Hello, so as you might or might not know, i'm a black belt in Karate. The Shotokan style to be more exact.

 

So i have decided to share my love for the martial art with you guys through a RP! I'm thinking of some wacky academy were there is magic infused with the martial art and stuff, since i'm assuming that real martial arts training would be too boring for you guys. 

 

Oh and i should probably say that this wil be human, since i'm most familiar with that when it comes to Karate, and this is romance as well because look at my name x3

I have yet to decide on too much, so if you are interested then shoot a PM my way

Oh boy, Kung Fu... I tried that once, wasn't exactly my style though

 

So what do you propose we do? Some wacky magic related martial arts, or just normal martial arts? Also, what gender do you want to RP as?

I'd personally prefer magic be included in some fashion. I mean I love what I do, but I've never been one of those "they wouldn't do that in real life" kill joys in Kung Fu movies if you know what I mean.

Also, that seems a bit . . . I don't hodgepodge? Like whoever initially created the style just went for a grab bag of different techniques with no coordinating philosophy. (Especially considering some of those have outright contradicting philosophies to fighting.)

I'm up for this. You can scrap the back story if you want. She'll be training to be an MMA fighter in this, her style centered around muay thai & BJJ, but with counteroffensive practices of akido & wu-shu thrown in, using circular motion to either deflect strikes or throw her opponents.

Wow, so we are getting a lot of different fighting styles. Awesome!

 

 

 

Also i didn't spot the accidental double meaning, but it would be awesome if we could get a marriage going.

Right, sorry. And it's not like I have something against cross training. It's just that when creating fictional characters in a martial arts heavy story, a single style can be used to inform who that character is.

That's true, since martial arts are heavily philosophy based. However i think that because of all the different styles that we are using here, our characters will have a ton of variety

And skill level, especially because I seem to be the only one here who is not a blackbelt or equivalent. Don't expect me to be sparring with any of your characters unless it's a prank.

Well, that makes sense. But often in my dojo, we put green belts and black belts together in a spar, for the green belts to observe the black belts fighting style. However, i'm more then willing to act as an instructor or something like that if i'm too high up in the ranks xD

Any of the unarmed stuff? Samurai were trained to fight without their weapons as with.
