Emerlad wanted to be there when he finished, she would have to fly there was not using her rear leg, for a week the doc said. She extended her wings just to check that they worked which they did.

Darklight smiled at emeralds remark "been meaning to ask you about that, how often do you two feed on each other, iv always wondered how feeding on your special sompony would be like, all." seeing the reaction on summers face she was abel to chuckle

Summer started first. "They see each other two weeks out of the month and when I see them together they can't keep there damn hooves off each other and...Emerald your really loud."

 

Emerald blushed from that. "Oh wow, really? Oh i'm sorry Summer." She looked to Darklight. "Lets just say that Summer is right we feed among other things a lot when we see one another we have a very hooves on relationship as well as a lot of emotion." Emerald blushed some more.

darklights eyes went big, hearing that from emerald and belly laughed making loyal jump and give a quizzical look at the laughing darklight. Darklight waved her hoof "I'm good loyal just" dark light laugh a bit less then following up with a breath to speak. Shaking her head then said

 

"good, didn't mean to get you to blush like that em just him growing up he was the shyest pony you would ever have met, Willows bit didn't help but good to hear he's gotten oven that." darklight said.

 

She then coughed trying to hide her own blush as well, "I'm honestly not surprised if he's a bit clingy. That's all him if you have wondered, all though If he dose win...." darklight looked at the tv.

 

"I'm just glad we don't have to arrange a wife for him now" she said.

 

Loyal catching on what was being said placed her head on emeralds tummy like she was listening, darklight saw her do that as well. "loyal I don't think we need to worry about that if she was then this would be a different conversation" said the eyepatched mare

 

Loyal lifted her head back up looking at emerald with an apologetic look then resumed her work on the cuti mark

"I don't think we are anywhere near that stage Loyal in a few years maybe, I actually did not think I could get pregnant anyway we haven't been using anything nothing's happened so far might change that now."

"Sorry Summer, so my cutie mark is going to be ok? I mean." She looked down to her leg again it was a real mess. "He had a good go at removing it, why was he after part of my soul anyway?"

Loyal held up a hoof digging around in her med box she came back up from it with a stitching needle, a jar with an ointment label, and some yarn. She looked at emerald with a look that said don't get made please.

 

Darklight cocked her head then caught on "ahh well again it'll be fine" she looked at emerald "she's going to try to numb the mark before the stitching begins, hence why your in the bed really to let the stiches set in" darklight said

"I don't think Loyal can make any pain equal to him trying to cut if off me, not in a million years." Nevertheless Emerald laid back and tensed herself waiting for the inevitable pain of have a needle stuck in her. "Summer can you come let me squeeze your hoof?" Summer walked over and offered her hoof to Emerald.

 

"Anything for you Em."

"His phone number is a little strange, 4-26-3733, call me if you get it working. His phone number sometimes changes based on the hour." Façade said, he peeked into the box and started pulling out the different pieces. He made about thirty-eight different piles sorting out the piece. Red wires, blue ones, bolts, broken metal.

 

Façade took those pieces that had been broken, and had them quickly reforged. After about an hour at the smithy's. Façade returned to the apartment. He also had picked up his swords, and he returned and saw that the phone had finally connected.

 

And a familiar alicorn appeared. "Façade? Is that another one of your associates? Wait.... Is that... Hmm. I think I've seen you before. In Ponyville. Nah. What did you two need?"

@, "The names dark beak probably seen me selling my trade of being a merchant and all, Facde said you know something about robotics?" the gryphon said holding up the mares wing. "I'm thinking of rebuilding this and getting info out of it" said dark beak looking at the camera

In the maze cresent moved towards the piano then looked at the gate leading to a flight of stairs, wordlessly he began to tap the keys with his wings. He glanced over at wane who seemed to be getting darker, he paused moved over towards wane turning him over and seeing "bite me sideways...." he said  

 

What cresent stood over was the changeling, not in the form of wane but in its natural form knocked out. Cresent carefully picked the changeling up moved him towards the piano propping him up to lean on it.  

 

Cresent rarely ran into changelings and never really befriended one, with this going on what in the blaze's was it doing here. Cresent knew one thing for sure, if this changeling did win this it wouldn't survive the hall or after the trials. He moved back to the piano trying to work out which notes were what. some of them were able to control the other monitor, cresent only hopped things were going well for his mate.  

 

The changeling opened its blue eyes looking around, seeing cresent at the piano it got up

 

Cresent wing shot out at the changelings neck slamming him back down cresent inches away from it face "where is the real wane" he said

@@Mentis Soliloquy, Darklight nodded at loyal to start her work, she nodded back and gingerly placed the cool cream onto the wound. Dark light look towards the mirror "well our changeling has been discovered wonder what cres will do with him" she wondered out loud

Emerald hissed as she was worked on and squeezed Summer's hoof tightly. "I might of been a little wrong this might hurt a lot." She hissed again.

 

"It's ok Em you just hiss and squeeze me just bear with the pain it will be over soon."

 

"Thanks...Summer..." Emerald just tried to bear with the pain.

@@Mentis Soliloquy, loyal paused hand a lolypop towards summer to give to emerald. and continued dabbing at the scared mark, after a bit she looked at emerald cocking her head like a bird giving an apologetic look. Patting emeralds hoof loyal went back to her ointment, pausing a bit then sat down moving towards her sewing needed she looked at Darklight to translate

 

"hows it feeling she wont start sowing till you feel it go numb" darklight said

The changelings face showed fear more then anything "please, I need this, he killed my family" her voice shaken. Cresent picked her up moving onto the piano itself "you turn into my cousin, send two giant monitors at me, and then ask for your life!" cresent yelled.  

 

The changeling coughed  up blood now "you don't understand I..I...my people are..." cresent played a few keys sending the monitor in motion.  

 

"please you must understand I only did that to"

 

"kill me, take the crown, invade manity" said cresent pausing his playing

 

"He bleed my family dry in front of me!" said the changeling

 

cresent stopped playing eyes wide. looking at the changeling he pulled her forward to him, "if what your saying is true it still wont help you in this land. and sense we are on tv everypony in manity knows you now. you will die if you win this crown ethier way."

 

"but...but he said...he'll do the same....please please prince have mercy!" the changeling was balling now

 

"oh for Luna's sake just kill it!" said a thief voice.

 

Cresent turned around seeing dark heart on the other side of the "uncle?" said cresent

"We can't let her die!" Summer stared at the mirror in dread for the changeling. 

 

"I can't feel my leg now Loyal go on sew me up doc."

"We can't interfere her fate is tied to Crescent and his uncle."

The changing's eyes went wider seeing dark heart "you...." tears still streaming as she looked at dark heart. She then looked at cresent "just do it" she said

 

Cresent looked back "what?"

 

"kill me, I have no family, I leave this maze they will kill me too, I just"

 

"you herd the changeling cresent, now be a merciful prince" dark heart said

 

Cresent looked back and forth between the two of them, "a second ago your begging me to spare you now your asking for your death?" he asked

 

"iv failed, there's no more room for me on this world. If you wont" she got off the piano and began to gallop towards the edge.

 

"NO!" cresent deactivated the gauntlet spread his wings and tackled the changeling before she could reach the edge.

 

"get off of me! let me die in peace!" she punched him weakly but he still held on.

 

"let her go cresent!" said dark heart now banging on the fence

 

Cresent rolled the changeling over pinning her "stop...ill vouch for you after this and make things better"

 

The changeling glared at the bat pony "how, by turning me. wane already did that and its been hell ever sense if you truly want to help let me go!" she head butted cresent with her horn making cresent bleed from the gash forcing cresent to let her go to wipe the blood out of his eye.

 

when he cleared it she was gone. "no, no!" cresent galloped towards the ledge but couldn't see anything or hear any other blood beat....
 ----

Darklight closed her eye seeing the changeling jump from the edge, then hearing summer she moved up standing by just in case. She knew it was never easy seeing something like that and only hopped summer wouldn't do something to hurt herself.  

 

Loyal nodded and began her work on emeralds leg

Summer cried out. "NO.............!!" She sat still for a moment before all the vampires in the room heard the heart thumping in her chest. She stood up and glow came around her again, her voice demonic. "THERE WILL BE ONE FINAL TEST FOR DARK HEART!!" She stormed from the room punching the door off the hinges.

Dark light cursed "emerald leave this to me" Dark light shot out towards summer stopping in front of her with 5 heavily armored gryphons

 

"summer stand down!" darklights eye turned full purple matching with summers eye and for some reason again summer in all her angry felt unmovable like how she felt when cresent froze her on the skiff.

 

Dark lights voice seemed to echo in summer's head even though her mouth didn't move summer could still hear her voice "YOU WILL TURN AROUND, YOU WILL STAY IN THE ROOM, YOU WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH THE TRIALS"

"YOU STAND AGAINST ME?!" She bellowed in laughter. "YOU'LL NEED MORE GRIFFONS!" He voice was still demonic in nature and a pair of the griffons back off a little. "I KILLED YOUR BROTHER LIKE THIS AND HE WAS THE SIZE OF A CART WHAT ARE YOU LIGHT...To my darkness?" She went to move past them.

"SO BE IT!"

 

Before summer knew what happened she was flat on the ground with darkness clouding her vision save a purple eye of darklight  glowing angrily at her. Soon followed by darkness, she woke up back in darklights room darklight looked like she had ran a marathon and then the world after that seeing emerald on the bed with loyal looking over her and not emerald.  

 

Darklight looked at summer and smiled "I'm your new blood teacher, and with that being out of the way please don't get that angry in the castle again. you put half of our guards in the hospital. don't worry no griffon died. they just wont like you for a while" she said

 

summer then noticed chains around her legs. "and don't worry dark heart is going to get his just deserts" dark light said nodding towards the mirror

Cresent was still in shock of what just happened himself as darkheart finely snapped him out of it "we will find wane don't worry. but if it matters he did put the hit on you"

 

Cresent turned towards the elder batpony "say that again?"

 

"wane told me before hoof he did that, think about it cresent dose it surprise you at all?" he said back towards the stair case "now come on you got a crown to get" he said

 

Cresent was about to follow when he stopped "hold on, wane told you and you did nothing?"

 

Dark heart sighed "don't make me work so hard, I was going to kill him in here but then that changeling happened and well now I still got to carry out my oath"

 

"but, but I don't want the crown uncle" cresent said

 

"oh I know, but you don't understand. I will do all the string pulling you will be the face is all. they love you already enough" dark heart said.

 

"um how about, no"

 

Dark heart blinked a bit "say that again?" the elder pony said

Summer sat up. "what happened?" As she rubbed her head again.

 

"You got mad, Sun I mean really mad you bucking glowed with rage and took the door off the hinges." 

 

"I...I don't remember." 

 

"You did not remember the last time either, you did not however hurt anyone this time."

 

"Well that's good, who stopped me?"

 

"Light did." Summer looked to Light.

Façade watched the scene unfold before him. He nearly vomited at what happened to the changling. Façade was near furious, Façade wanted to know who this older pony was. Wane had known about it. Well, damn these "games" to hell. Crescent and Wane were arguing over the crown. Huh, and this was on live television... Façade looked out the window. There was the castle. Façade considered his options. Then he looked and suddenly he knew how he could get in. Slowly exiting while Dark Beak worked on the robot mare, Façade exited the hotel room. He ran up to the roof, and Façade felt the presence of Shade.

 

"I know what you're thinking Façade, and if I was to assault it... Nothing would happen to you. Except three ponies inside would know that it's you. They would never forgive you." Shade said.

 

"I expect that you've learned self control?" Façade asked.

 

"Sadly, I have. And I think that I will... If you cause enough of a mess on the first floor, the rest will come to aid the king. It could work, but Summer would remember what you had done."

 

"Yes, she would, but the killing of innocents, that I shall not stand for." Façade said.

 

"Then we will do it. But I cannot fly." Shade protested once more.

 

"Then teleport." Façade growled.

 

Façade let the shadow of Shade consume his form. He felt himself be pulled apart, and then he exploded into a vortex of shards. Shade looked up. He felt himself fully form. He was wearing ancient silver unicorn armor. Shade sadly didn't know many spells. But who couldn't say no to improvisation?

 

Shade teleported in a violent explosion of light and sound, and he was off.

 

After about fifteen minutes of teleporting and crashing. Shade looked up at the castle. And heard a guard set off an alarm. No pony was supposed to be near the castle during the games, unless they were to become a bloody snack.

 

Luckily for Shade, he was made of Shadow. Shade coalesced into a solid figure. He was a thing of black tendrils that sometimes would float off and then reattach. His eyes were pinpricks of purple, and his body resembled a skeleton.

 

In a deep voice that didn't below in this plane of existence. "I am one of the many creatures that inhabit the shadows like you. But I am far from anything like you."

Shade looked at the doors, and then sighed. "This is not a battle to be fought. It would not help anypony." A shift of light and sound, and Façade appeared again. Façade turned and took off. He was not needed here. He didn't need to meddle. Façade decided to head back to Equestria, where he might be needed. He boarded his ship, and found that it was still shipshape.

 

Then launching from the harbor, a familiar kick of the engine and a sputter that he had come to know. Façade set off to Equestria, am be he would go to waterfall that Crescent had spoken of, maybe not. Maybe Façade had had enough of vampires. Maybe not. Who knew? The small flying skiff flew over the water. And Façade then knew why he had come. And it was idiotic to say the least. To think that the situation could be made better was a lie.

 

Façade looked at the blood orange sun. He felt a sadness, it hurt. He found his satchel and pull out his headphones. And drowned his sorrows in the harmony of music.

 

"Home" was only a while away.

Dark light still looking worn out only smiled at summer her eye no longer the angry purple but back to normal  "your more powerfull then I thought, don't worry ill help you control it better"

As dark beak worked with the alicorn on the robot the two decided to take a wee break after dark beak shocked himself on one of the wires setting a few feathers on fire. As he got out of the bathroom with burn healing patch's he said out loud

 

"hey faced what I miss on the tube?" not hearing anything he looked around still not finding him. On the tv it sowed cresent looking like he was arguing with an older batpony. Dark beak scratched his head with his talons "and I thought cresent was the odd one" he looked back at the video caller screen after a bit "all right now where were we?" he addressed the alicorn

"its not that simple cresent there needs to be a winner" said dark heart

 

Cresent rolled his eyes "there is she sitting watching this whole thing play out you all just are so wrapped up in this bloody pure idea you wont let her. This is a waist of time at the end of this dark light gets the crown"

 

Dark heart blinked a bit, then laughed "that half blood one eyed mare?!" Dark heart laughed a bit more.

 

Cresent glared at his uncle "she's your daughter how could you say"

 

"adopted daughter cresent. Her blood isn't even royal or pure she only lives because of how we found her"

 

Crescents anger was flaring up again "so you bring her up as your own and still don't give her that's worse then teasing. Now you wont get the crown" said cresent beginning to walk past his uncle

 

"oh I know just remember our agreement then" dark heart said

 

"I didn't agree to anything so shut up and move out of my way. I'm ending this" cresent said

 

Dark hearts smile left after he said that, "shame, well I guess I'm going to pull a willow again"

 

"pull a what?" cresent turned back then felt a very sharp pain in his hindquarters bringing him down.

 

"oh I forgot to mention, I know who killed willow" darkheart leaned in "yours truly" he said in a whisper. Pulling back he held out his sword with his wing "but this time there wont be any more loose ends" and swung the sword at crescents' head....

Most of the room's attention was focused on Summer as she sat there looking like a lost lamb as she tried to recover from her rage induced something. Emerald looked back to see Crescent being attacked by his uncle, her eyes went wide. "CRES!!" She Immediately tried to sit up, but fell back crying in pain. "I can lay here and let him die!" She extended her wings...

Darklight winced seeing the slash cresent took then hearing emerald she moved over to her not in the mood for another fight she simple held her hoof "emerald listen to me" seeing the mare look at her she breathed out

 

"you love him, a blind pony can see that. With as much love as you've given him why doubt he wont return it?" she looked at the mirror.

 

"he'll pull through you'll see" she finished. As much as darklight wanted to jump into the match and stop it she knew it wouldn't solve anything, this truly was her cousins battle.

Cresent rolled away from the sword strike that would have gotten his neck then jumped using his forhoofs and landed shakily away from Dark heart drawing the gauntlet blade out again. Spreading his wings and giving a mighty yell the two vampiers rushed towards each other.

 

The strikes cresent made at first was easily block or deflected by his uncle who responded with attacks of diffret openings, things were getting bloody as cresent's strike finally made contact into his uncle as the hits were deep and almost ragged. Dark heart turned the tables soon though with a familiar trick he'd seen cresent use, by slamming his wings sending a gust towards cresent blowing him off. 

 

 Cresent growled back flattening his wings close to his body during the recover, and charged his uncle.....

 

The camra must have been slow again as the two ponys blared into each other again but the end result was cresent's blade in dark hearts chest but also dark hearts blade in his chest as well

It as dark lights turn to scream seeing the blade in her adopted fathers chest and his blade in cresent "FATHER!"  she cried loyal stopped working on emerald and held dark light back from getting close to the mirror

Emerald looked on in the mirror as the two struck one another, possible fatal blows. "We can't just stay here if they both die no one will be king, we must do something!" She tried to get up again but the pain was worse then when she died, nothing on this earth was near what she felt.

 

Summer was still a little dazed and confused.

Cresent was having a harder time breathing, they both knew what was going to happen. one would have to feed on the loser to recover "why, all this...trouble" cresent gasped  

 

"the pure, shall, always...rule" dark heart breathed out

 

"we...cant...stay...pure..." cresent said or more coughed up.

 

"we...shall..see" dark heart pulled out the blade in cresent as cresent did likewise. They both moved slow but still had energy, dark heart moved in for the neck while cresnt back up "for willow" cresent breathed out. And with a cry cresent blade went through his uncels neck serving the head clean off.  

 

Cresent sat down at the stool of the piano, tired, upset, confused, and angry he didn't want to do what was needed. Yet he knew he was bleeding badly. trotting over to his uncels body he glared at it. "only to answer questions, sorry light" he bit down on the neck....

"NO! FATHER! FATHER!" creed dark light seeing the events play out loyal doing her best to stop the batpony. Her eye swam with tears as she was torn between it all. She stopped struggling then looking down at the silent but reassuring Loyal. She hugged the silent pony letting it all out.  

 

"its not fair, I didn't want them to kill, I didn't want any of this" she sobbed into the mare shoulder. Loyal only held Darklight tight rubbing her back.

 

"i just need" she began but was overtaken by tears again....

Dark beak herd the anoucner from the tv react to the events, he looked over seeing the replay of it all. His jaw hit the floor seeing it happen. He would never had known cresent to lop sompony's head off like that, It took a lot of strength for even gryphons to do, Dark beak shook his head. looking back at the almost completed robot "sorry got distracted, now to start her up, what do I need?" he asked the alicorn

Emerald was so relived she might of cried if no one was there, she looked to Light who had lost her composure and was balling into Loyal's shoulder she did not blame her not at all to lose one's father would be very painful. She looked back to her mirror. "...Dose that mean Cres is king?" She hoped not neither of them wanted to live here or rule a kingdom.
