gaming Wii Linux

Do you run Linux on your Wii? I read you can do that and installing Linux on my Wii sounds fun but I can't find anything that says whether or not you can still play Wii games. I guess it would make more sense to talk about this on a gaming forum, but since I don't play video games nearly enough to consider myself a gamer, I think it would be a bit weird to sign up for a forum just to post this thread.

I've never looked into it myself, but I'd guess that you would just launch it from the homebrew channel.

 

The Wii is rather limited in terms of hardware though, so I'm not sure if running Linux would serve much of a purpose other than novelty.

I didn't even know you could use Linux on the Wii.

But than again I've never used Linux in general before either.

It looks like you can boot it from the Homebrew Channel inside the original firmware.

You'll have to install the Homebrew Channel first, though.
