"Well, I USED to be a DJ," said Strobe.

 

"I used to sing and dance," replied Dancer.

"Oh, cool," Scarlet said, "I did Pop Standard."

Strobe and Dance shared a look, "With Red?" Dance asked. She was starting to get a weird feeling.

"Well, once," Scarlet answered, "I met him last night, and he seemed to be having some girl trouble. We played some music together, and I tried to help him forget about her."

[Octavia's Bow 2,035]

They hear a police car: "Was that Steady? And Nel? Red too?" Dance asked.

 

Strobe shot her an I told you so look.

"What?" Scarlet asked turning around. The car was gone before she could see it.

"Cop car. I know what we're doin' tomorrow. And I just got out, hoof it!"

"Well, if Red is involved with this, I need to go too."

The carriage continued to speed down the road, circling the mountain as it continued to climb.

 

"What's going to happen Nel?"

 

"I don't know, we'll see soon though." They sat together as the carriage entered a tunnel and bathed them in darkness.

Red was taken back as the carriage was bathed in darkness. He could hardly see his hoof in front of his face. He remained silent. He didn't know what was going to happen either, but like like Nel and Steady, he will find out soon enough.

"Should we, like, follow the carriage? I have a feeling if we wait long enough, we'll be picked up off the streets." Dancer said. Strobe nodded in agreement. Or maybe it was just a wub habit...

Light soon refilled the cabin as Canterlot quickly came into view when they began circling the mountains again. After crossing the main bridge to the city gates Nel could hear the loud creak of large golden doors as they opened. He looked outside the small barred window to find various ponies who seemed to be of higher class turn and look at him before resuming their business with slightly more urgency.

 

"It seems they at least have some clue of who we are."

"Of course it has to be here," Red said looking out the window. He put his hat over his eyes and sank into the seat. "No matter what happens, I end up back in Canterlot," he mumbled, "And I'll probably end up seeing her, like always."

 

 

 

 

 

"I agree," Scarlet said, "But where do you think they went?" She looked out to the now present carrage train. She noticed that most of the guards were either allicorns or unicorns. "Maybe Canterlot?" she asked.

"What?" Red asked, "Oh, it's nothing." He looked out the window one more time. After deciding it was safe, he spoke. "It's just that I've been here before, and usualy when I come here, it's not a good experiance."

 

"Well I think we should follow," Scarlet said. She got up. "Anypony agree with me?"

"What?" Red asked, "Oh, it's nothing." He looked out the window one more time. After deciding it was safe, he spoke. "It's just that I've been here before, and usualy when I come here, it's not a good experiance."

 

"Do you want to talk about it? You know you can tell us Red." Steady hugged him tighter as Nel sat next to them again.

 

"Yeah Red, were still buddies if you wanna talk."

"Well, I've straightened up now," Red started, "but I haven't always been the best guy out there. When my father called me a lady's man, he was right." Red snickered, "Well, when I was here one time, I met somepony. Let's just say we're not on good terms. It doesn't help she's an officer in the royal guard either."

"Damn Red, I didn't think you would be the player type. I expected even less that you would go for an officer of the royal guard!" Nel laughed a little as well and punched Red gently in the arm. Steady looked at them with slight confusion.

Red laughed uncomfortably. "Yeah, that's what I did while I was on the road," he said, "I found the mare sitting alone at a table, and you can guess the rest. Lately, I've been giving that up. I'm trying to settle down and have a real relationship."

"What?" Red asked, "Oh, it's nothing." He looked out the window one more time. After deciding it was safe, he spoke. "It's just that I've been here before, and usualy when I come here, it's not a good experiance."

 

"Well I think we should follow," Scarlet said. She got up. "Anypony agree with me?"

 

"Oh, I suppose," Says Dancer, getting up from her drink.

 

"Quickly, before she makes ME buy one," says Strobe.

"But what hap-" Steady was about to ask another question when the carriage came to a sudden stop. Nel peered outside again to find that they were now with in the inner gates of the castle. Guards lined each side of a large red carpet that led up to the main doors.

 

"There's a lot of staff here for three little musicians. I don't see what Celestia's problem is."

(For the record, my Internet is down. So I'll be on and off using my phone.)

 

"Okay," Scarlet said leading the way out the door. After trveling to Canterlot before preforming, she knew the way. "We should have a plan for when we get there," Scarlet said.

 

"Yeah," Red replied scratching the back of his neck, "It doesn't help that one of these guards already want to take me down."

"Don't worry so much Red. Let's just get this over with." As Nel spoke the doors to the carriage swung open and each of them were pulled out into the bright sun.

 

The group was led through the doorway and down the main hallway. They had almost reached the entrance to the courts room when a particular guard stopped them.

Red stiffened up. This was the guard he was talking about. He didn't know what will happen next. The last time they met, he had two black eyes. He cringed and stuttered as he tries to form words. "Um.. Afternoon, Commander," he finally said.

Nel and Steady looked between the two uncertainly.

 

"Um do you mind telling us what we're doing here?" Nel flinched when the officer gave him a glare. Steady stood next to Red and stood her ground.

"Uh... These are my friends," Red said trying to make the commander say something, "This is Krooked Bass, we call him Nel, and this is Steady Beat." He forced a smile and tried to hide his fear from her.
