There is only one from where I live, I am a part of it

but we meet up on select days, (once every 3 to 4 months)

Well, thats another meetup skipped. If this keeps up I may never go to monthlies until they change location again. I have noticed that ever since these monthlies have switched to this nee location, way less bronies attend. We used to get over 80 people on many occasions, now its less that 40-60 people. So many people end up on the Not Going RSVP after seeing the location. The organizers need to get the hint and change location. Its not going to be all love and tolerate when somebody is mugged and seriously injured by some thug in Harlem.

Has anyone contacted the organizers and expressed their concern? It sucks that they're basically choosing a location based on proximity to where they live. 

 

They can always rent out Graham Prozpeck Haul like they did at PonyCon again. That place was..........not in Harlem at least.

The grand prospect hall is way to big of a location to host a small meetup group, plus its immensely expensive, I think that is one of the reasons why last ponycon was the last one due to the enormous amount of funds used for the location.

 

At the last meetup I was at, I brought up the concerns to many of the staff, and they basically downplayed it told me how nice the venue is, and said  they really want me to come as I am missing out, my response was I will see, as I wanted be nice about it, but I really wanted to say hell no I dont fell like getting mugged or shot and then go about lecturing them about how unsafe an irresponsible they are being, but of course that would not be very nice lol.

Oh I was being sarcastic. Grand Prospect Hall sucks. I do think that having it at a more central/safe location is very possible for a good price. You could always start a rival meet up.
