So, about the Sombra Alternate Universe... What do you think would happen besides what we saw in the Cutie Re-Mark? Out of the alternate timelines, this one is the most popular. I have a few ideas:

- Twilight Sparkle is approached by Princess Celestia, who tells her that she must find the Elements of Harmony.

- Sunset Shimmer is King Sombra's disciple (assuming she DIDN'T cross over to the human world in this universe, of course)

- Rainbow Dash is one of the Wonderbolts' best fighters, hates everything Sombra stands for, and is strongly dedicated to the cause; she's also not as boisterous or arrogant as her prime counterpart; in fact, losing her wing to Sombra at the beginning of the war is how she learns that war isn't a game (I find the idea of Sombra being responsible for War Dash's missing wing interesting);

- Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie form the task force who are to find the Elements of Harmony (though that would be obvious).

IMO, there has to already be a version of the Elements of Harmony because their version of Nightmare Moon was defeated.  Where things get interesting is Cutie Mark stories. Going by The Cutie Mark Chronicles (S1 E23), Cutie Marks are an outward manifestation of your inner values.  In Bats (S4), Fluttershy's Cutie Mark changes, so they aren't set in stone.  The Mane 6 would get marks eventually -but maybe not the same ones.

 

Twilight's life would probably be the most different.  Without the surge, she didn't hatch Spike.  Maybe her written work got her into school, but she wouldn't have had her cutie mark & she wouldn't have been Celestia's prize pupil.  It is plausible that someone else became Element of Magic (Trixie seems a fan fave for this)
