Who is the real villain of Undertale?

OK, Massive Spoilers in this post, If you have not played Undertale, do not read on.

I Am confused to who is the true villain of Undertale. Is it Chara, Flowey/Asriel, Asgore, W.D Gaster or You? Apparently Chara poisoned herself to get Asriel into massive trouble, the vilagers thought that Asriel killed Chara, so they attacked him and he died from his injuries. However, Asgore wants the Human Souls for himself, and there is W.D Gaster, who is the most mysterious character of the game. So who is the real villain? Chara?

Toby Fox, Scott Cawthon and Hideo Kojima are so similar in the fact that they confuse their players.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be Chara. S/he corrupted Asriel and hatched a plan to erase the monster world from existence. In the genocide route it's implied that Chara infected/controlled Frisk when Frisk fell on the golden flowers.

Not a very nice person x_x

I have played every route 2 times or more and honestly, there is no true villain in the Undertale universe It all matters on what route you take. If you choose the Genocide route, Chara only appears in there exclusively right? Because yes, she is a completely different character from Frisk but Chara is supposed to represent YOU and of the terrible being you have become. Gaster would also not be the main villain behind Undertale, because he is an Easter Egg ONLY if you mess with the files.

Like I said before, there is no such thing as a TRUE villian of Undertale, it all depends on how you play the game.

Obviously, it's Asgore. All he had to do was use Red Soul, get past barrier, kill dude, find he has wrong soul colour, kill other dude, get right soul colour, go home, use souls, break barrier, reach surface, start party.

Gaster's just an idiot that killed himself by diving face-first into the timesploder.

Chara's just an angry psycho baby that wants to stab everything and delete the world to gain maximum EXP.

Flowey/Asriel is an idiot that can't decide if ur Chara or not.

I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. No True Villain? But what about the fact that Chara poisoned herself? And that it was all a massive setup?

Like I said, it's only on how you play the game. Chara maybe very evil, but she was only known to possess Frisk in the Genocide route. When you look at the facts.

- Genocide - You and Chara were the true villians

- Neutral - Depends who you kill and spare

- Pacifist - Flowey/Asriel

As Chara has done many things very wrong, there is NO true villain.

Yes, but here's the thing, Flowey was technically Chara and Alphys fault, Alphys is not a villain, but she inadvertently created Flowey, Chara poisoned herself with the buttercups. And she did it deliberately so that people would think Asriel murdered her. So they attacked Asriel and killed him. This would ignite a war, and it was Chara's plan all along.

Nobody is actually the real villain except for YOU. YOU are the one who awakened Chara, and frisk's determination is what tied her to Frisk. Chara being attached to Frisk is what made it look like she was possessed. Chara poisoned herself so Asriel could go through the barrier to collect 6 more human souls to free the monsters. Chara didn't even know buttercups were poisonous until accidently feeding them to Asgore. she only laughed it off as a coping mechanism. In the genocide run, she hesitates at the end, giving you one final chance to spare her brother, and bring back everyone. if you don't, she eventually asks if you think your above consequences. She doesn't understand you if you do the genocide run again, and finish it. Is it not what YOU wanted? is what she's implying. YOU are the one who forced her to kill her Family, and her friends. YOU pushed her to the limit, where she finally accepts the fact that the genocide run is the fate you've decided for her. in the pacifist run, in the final battle with asriel, Frisk has to remind the lost souls of all the happy times. When you go to SAVE Asriel, you need some memory to spare him. it's Chara who's memories bring him 'back to his senses' because frisk has no idea who asriel was, and YOU don't even have good memories of him because you only knew Flowey. Chara is meant to be a guide in the pacifist run, and the person to remind YOU that YOU are not above consequences in the genocide and post genocide runs. YOU are the true villain, nobody else.
