Scarlett sniggered a little. "Oh I've been following you for weeks, Jade. And also, just a little note. Don't bother pointing your weapons at me. First of all they are pretty inefficient and secondly I could teleport out of here faster than you can pull the trigger. No betting though. You never really know what will happen." Me most of all...

"Well if you've been following me for weeks...you should no how much this stint means to me." She angrily holstered her weapon again, running both her forehooves through her mane. It took her a lot of deep breathes to keep cool in the situation. No pun intended. "My family has been on the chopping block for months. But with this castle find...I can get us right back in the good books of the Watchdog leaders."

"Well don't let me stand in your way! You haven't done anything that affects me yet. So if you don't mind, I'm going to disappear again and find a new person to learn about. Or maybe I could start writing books. I like books. Do either of you want a shipfic of you two?"

"Alright! That's enough out of you! Clearly the Hearthstone's problems are just ONE big joke to you!" Jade physically wanted to just push this pony out of the room. "My uncle only died last week, and I'm not planning on losing anypony else anytime soon. And if that's gonna happen, I need the Watchdogs food and bits."

Scarlett reeled back for a moment before dropping to the floor next to the agitated pony. "Oh dear, I had no idea. I mean, I've been following you yes, but I never intruded on anything within your residence. I, uhh, didn't mean anything. Sorry" Scarlett never was very good at apologising. But she tried. Though she feared how Jade may react.

It wasn't long before the rebel crew consisting of Rosie, two other mechanics and a guard team felt the sudden drop in temperature, snow tainted trees and rocks surrounded them and frost  had formed on everything around them. The layer of snow ahead revealed a multitude of hoof prints, seemingly a line up of ponies. "Shall we investigate?" one of the guards asked, "There's no nearby settlement of ours, nor any groups patrolling this area... We better check it out." Rosie answered and started fallowing the trail. The once thin layer of snow soon became like a breached barricade, the thick snow had already been passed through opening a path for them to simply fallow.

The harsh weather gave second thoughts but their minds were set, and rewarding it was. A large cobblestone structure made it's appearance, "A wall... Out here?". The gates were slightly opened and Rosie glimpsed into the fortified area, not only could she hear them but she saw figures moving, "Definitely not rebels....".

"I'm going in to investigate." One of the guards urgently approached her "I'll come with." Rosie nodded in response and the two quietly sneaked through the gate. Their clothing wasn't the optimal for sneaking but it'd have to do, they tried their best to stay behind the building and in the shadows. The fact that the watchdogs always were so obsessed with their scavenging made the whole thing a lot easier as most of them were busy.  Whilst passing one of the seemingly old building something caught Rosie's ear.

"Alright! That's enough out of you! And if that's gonna happen, I need the Watchdogs food and bits."

She tilted her head slightly and made hoof gesture to signal the guard called Wolf to stop and enter the building. Cautiously they sneaked to the entrance of the building taking every step with upmost seriousness. Upon entering the building there were more options, but they simply fallowed the voices. At this point she felt like it was necessary to bring out her rifle. After walking up the staircase slowly and gently she could peek into the room only to have her suspicions confirmed, watchdogs, some pony the watchdog in front of her seemingly was very angry with and... "Some sort of assassin?". "Wolf, Report back to the others, I'll be with you as soon as possible. Just stay out of sight..." Rosie whispered and Wolf, of course, obliged and returned down the stairs.

Jade just didn't respond. It felt like it was steam she was pumping out of her nostrils she was just so...angry, infuriated. "Look, just..." Jade shifted a little uncomfortably as she tried to think what to do.

"Uh, ma'am?" Switchblade whispered from behind. "What are we gonna do?"

"I don't know...just let me think." There was a lot more going on than she originally anticipated. And these ponies were too valuable to just kill now. They needed some better plan. "Alright look you two, we haven't got much in the way of supplies to keep you both going at the same time as us, but I'm willing to escort you back to safer territory. You won't survive very long without any support out here, especially with rebels just waiting to pounce on folk."

Scarlett stood there for a moment contemplating the universe before thinking about the offer. She knew she'd be fine alone. She could go invisible and walk on walls for goodness sake. However, she was interested in what Jade wanted to do. She obviously didn't just want to help. "Sure, why not. Thanks."

"No this fortress is my home, full of years worth of work and valuables. I cannot leave it all behind for another ragtag group of ill trained ponies to steal it from me. Besides my sword is missing, and this isn't an ordaniry blade, its a legendary blade that's way older than I. If we find it than I'll be somewhat content leaving my stuff behind"

"I'll have you know this is not a ragtag group of ill trained ponies! Well, they are. I'm not with them. And I'm very much trained. So you're wrong twice. Anyhow, did you not enchant your sword with a tracking spell of any kind? I know if I had a really rare blade that is 'super important' I would."

"Legendary, huh? How legendary are we talking here?" Jade looked at the pony with intrigue. If we find that...perhaps this trip won't be wasted after all, She thought to herself and it was clear that Switchblade was thinking the same as a grin swept over his face and the two shared a look. "Uhh...well perhaps we might have enough resources to last out here a little longer. Although I doubt we have much time at all if this sword is such a 'necessity'."

My blade was said to be crafted by beings higher than Alicorns. It was gifted to a hero who with the blade used it to conqure great evil. I had obtained it, and had it enchanted by a demi Goddess so that I could harm even the immortal. By doing so I sealed my fate as a dangerous being, and a major threat to Equestria.

I never thought someone would be able to steal it from me, but my guess is it was stolen from me by the Equestrian Military, and brought to Canterlot.

"Beings more powerful than alicorns? Not such a big deal to be honest. And as for the Equestrian Military and Canterlot, long since gone. I'm not sure if you noticed or not but you've been frozen in that ice for a very long time. Which means many of the things you once knew are now incorrect. Be careful"

Jade simply groaned as the two ponies started to discuss the finer details of the story. "I don't care about how the sword was made or who made it or whatever!" She huffed at them. "This whole place could collapse at any moment, we've barely got enough food as it is and all anyone's doing is talking when we need to get stuff done!" She trotted furiously on over to Frostflame, her temper wearing thin. "If you want to find your sword, go find it. You have half an hour tops to find your sword, gather any other essentials....w-whatever! I don't care! A few of my scavengers can go with you, if need be."

"For reasons I care not to indulge in, don't bother taking me in to account for food. I'll probably be leaving this small yet surprisingly fun expedition to go and see where I can help in this hell-hole we all call home. Or most of us call home. I still call it Equestria."

This place was built long before my time, and fortified by one of the greatest builders I knew... this place is still stable despite what you are use to. Now to important matters my sword. You may think its just another hunk of metal, but you fail to see its true powers, and another thing you may know more about this new world more than I, but that doesn't make me one of your soldiers, got it? Now I need to make my way to Canterlot, and find my sword I will be going with or without you.

"Whatever, whatever...look, Canterlot is long gone okay!" Jade yelled at the pony, the stress slowly getting to her. "If you want to spend days combing the ruins for your bucking sword then fine, do it! But you gotta come to terms with the fact that you're gonna have to change things up to make it in this world. Oh sure, it's great to imagine we're still living in a pleasant and happy Equestria, but we aren't!" She rubbed her eyes and let out a long sigh. "You're lucky it's me you came across. You probably wouldn't even be alive in another situation. Thank Celestia the resistance didn't get to you first."

"Oh fantastic your group is at war with another, and for what supplies, land, just cause?" Snowflake sighs "Even those in the future are blind to peace.... Tell me more about them while I try to find my sword" Snowflake sits down and channels his magic to try and find his sword.

"Your guess is just as good as mine at this point." Jade replied. Switchblade slipped off in the middle of the conversation to check on the rest of the unit. They would need everything ready for immediate departure soon. "Y'know, it wasn't even us who wanted any conflict. They started all of this crap! Oh what, a group of ponies actually had the sense to work together to survive this wasteland and instantly that's considered a major problem? A bunch of angry farmers annoyed somepony had a bigger brain than them? I don't even care anymore, I just do my job and get my share. That's all the Watchdogs are! We do our part and get our payment. It's not our fault that other ponies force us into action!"

The greatest builders I knew built a device that can transport you to another universe. Not quite comparable to a castle. Not at all.

"If you think that's what you are, then your group has some serious perception issues. But, I won't get involved. I never get involved with the course of events. I've spent too much time here already.

"found it, a Shadowlurker managed to pry it free from my frozen corpse and locked it in our vault so no one could ever use its powers again... not even me" Snowflake gets up and looks at the group "I have trust issues with you two, but she" Snowflake points to Scarlet "You prove to be slightly trust worthy... plus I need a unicorn for this."

The red pony began walking over to the Shadowlurker while saying "Why thank you, though I'm not sure why you need my help. If it's a Shadowlurker vault then surely only a Shadowlurker could open it?" knowing full well that the chances were that if it was sealed with magic, it would need a magically inclined Shadowlurker.

Later on, after delivering most of their papers, Ink and Quill received their orders: They were to complete a trade between Cloudsdale and Baltimare. Afterward, they would have some free time to do some scavenging.

"Make sure you bring plenty of that goo of yours, I hear the creatures there have been getting more aggressive lately," Quill said as they were preparing for the trip. "You'll be bringing the flint tips, just in case, right?" Quill sighed, he'd heard this question one too many times. "I always do." With that, Quill threw the quiver over his back. "Are you ready yet?" "Locked and loaded," Ink said, trying to sound cool. Quill rolled his eyes before the two of them hooked themselves up to an antiquated air cart with a faded logo that appeared to be from an old moving company from a long time ago. They flew out of Cloudsdale and headed on their way to the sinking city, their cart full of precious cargo.

(The cart is much like the one seen here)

The trip would be rather short as Cloudsdale was currently hidden in the nearby mountains. They flew down with their cart in towe, landing on one of the rooftops where some ponies were waiting to conduct the trade.

Snowflake walks down some stairs "indeed, the way the vault was built was to keep the others or someone who managed to get past all of us away from our money." The stairs eventually turned into a dark hallway with burnt out tourches Snowflake's eye then glows a bright red "Stay close to me I can see perfectly in the dark, but you're blind as a bat in a bucket. Oh anyways the vault. Every unicorn here was taught a spell to open it, but it wouldn't open without a spell only me, and two others knew, and vice versa"

you're blind as a bat in a bucket

Scarlett followed the, to be perfectly honest, very weird pony down the stairs. Upon the statement about being blind she said "Oh, you couldn't be more wrong. Well, technically. I'm a unicorn remember? I can sense where I'm going with magic. Or I could do it with my suit. Either way, nah."

"heheh lucky you, I had to enchant my right eye to do this which nearly caused me to go blind it was very painful too." Snowflake approached the vault "alright its very simple to open. All you need to do is channel all of your magic into the vault along side my magic, That should open the first lock" Snowflake begins to channel as much magic as he could into the vault.
