Shadow turned around and said as he's walking to his office,

Acrylic responded without a bit of worry in his voice, "Now what might that be?"

 

'What sort of hole did I just dig myself into?' He thought. 'But I've just got to stay strong, that's what Dahlia would want, so that's what I'll do. But for how long? My sentence is about three times my life span. So waiting it out is not an option. I've got to make a better escape plan.'

Kurren$y saw an unfamiliar pony havering as she ran past him. Behind him Kurren$y heard and became aware of the guards initially following the unknown pony.

 

why the f*** she gotta drag 12 my way? We ain't running from no bears.

 

Kurren$y began running through thickets hoping to get away from the estranged guards and kept an eye out for a fox hole to hide in.

Half the guard started chasing him as one of them yell, 

"Halt, or you will suffer the consequences."

When Shadow enter his office, he went to his chest in the corner of the room and said, 

"I have a few question to ask you. Do you have any health problems, does any type of relic does more harm than good, and do you have any bone that didn't heal properly?"

"Hmm..." Acrylic thought about the questions for a moment. "No, no, and, no. I've always been pretty healthy and the relics I've been hired to steal have never had any sort of effect on me."

 

'Why is he asking these questions? Does he have some sort of torture method planned out?'

Mercury wandered.

 

Wandered was really the only word for it. Casually, Mercury picked the back door of a still-closed shop, went inside. She snatched a pair of saddlebags and emptied the cash register before she strolled out, alarm blaring. It was laughably easy to disappear after that.

 

She wandered the streets until the sun was high and the streets were busy. She noted the looks her horn-ring and collar brought her. That was rather an obvious hallmark, wasn't it?  She shrugged; There wasn't anything she could do about it now. She first stopped at a small enchanting shop. A few bits and her collar was invisible; a couple extra and the unicorn running the shop promised to keep quiet. Step one complete.

 

Her next stop: A makeup store. She bought a bottle of coat dye and one for her mane, and grabbed several different bottles off of the shelves. On a normal day, with her normal resources, Mercury would have gotten them from several different stores. Now, however, she contented herself with getting a few extra things she didn't need. Store of bits nearly depleted and bags full, she trotted away.

 

Just another day, she thought. Except that I'll be breaking into a prison. I mean, who does that? Besides me.

Acrylic took the strange blue cuff that was handed to him and examined it.

 

'Great, I wonder what the buck this thing does. I bet it multiplies the pain i feel by ten or something like that.'

 

He put it on and waited for whatever horrible things would come next.

"Boi you trippin, make this a marathon fore I stop!"

 

Kurren$y kept his vision forward and picked up the pace. The most opportune moment to stay out of a prison that commits crimes against pony-kind was not about to slip from him. Even if he wasn't the best at running long distances, Kurren$y was looking to break some personal records.

The eye turned white and Shadow said, as the senses dulled to nothing,  

"The cuff makes your senses not work and increases the pain senses dramatically that a simple cut feels like the body part was chopped off."

'Sweet Celestia this is going to hurt!' Acrylic thought, 'But at least I got some prisoners out, I regret nothing!'

 

"Alright then, do your worst!" Acrylic said, embracing the unavoidable pain that was to come.

 

'I'll stay strong for you Dahlia, I'll be reunited with you, even if it's in death.' He then braced himself for whatever was going to come.

Shadow walked to the back and dragged a claw down it, then he picked up the knife and  drove it into the left hind leg right above the hoof and slowly turned it 180 degrees.

Starry grew tired, turned around and shot the guards, that's been chasing her, with magic, the blast gave off a loud sound, and said before she ducked into a room,

"Sorry about that, hope it wears off soon."

She looked around the room, then sat on the bed and took off her mask and cloak.

As Hooligan walked beside Redwood he noticed the chaos the dragon had caused. It was gonna be one hell of a mess to clean up, not that he was gonna be the one to clean after all he had plans tonight.

"AAAHHHGG!" The pain was unbearable. It literally felt like someone had lit the knife on fire before they stabbed him with it, and as Shadow started turning the knife, Acrylic's screams of agony only got louder.

 

'I have to make it through this," He thought. 'For Dahlia, I'll stay strong.'

"It's nice to meet you Starry," Hooligan said politely, "my name is Hooligan and this is my fiancé Redwood. Am I to assume you were running away from those guards cause you're a prisoner here? Cause if that's the case then I have some bad news. We're both guards and we're gonna have to take you back to your cell."

Redwood cuffed Starry, although she wasn't very forceful since she didn't seem very intent on attacking them.

 

"It ain't usually a good idea to run right into whoever's chasin' ya," said Redwood.

 

Starry appeared to be a bit more peaceful than than the other prisoners around here.

Starry didn't  fight when Redwood was placing the cuffs. She just lifted her mask on the top of her head and said, 

"I don't know why I'm here, all I did was accidentally turn a guard's hind leg to a crystal version of it."

She picked up her book and started flipping through the pages

Acrylic gasped as the knife was removed from his leg and felt slightly better, except for the fact that it was blood was gushing out of the wound. He then watched as Shadow grabbed a jar full of needles.

 

'That looks fun, wonder what he's going to do with those?' He thought as his vision blurred out a little from the pain.

Kurren$y felt a hoof on one shoulder. It tugged on him, turning him into a dead-end alley.

 

A pair of gleaming gray eyes stared at him out of the darkness. They were oddly familiar, even if the face they were in was concealed by shadow. The pony leapt onto a single dumpster and then onto the roof, allowing him to see a silhouette with a delicate build and a spiraled horn. The strange mare gestured for him to follow.

Shadow walked back and started putting needles in 90 degrees apart on the other hind leg, and once he was done, he left the room, headed to the infirmary to get doc to take care of Acrylic.

 

Nightmare woke up and looked down to see that she drooled on her book. her horned glowed as she removed the drool out of the book, and closed the books

Before Kurren$y could collect his wits about himself he was staring at a pair of grey eyes in a back-ally. Perplexed by this turn of events the familiarity of the eyes undermined his conscious awareness. Even more perplexing was the mysterious mare's acrobatics, as she was scaling the alley wall Kurren$y quietly yet excitedly remarked

 

"Mane, how come ain't nopony tell me ninjas exist!?"

 

As Kurren$y's new ninja friend scaled the wall and motioned for him to follow suite he exclaimed a little louder

 

"You got me f***** up cuz, I ain't know s*** 'bout no nippon-shinobi-jutsu s***. I get on this dumpster but you gotta hook a pony up."

 

On top of the dumpster, Kurren$y hopped and extended a hoof towards the ninja.

The mare extended a dark-red hoof, helping Kurren$y onto the roof. Similar roofs extended in three directions, and they could distinctly see where the cheap tenement housing of the city began. Mane and tail flowing behind her, the mare leapt easily from one roof to another until she was on the flat roof of an apartment. Another, taller part of the building threw the spot she was in into shadow.

"Yer still a prisoner here, so we gotta take y'all back to yer cell," said Redwood as she began to lead her away from their quarters.

 

It had already been an exciting day, and it was barely noon. In terms of jailbreaks, Redwood would have expected something like a riot, but not a dragon attack.

Hooligan gave a friendly smile to Starry as they walked back to her cell. "Don't worry," he said happily, "if you keep your head down and behave yourself you'll be out of here in no time. Feel free to ignore my advice but trust me when I say keeping in line is the only way you're getting out of here."
