"Mother of Celestia," said Redwood as she shot out of bed. Alarms were blaring and every guard in the prison was trying to get things under control.

 

"Hooligan! We gotta get goin'!" urged Redwood as she ran in the direction of the explosions.

 

She saw one of the new prisoners riding on the back of a dragon at Kurren$y's cell. Redwood couldn't believe what was happening, but that still didn't stop her. She took a running start towards Acrylic and managed to leap onto the dragon, grabbing onto its neck.

Mercury almost jumped out of her skin.

 

Explosions and fire alarms; definitely not on her schedule.

 

She struggled with her blanket for a few seconds. After wriggling free, she galloped over to her cell door. It was the work of seconds to pick the lock with her horntip, and she flung the cell door open with a clang. The smell of smoke washed over her, and then fresh air. Mercury ran the other way, simple common sense.

 

The guards she saw were too busy panicking to catch her, for the most part. Her hooves were sore from running, but she pressed on, running towards the entrance. The heavy door hung slackly open; Mercury presumed the guard had run away. She dashed through the door and started to crawl up the fence. Her hooves slipped several times, but soon, she was nearing the top.

Hooligan ran behind Redwood confused and to be honest kinda impressed by he chaos that was going on around him. Hooligan saw who was behind this chaos and looked up at him, "you know for a kid who i don't even know the name of you sure do know how to make an impression."

"Quit complementin' him and gimme a hoof here," said Redwood as she climbed her way onto the dragon's back.

 

It had been a long time since she had seen any sort of real combat, and this was bringing back a lot of memories from her military days. Redwood had to stay focused, as this was practically an act of terrorism.

Shadow woke up to the alarm, then he grabbed his scythe, and stormed to the cells. He yelled so everyone heard, 

"Everyone just stop and return to your places, or I will attack all of ya."

 

The prison died down as prisoners and guards stopped what they were doing and turned to Shadow

"Sir, we could use some help over here!" called Redwood when Shadow flew up.

 

Even though she could more than handle herself in a fight, Shadow seemed much more suited to be taking on a dragon than she was. Redwood was determined to get this under control though, and the dragon seemed like the most important target.

"Oh right sorry babe," he said as he teleported up on the dragon's back and help Redwwod stabilise herself, "but you have to admit, it's pretty impressive, I mean it's a dragon, how many ponies can say they rode a dragon? Honestly, this is gonna be one hell of a story to tell our kids."

Starry ran from the guards after using one of the spells she learned a while ago on one of them and could feel her skin growing darker. She stopped and skidded to a halt at the last tree that had shade. She levitated her mask and hood on, then ran. When she saw a pony climbing a fence, She teleported on top and said, 

"Could I ask why you're climbing instead of going through the front gate?"

Mercury blinked, before glancing to the open gate. "Because I'm an idiot, apparently," she said, quite bewildered. "Ah, well, might as well finish what I've started."

 

She continued to climb right up to the top, perching on the fence. "Also, it's so much easier to hold a pleasant conversation when we're at the same level," she said. Her gaze grew flat. "Now, what the hay do you want?"

Acrylic noticed the guards on Eruption behind him and Shadow drawing closer, he realized that if he waited for Kurren$y any longer, he wasn't gonna make it out.

 

"Sorry Kurren, but if you don't get on right now, I'll have to leave. Hurry up!" He yelled, readying a magic attack to knock those pesky guards off of Eruption's back.

Redwood saw what Acrylic was doing and moved forward to grab him around the neck, making sure that she kept her footing on the dragon.

 

"Hooligan, help me get him restrained," she said, keeping a tight grip on Acrylic's neck.

 

This was bad, but hopefully they could get the situation under control.

"Umm, you see."

Then she heard guards yelling, she turned to see one of them dragging a crystallized leg behind him.

She called out, 

"Sorry, I didn't mean that to happen."

But it basically fell of deaf ears

Shadow opened his wings, flew towards Acrylic and said as he grabbed him and placed the blade next to his neck,

"Get off the dragon, and we won't have a bigger problem."

"Argh," was the first thing Acrylic said as he felt himself grabbed from behind, he struggled a little at first but when Shadow showed up he gave up all hopes of escape.

 

"Fine." He said as he got off of Eruption and landed on the ground, burning and charred as it was. After hearing one of the guards' question, he responded.

 

"He's not mine, he's a friend who owed me a favor, and his name is Eruption." He looked back at his friend and motioned with his head for him to hurry and leave. As his friend flew off into the sunrise, Acrylic yelled after him.

 

"Goodbye! And take good care of your family! *sigh* Now I'm never getting out of here for sure." He said, sounding as sad as the word itself. "But at least we destroyed most of this hell-hole, where are you chumps gonna keep me now?"

But now i'm a free stallion."

"Don't forget that yer mah free stallion," said Redwood before she gave Hooligan a kiss. "By th' way, nice work, honey."

 

This crisis seemed to have been averted fairly quickly. She was just glad that Kurren$y or any of the other dangerous prisoners hadn't gotten loose.

Acrylic almost laughed. "Pft, you think I could ever get out of here playing by the rules? My sentence totaled up at 276 years for everything I've done. And on top of all that I lost every meager penny I'd ever earned. So save your sympathy for someone who actually needs it." He said those last words with venom.

Hooligan's expression went dark, "have it your way kid," Hooligan said bluntly, "I tried to help, but if you just want to spend the rest of your life rotting in this hell hole then go for it. But trust me when i say escape isn't possible."

"Yeah, ah've already had enough fer one day with all of this happenin'," said Redwood as she began to walk away, leaving the scene for the cleanup crews. Even though it had been dealt with swiftly, this incident was nothing short of a disaster. Half the prison was destroyed, and she was sure that at least a few prisoners escaped.

Those words caught Acrylic's attention.

 

"Inescapable you say? You might as well have just dared me to find every way out of here. You don't know what I'm in here for do you? I'm Manehatten's greatest thief. I specialize in breaking, entering, stealing and escaping. There isn't anything I can't get out of, it's just a matter of time before I find a flaw and make my escape. Brute force didn't work so I guess I'll have to try something more subtle."

As he was walking, prisoners ran into their cell, even if it was blown up

"Well let's see what you've got then." Acrylic said sounding rather arrogant, "Cause I'm positive nothing you can dish out can be any more painful than my childhood was, and that was like hell on earth."

 

'But I doubt anything will ever hurt more than the feeling of betrayal I got when my friends turned on me for money. That was the most painful moment of my life.' He thought.

Ivy woke up as she heard a distant rumbling and saw few small rocks fell from the ceiling followed by a rain of dust. She realised she was still in the decayed cell. So all of that wasn't a dream. It seemed so surreal, though. Nightmare Moon herself when she was supposed to be an old legend to scare little fillies, and that strange unicorn who claimed that he brought her back to life. She still didn't accommodate with the idea that she died. She jumped off the broken bed on which Missklang materialised some blankets yesterday and looked arround. She saw Missklang in the corner, carving strange motives in the wall with a sharp piece of rock. She captured her gaze and smiled. 

 

Ah. You are at last awake. Hard to get rid of the old habits eh? Don't need to sleep anymore. You are tireless. Quite a nice perk. You can still doze off at will of course... Heard that? Something is being blasted to bits up there.

 

Another distant explosion made the walls shake and a new pile of dust covered Missklang who sneezed.

 

Now come. Let's get to the surface.

 

But...isn't it safer to wait out here?

 

She followed Missklang to the stairs that led up only to discover that they were blocked by rubble and stone.

 

Well, looks like we will stay here for a bit. With all this mess, nopony will remember about us. We are the last of their problems now.

 

But, we are going to starve to death!

 

Oh, don't worry. You don't need to eat either. Neither do I. And we can wait for few hours till I have enough magic restored to teleport us both up there. But I have a better idea. Come and punch that rock.

 

Ivy executed and was surprised to see the rock crumble in pieces. That strength was amazing. Missklang smiled.

 

Well, keep doing that, and hopefully we will be out of here in few hours...

Mercury spread her hooves wide. With a grin on her face, she tumbled backwards off of the fence. She rolled once she hit the ground and ran away, hooves burning. A flick of her tail and she had vanished behind a building. First thing, Mercury wanted to get her disguise on, if only for the familiarity. Then, she wanted her shoes back. She'd put far too much work into them to simply let the prison keep them.

 

They would have also been very expensive, if Mercury paid for her expensive things. Which she didn't.

Kurren$y woke with a splitting headache and blurry vision. As he came to Kurren$y could see only remnants of his cell. His door and a gravel covered crater made up what was left of his quarters. No longer encapsulated by walls, Kurren$y peeked his head outside, and beheld a scene of carnage. Rubble was everywhere, there were holes in the fence lining the perimeter of the fence, and guards were rushing around in an unorganized panic.

 

Whaaaaat!? Somepony wrecked more s*** than me? Maan, now I gotta put in overtime! What's the body count? . . . I'll find out later, this fresh air be needing me.

 

With that thought Kurren$y rolled out through a hole in the prison fence.

 

Aye we out! We made it! Le' go get them keys up!
