My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Applejack

How did you find MLP Forums?: I used an obscure search engine called Google. It took me days to scavenge through the results for "decent non-bad pretty good mlp forum that won't me cry inside because no good ones exist". Without food or water, I nearly died on this endeavor but came out on top when I found the second link was to here, a sanctuary in a sea of despair.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: WALL OF TEXT INBOUND. Skip to end for the less dramatic tl;dr:Sometime in late 2010 at the "mature" age of 11 I was lurking in my favorite forums known as Facepunch when I found out there was a flame war about My Little Pony. Confused, I looked into it further and found out about the show. Myself being an open minded little kid, I searched it up on Youtube.I instantly fell in love, but soon came to realize that would mean I was a "Brony", a new term to me. As I changed my online presence to a more pony related one I was horrified to see all the hate coming in. People were calling me stupid and other much more unpleasant things. That didn't stop 11 year old me though and as time went on I became more vocal in real life about MLP. My parents encouraged me and told me I shouldn't be judged for what I like. Soon enough, by 8th grade my room was filled with pony related stuff and everyone in our small school knew me as the brony. I was accepted for who I was and I was loud and proud about it.Then, a move happened and highschool came. Disaster struck with it's cold, cruel hands and I became overwhelmed. I started to become embarrassed about my obsession, did I really need all this pony junk?I moved away from MLP for years, avoiding it like the devil. I joined in on calling bronies weirdos a few times. It seemed like my love for MLP was in the past. Then while I was very sick, on one fateful night in 2015, I had an urge. An urge to watch My Little Pony. With out anything else to do, I took my school-issued Ipad and started binge-watching the entire series. It is the only time I've ever binge-watched anything ever.I fell in love again, but I was in denial. I grew to hate bronies. Why would I let myself become what I hated again? I was doing so good, I put past me those cringey middleschool years. I fought for days against the urge to be a brony once again, but eventually it won.Pony avatars began to flock my social media. Messages of concerns were spammed, saying that people were concerned for me (seriously, several people were concerned about me being a brony lol). The Anti-Bronies I had befriended had unfriended me. It was a tough battle but I prevailed. And so the cycle continues. I grow more and more attached to the series once more, as I prepare for the over-dramatic adventure ahead of me.TL;DR I used to be a brony, then I stop and hated the show and its fans. Then I came back to enjoying it after my first ever binge-watching of a show. Fun stuff.

Hi there, I'm Slammy. I already did a lot of typing for the previous section so I'm mostly going to copy and past from my about me box.

Also, yes, that story is 100% true about my history with bronies. Fascinating, isn't it?

Anyways, I'm glad to be on here now and hope to stick around. I kinda have to after such a dramatic introduction, right? Probably not but you get my point.

Here is the copy and paste from my profile, enjoy it!

Hobbies:

  • Writing - Mainly either comedic or horror. I tend to write stuff like screenplays, though I do write short stories and experimental stuff every now and then. Oh, and shout out to anyone who goes on the SCP Foundation! That place is great.
  • Voice Acting - Still technically a casual but its fun for me. I'm working on improving everyday.
  • Gaming - Video games are fun, which is why I play them. I do have some favorites and I'll list 'em later but it changes all the time.
  • Drawing - Or maybe I should say "Drawing". I doodle wacky little stick dudes all the time, nothing more complicated than that.
  • Video Production - Making videos of any kind is fun for me, even though I don't upload half of 'em.
  • Tabletop RPGs - Stuff like DnD is very common among me and my friends, it's a blast to play. We mostly do our own homebrew fallout system or DnD 3.5, though we are looking into Pathfinder. We are also working on two of our own systems for these cool ideas we had.
  • Hiking - I love walking through nature, so I always jump at the chance I get to do so, even if it isn't often.

Favorite Games:

  • Fallout Series - Easily my favorite, has been for years since I got 3 for Christmas a long time ago. I've grown to love the series as a whole with New Vegas being my favorite and 4 being my least favorite. If you wanna know just how much I love New Vegas, my playtime is 400 hours and counting. Yeah...
  • Team Fortress 2 - An old favorite of mine, started off on the Xbox then moved to PC when it went F2P. It's what got me into PC gaming, actually. I have more hours than I'd care to admit in this game but god dang its so fun both competitively and casually. I'm also looking to start a new team so let me know if you are, people say I'm a good Medic  ;).
  • Pokemon - I play competitive Pokemon on and off. I like to think I'm pretty dang good but I'm probably not that much of hot stuff. I love using underrated pokemon and I made it quite far on Showdown once with an underdog team (1600-1700 rank on Showdown. Singles OU).
  • Garry's Mod - The ultimate mess around game for me, most of my hours are goofing off on RP servers doing all sorts of wacky things. I'm always itching to play so message me if you love doing wacky scenarios on random servers.
  • Mother Series - My favorites is Mother 3, but Earthbound is awesome too. I'm actually pretty new when it comes to being a fan, as I only started my Earthbound play-through in late 2014, but damn these games are good.
  • Undertale - It's okay I guess.
  • Paper Mario: TTYD - This game is amazing and if you haven't played it PLAY IT GOD DAMNIT. It's good, okay?
  • Kirby Series - A childhood fav that I still enjoy today. Amazing Mirror is the best, don't deny it.
  • I got a bunch more fav games but I'll be typing all day if I listed 'em. PM or something if you're just dying to know.

Personal Info

  • I'm 17 at the time of writing, which I guess is pretty neat.
  • Born and raised in New Jersey, USA.
  • That's literally all the personal info you are going to get because I don't like giving stuff out online! Also you'll never see my face, please don't bug me for it.

Welcome welcome welcome welcome fellow writer and Pokemon fan! I hope you have a fantastic time within our extraordinary community and befriend many of all our amazing members. Enjoy yourself, and hopefully your return as a full-fledged brony has no serious negative consequences, which I highly doubt would or should be the case; anyone should be allowed to enjoy anything that interests them and keeps their life pleasant. :)

Yeah, I've been feeling pretty good since I admitted to myself that I still like the show and there is nothing wrong with that. I've been feeling extremely happy and motivated lately and have been way more social, even if some people act a bit rude/weird about it. I've kind of learned to just play along with people like that. Who knew that being a brony had so many benefits! haha

Hi there! I'm glad to see you have made some friends! I also love Fallout 3. Have you played Dragon Age? Its pretty good, another RPG on the PC (it may be on another console but idk if it is). Anyway, it is nice to have you here.

Can't say that I have played Dragon Age before, but people keep telling me about it so maybe I should. Thank you for the welcome though!
