness. "Looks like all that confidence you had earlier is gone. I normally don't like giving advice to a foe but I guess this can be an exception. Don't you think it's a little early in the battle to lose all that confidence already, cause if that's the case maybe you just aren't meant to be a trainer."

Crystalline smirked. 'Tail whip and tackle? This is perfect.' She looked at him and smiled kindly. "Let me give you a tip then.  Make sure you know what will work versus certain pokemon. Like that tail whip of yours. My pokemon's ability, Big Pecks, prevents its defense from lowering, rendering your tail whip useless." Crystalline felt renewed vigor flow through her. "Alright Fletchling, keep trying to tackle Eevee! You'll hit them eventually!" Fletchling spun around to try to keep up with the Eevee and kept trying to lung and hit it.

"And this is why you should say stuff like that but thanks anyway." D-Pad said 'I can't believe I forgot to take abilities into account stupid stupid stupid.' "Ok Eevee change of plans I want you to growl at it right before tackling it from its blind spot and after throw in a sand attack to keep the sand in its eyes then repeat got it."

 

"Eevee (yes sir)" Eevee followed the plan move in its blind spots used sand attack, got ready to tackle growled, then tackled with great aim.

After filling out the test quickly, Cyan Flare was allowed to choose her Pokemon. She looked from left to right at the ones she had to pick from, then glanced upwards to see the Yamask that had caught her eye earlier. "That one. He seems like a drifter," she decided. "A bit of a daydreamer, maybe... like me." The Pokemon seemed to hear her, floating, slowly, down to Cyan Flare's side. His eyes brightened; clearly, he was happy about being selected as somepony' partner Pokemon.

Cyan Flare drew a number, then proceeded to search for the pony she would battle against.

Sparkle picked up one of the Pokémon and used the dex to check it. "So your Ralts? " she said tilting her head slightly. "Ralts." Ralts said nodding like it understood her. "Cool! Now... What move do you know... Grown and confusion? Doubly cool!" Ralts jumped off of Sparkle and stood next to her awaiting it's next command.

'Growl too? This is getting out of hand. At this point he'll win even if i can't hit him.... I'll try one last thing and if it doesn't work, I'll forfeit to save Fletchling the hastle. I don't want to see him get hurt too badly' She looked up at the battle and observed the enemy Eevee's attack pattern. Growl, tackle, sand. Growl, tackle, sand. Each attack only took about 5 seconds, and the Eevee would run around in his blind spot.... 'All about timing.' "Fletchling, tackle to your left... now!" Fletchling lunged towards the Eevee and finally managed to hit it once, but it seemed like it was too late. The hit seemed to do barely anything. "Ok, I forfeit."

D-Pad heard the forfeit "Ok Eevee stop they gave up."  Eevee then stopped and walked over back to D-Pad sat down and started panting heavily.  D-Pad crouched down and said "you tired buddy."

 

"Eevee *pant* eve (legs hurt *pant* so much)"  

 

"ok pal rest up in your pokeball i'll bring you to a healing center in bit ok."

 

"eve (sounds good)"  D-Pad then walked over to his opponent and extended his hoof for a shake out of good sportsponyship.

 

"I'll admit I didn't expect that much of a fight from you but, you did good for a first battle but I can tell we both have far way to go to get better."

Fletchling hopped over back to Crystalline and collapsed next to her.

 

"Oh no! Are you ok buddy? You didn't get too hurt, did you?"

 

Fletchling shook it's head. "Fletch... Fletchling (just... just tired)."

 

"Ok buddy rest up on my back." Crystalline lifted Fletchling onto her back and looked up at her opponent. She stuck her hoof out and shook his. "Thanks. You fought well too. I can definately feel we have a bit more to learn, but that's what this is all about, isn't it? Learning how to get better and about the world." She smiled. "I hope to see more of you so we can see how we've grown." Crystalline looked at the other fights starting. "Guess we should watch them and see if there's anything we can learn from their fights, eh?"

"If you want to I was just wait for the results to see if you passed and go to the Pokemon center to get healed up. Cause you definitely be a descent rival to help keep track on who's better. besides it was way too close for comfort so I'll be training with Eevee till we beat the local gym leader. Then money at the stadium to travel for the other seven badges but that's just my plan. Probably gonna travel alone though ponies don't tend to talk to me often cause how I act in competitions, speaking of which sorry for the insults I do that for a mental edge considering everypony is pretty much on equal ground right now." D-Pad said to his new rival

"If that's how you want it, I won't stop you." We'll have to meet up eventually, and next time it'll be even better." She stuck her hoof out again. "And don't worry about the insults, just might want to refrain from them in any gym battles." She chuckled.

The Seviper slithered off their trainer's back. The Pokémon glared at Pancham as they both took position at number 3. His eyes gleamed as he bared his fangs.

"Come on, we're both new trainers," Flash called out, "I believe we're ready!" She smiled. She had no idea the outcome of the battle, but she was prepared to help out her Seviper win the battle.

The unicorn smiled and standed in her position, facing her opponent. Renee was confident that both herself and her Pokemon will win the Pokemon "battle". Pancham, on the other paw, wasn't so sure about fighting but was confident to get the bacon off his own back.

 

"Okay.. Let's get this battle over and done with.." Renee sighed as she stands heroically. "PANCHAM, USE TACKLE!!" Renee shouted as the panda began charging at Seviper, knocking the snake down.

"Rival? And here i thought we could be friends and travel together." Crystalline stuck her nose up in the air dramatically, further emphasising that she was kidding. She smiled. "If that's how you want it, I won't stop you." We'll have to meet up eventually, and next time it'll be even better." She stuck her hoof out again. "And don't worry about the insults, just might want to refrain from them in any gym battles." She chuckled.

"Not a bad idea, but we can't be friends if we have the same goal makes it too hard to fight but if your serious about the travel, meet me at the ponyvill gym in about an hour. Ok." D-Pad said

 

"Ok after look over the battle its official you both pass." Twilight told them. "Take these *hands over the license* you can place in the pokedex and its is now your pokedex and your lience. And take these as well *gives each 5 pokeballs* be safe on your journey."

 

"Thank you." D-Pad said as he left to go to the Pokemon center to get his Eevee healed.

"Hi..." Cyan Flare piped up. "I guess I'm number five." She glanced around. "Where's the pony who's number six?" she asked quietly. "Is- is there a number six? I don't mind, I'll battle against anyone."

Cyan Flare looked at her new Pokemon happily, then noticed a strange mask it was holding. She'd never seen a face like that before; it had no muzzle, and was relatively flat. "Hm... strange..." she muttered. "What is this?" Yamask looked down at the golden mask and tilted his head. His vibrant red eyes grew duller as he called why he carried it.

"Yamask..." he uttered. He appeared to be rather sad, so Cyan Flare didn't pressure him. She assumed from what her pokemon had 'said' that the mask resembled what he used to be.

"Strange..." she murmured to herself so nopony else could hear.

RootedWisdom looked for his opponent, but found everypony was battling. "Well Sentret, who should we battle now, now that everypony is already in one?" His Sentret only looked at him, like it was wondering the same thing." Let's ask Twilight if she could find somepony for us to battle." Sentret nodded, and Rooted went to go talk to Twilight. " Hey Twilight, is it possible for you to find somepony for us to battle?" RootedWisdom asked. "Sentret!" RootedWisdom's Sentret responded in agreement.

Twilight said "since I got much more experience in this you challenge well to just make sure your Pokemon doesn't faint for the next minute do you believe this is fair trade off?" Twilight asked to see if he was ok with this idea.

"Well, this will test me to see if after all these times training with you paid off" RootedWisdom replied in his game face. "Ready Sentret?!" Rooted said as he called out. "Sentret!" (Ready!) Sentret replies with determination. Rooted finally got his chance to take on his teacher, the one pony who taught him everything there is to know about Pokémon, and he wanted to make it epic."Sentret, I choose you!" RootedWisdom called out.

"Very well then go Eevee." Her Eevee ran into place "Start this battle off with dig (this Eevee is much higher in level and was taught moves like this)." 'This should throw him off guard Eeve as I think is digging a hole right under Sentret. After that I'll call him out and use my next move to trap him in the hole. To bad I I have get more flooring afterward these battles get expensive after a while proboly should have done this outside too late for that.'

"Well I guess I should let you know a detail you must have forgot in a official battle that would get you disqualified cause that Pokemon is not under you license number. But I'll allowed it just this once. Now Eevee use swift multiple time as fast as you can. By the way something else you should know swift never misses."

 

Meanwhile elsewhere

 

"Thanks for healing my Eevee Nurse red heart" D-Pad said to the nurse.

 

"It's no big deal its my job."

 

"Still thanks anyway, Come on out Eevee we got training to do."
