Sigma gave a pained expression when Dust looked at him. His better judgement told him not to ask her anymore about her past but his strong curiosity made it hard.

"Yeah, you're right. I come from Canterlot myself and, impressive as it is, can get a bit dull."

 

They entered a dining hall that was much darker than the reception. The walls were lined with portraits, presumably of VIP guests from older times. The left wall had a collection of suits of pony armour, like that of the Royal Guard and a what seemed to be a replica of Commander Hurricane's armor

Dust noticed Sigma's reaction and sighed."listen, i know you want to know more. Maybe ill tell you some day, just not yet now." she smiles to him. "Heck,maybe we will get some fun together" she winks at him then looks in his eyes in a sad yet a little happy look

Mentis notice the way Dust responded to Sigma as he was reading a menu. Well great the mares around here have eyes for others well there goes my chances of anything like that happening for me this trip, yay. Mentis went back to reading. "This food looks expensive."

Diva jumped in place, the shower seeming to restore her back to full energy. "YES YES! LET'S GOO~" she excitedly said, skipping down the corridor towards the ski rentals.

Good thing this strange holiday is all inclusive" That was Sigmas default way of escaping awkward conversations. Talk about something else entirely. Darn you curiosity.

 

She winked at me. he thought. And while talking about having fun together?... He hoped that she didn't misinterpret his kiss in Spin-the-bottle. Well, he did come here for fun but he would rather just have friends, at least at first.

Mist smiled as he followed Diva to the ski rentals. He had never met anypony with as much energy as her and that was something about her that he really liked. When they reached the rental place he ordered two sets of skis, one for him and one for Diva. He handed Diva her skis, "you ever been skiing before?" he asked.

"That is odd now that you bring it up I usually have my costs covered by the crown but that is when i'm working being here by invitation all expenses payed well somthing smells off about it." He looked back to both of them, not catching Dust's eye's he was embarrassed that none of the mares were really talking to him.

Diva shook her head. "NOPE. I'VE GONE SURFING BEFORE, THOUGH. PRETTY MUCH THE SAME THING... RIGHT?" She proudly proclaimed, twirling her ski poles around with her wings much to the chagrin of the staff. "Do you? I'll need somepony to catch me when I fall~" she cooed, fluttering her eyelashes at Mist.

She giggles."Hey, dont be scared. You couldnt know." she looks to him to try and read his reaction from his face.

 

"Maybe we should head to the lobby and see what else there is to do? I mean this hotel sure has more then food and skiing" She smiles.

She thinks again.What if i might find my someone here?

She did not even talk to me? Aw... "I...I think that is a good idea Dust we can get our bearings and find somthing else to do I think we've seen all there has to be seem of the dinning room." Mentis took a few steps towards the exit back towards the main reception area, only a few mind you.

Diva's eyelash fluttering made Mist face go a deep shade of red. "To tell you the truth," Mist said to Diva, "this is actually my first time skiing too. But i still promise to catch you if you fall." When Mist got to the top of the slop with Diva he smiled at the horizen, "this view is the second most beautiful thing i've ever seen," he turned to look at Diva, "and right now i'm looking at the first most beautiful."

Diva laughed. "You're gonna run out of things to say, you know?" she challenged, strapping on her skis and looking to the horizon. She sighed. "This really... is beautiful. Seeing the Sun set behind the mountains..." her voice trailed off, mesmerized by the sight. She shook her head and pushed herself forward on the skis. "Hey! This is easy!" she commented, building up speed as she ski'd down the not very steep slope. As she went faster and faster, a steeper slope came into sight. "ER, HOW DO I STOP?!" She panickedly called behind her

Mist heard Diva's call and reacted without hesitation. He sped down the slope after her. Mist realised he wasn't going fast enough so he flapped his wings to gain extra speed. When Mist came up beside Diva he carefully took hold of her and brought them both to a stop. "I think you do something like that," Mist said trying to catch his breath.

Diva's face turned a light shade of pink from embarassment. "Yeah, forgot about these" she admitted, fluttering her wings to demonstrate. 'Pretty sure there's a better way to do it, though. If not how do earth ponies ski?' Diva wondered to herself. 

 

"Let's go slowly together" she suggested, taking hold of Mist's wing with her own and beginning to slide slightly on the snow.

"I'd like that," Mist said as he slid slowley with her. He smiled as they skiied together. He'd didn't remember a time when he had been this happy. Mist should have tried skiing years ago. Although as he though about it he felt his happiness probably had more to do with Diva. Mist felt the cool breeze on his skin as he sliding. He turned to Diva, "you having fun?" he asked.

Diva let her feelings roam for a while. The cool breeze that swept through her fur from the faraway mountains as she ski'd along the pristine white, untouched powder snow together with one of the nicest, most charming ponies she had come to know...

 

"Yes. Yes I am" she joyfully admitted.

 

Meanwhile, something else had caught her eye.

 

"Mist. There's a line in the snow over there. Somepony else was here recently! Could it be who I think it is?" she asked in excitement.

"If you think that it could be Lightning," said Mist happily, "then I think you could be right. Come on." Mist followed the ski lines, carefully guiding Diva along side him, until he saw a pony snowboarding in the distance, "Lightning!" he shouted while waving, "is that you?"

Dust looks at Mentis. ''We 2 haven't talk yet,'' She smiles. ''Don't want you to feel left out. I mean that wouldn't be nice.'''She smiles a little at him. ''So, why did you live in Canterlot, yet born in Cloudsville?'' She looks at the ground. ´´Í mean....i understand why i would leave but i didnt.... But why did you leave?´´

"If you think that it could be Lightning," said Mist happily, "then I think you could be right. Come on." Mist followed the ski lines, carefully guiding Diva along side him, until he saw a pony snowboarding in the distance, "Lightning!" he shouted while waving, "is that you?"

Lightning veered to the side, ripping up the snow he had just carved his way through.

 

He looked toward the direction of his name, breaking the tranquility of the white tipped mountains.

 

He unlatched one of his boots, using his free one to drag himself toward the sound, and at closer inspection, to Mist and Diva.

 

"Sup." He grinned at both of them fumbling awkwardly in their skis.

Sigma walked along with them back into the lobby. He wondered a similar thing to Dust. He had lived in roughly the same part of Canterlot all his life, so moving to a completely new place must have been hard, especially given that he moved to a city where the main pony type isn’t yours. In his mind he wondered if he himself would be comfortable living in an Earth Pony area. Appleoosa maybe. Yet there he was. In the company of a several Pegasi and a Bat-pony.

 

There was a window in the lobby and he saw a grey dot and a blue dot some way down the hill. Probably Diva and Mist out for a ski. He wouldn’t mind trying it in a while. He also noticed that there was a lonely bag with a skateboard lying near reception. While still trying to listen to Mentis’ response, he stared at the bag curiously.

"Well I don't really know why I left my mother and I moved to Canterlot for her job I suppose and that became my job too. I remember little of Cloudsdale in my youth I mean I've been back many times I really consider myself a Canterlot pony more than a Cloudsdale one now, it was where I was born but me and my mother live in the capitol these days. Why we left is from mom's job and mine now we are royal scribes so Canterlot is where the good portion of the work is but there is also much to be done around the country I love visiting the Crystal Empire stunning city." That made Mentis smile. 

 

He then looked to the bad. "Isn't that Lightning's skateboard?"

Mist smiled when he saw that the snowboarder was indeed Lightning, "not much," Mist replied, "me and Diva just came back from the sauna and decided to try our hoof at skiing. What about you though? I thought that you were going to explore the hotel with everyone else." said Mist.

"Nah, that's too boring. Thought I'd try my luck out here, and whaddya know, I'm a natural."

He sensed an intimate relationship between Mist and Diva, I mean... Sauna, skiing, constantly flirting? How obvious can it get?

"So, uh, Mist. How are, "things" goin' for ya." He nodded at Diva, chucking a quick wink at Mist.

Diva turned to Mist questionably. "You gotta let the whole world know, don't you?" She teased, smiling. "Or were we that obvious? Were we obvious?" She wondered out loud, just noticing that she was still holding Mist's wings. "I dunno!" She said with a grin, gesturing with her free wing

Mist blushed slightly at Lightning's question, "it's that obvious is it?" he asked, "well if you must know me and Diva have been bonding. In fact we have plans for dinner tonight." Mist looked up at the sun which was almost set and turned to Diva, "speaking of maybe we should head in before it gets dark." he said to her.
