movies/tv Top 10 Cartoons of the 2010s

Based mainly on my own opinion but also influenced by level of popularity/success.

10. Regular Show - The kind of show you would watch for some good laughs and wacky antics, nothing groundbreaking imo.

9. The Amazing World of Gumball - Similar of Regular Show, but better imo.

8. Star vs the Forces of Evil - Started off decent with a fairly simple process, seems to get better with every episode.

7. Futurama (CC reboot) - Almost definitely cheating with this one as Futurama first aired in 1999, but after it was brought back by Comedy Central in 2010 it could have gone so much worse, but whilst it wasn't as good as the original run, it remained a very decent adult cartoon, avoiding the seasonal rot of shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy.

6. Adventure Time - Only seen about 13 episodes so far, looks a little overrated to me, but can't knock it's success and it has a very good concept.

5. Rick and Morty - Only seen the first season so far, the complete carelessness of Rick and the carefulness of Morty makes great comedy duo

4. Dan Vs - Extremely underrated imo, Dan is actually a very relateable character, don't we all just want revenge from time to time.

3. Steven Universe - Took a while for me to really dig this series but I can now see why it´s loved by so many. The Crystal Gems are all such great characters and the narrative of the Gems raid of Earth is becoming interesting.

2. My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic - Great characters, wonderful animation and a very fun fanbase. Probably remains my favourite due to sentiment alone, without MLP I probably wouldn't have even seen any of the others.

1. Gravity Falls - It's amazing that this is on the Disney Channel. What great about Gravity Falls is it's narrative, always introducing new and wonderful concept to a world of weirdness, always elements to figure out. Also takes so many risks that makes watching an exciting time.

There are still many shows from this decade I haven't seen that sound great, Wonder over Yonder, We Bare Bears, Legend of Korra, Harvey Beaks, Over the Garden Wall etc. It's safe to say that animation is picking back up after the dark age of 2005-2009, though I don't think it's yet returned to the level of the 90s and early 2000s.

Haven't been following cartoons as much as I'd like, but out of the ones I've seen:

1) Legend of Korra

2) FiM

3) Regular Show

4) Gravity Falls

5) Adventure Time

Edit: Can't believe I forgot Bob's Burgers. That'd probably be between Gravity Falls and Regular Show
