Infinity nodded and said, "Thank you" before he followed Twilight to pokemon selection and the practical test. He had no doubt that he had passed his written exam, and given his calm demeanor, he was sure he'd be able to befriend any of these creatures.

[Dynamo Pad 11,263]

Twilight looked over all of the test that was turned in to her "Ok after reviewing the test you turned in I have to say that not a single one of you..." Twilight paused for dramatic effect while keeping a straight face "failed this test, congratulations you all have passed. Now if you would please follow me we will go to pick out you're partner Pokemon now."

 

D-Pad was happy he passed now even if he failed the practical test he can keep his new Pokemon as a pet at least and they can try again some other time.

Dynamo got out of his seat and jumped for joy, feeling ecstatic that he passed the written test. He levitated his saddlebag back on and proceeded to head out with Twilight and the others for the battle part of the exam. On the way there he tripped and landed face first on the ground once more. "Ow! Okay, I'm just wondering if this is some kind of joke. I'm not naming names or want to instigate something, but did anyone try and trip me for some odd reason? That's the second time today and I don't know what's going on around here. I've got good coordination, so me tripping on my own hooves should be happening."

"Ow! Okay, I'm just wondering if this is some kind of joke. I'm not naming names or want to instigate something, but did anyone try and trip me for some odd reason? That's the second time today and I don't know what's going on around here. I've got good coordination, so me tripping on my own hooves should be happening."

"You might be being followed by a ghost pokemon dude" Artie said with a laugh, "But it's to worry about, most just like to play small pranks, not anything seriously harmful." he continued. Artie walked to the room where they would get their first pokemon, "I'm so exited!" he said, almost bursting into a song.

There's a hole in the ground and it looks like it's completely made of sand. Does this make any sense to any of you?"

Infinity took the pokedex with a nod and said collected, "Thank you. I will see you when I am done." He enetred through the door and stepped into the field, filled with wonderous creatures like those he had seen before, but all different in some way. He looked at all of them from afar to begin with, but decided to wait, he doubted it was some kind of free for all.

Suddenly, an orange figure with a giant oval shaped head popped out of the dug up hole and stared up at Dynamo, sudedenly becoming startled. Startled soon became realization, as Dynamo wondered if this was the culprit behind him being tripped, grabbed the creature into his telekinetic and tried inspecting it. "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Hey, Princess Twilight!? I think I found what's been making me falling over ever since I got here. Do you know what this is?" Dynamo ran towards Twilight while holding the orange creature in his blue magic aura and presented it to her. Curiosity and wonder on his face, as he had never seen a creature like this before.

"I'm not entirely sure Artie, but I intend to find out." Dynamo received his pokedex and waited for something to happen with the hole in the ground. Suddenly, an orange figure with a giant oval shaped head popped out of the dug up hole and stared up at Dynamo, sudedenly becoming startled. He wondered if a Pokemon acts the way based on it's nature or the way it's bred of species, but shrugged his shoulders at the thought being too confusing at the moment. "Oh by the way, I'm sorry I freaked out back there. I thought somepony was trying to mess around with me. If it was just a joke I could probably understand and just brush it off. The second time I thought I was being picked on or something along those lines. I guess I never really could stand bullies back in Fillydelphia." Dynamo said with and apologetic look on his face.

D-Pad started looking around for his Pokemon partner he saw Seedot, Porygon, and a Cherubi.  He looked up information on all 3 of them with his new Pokedex.

 

First was Seedot

Seedot, the Acorn Pokémon. Seedot resembles an acorn when hanging by its head from branches. It jumps down suddenly to the surprise of passersby.

 

Next was Porygon

Porygon, the Digital Pokémon, this Pokémon consists entirely of programming code. Capable of moving freely in cyberspace.

 

and lastly Cherubi.

Cherubi, the Cherry Pokémon. All of the nutrients needed for evolution are contained in its small ball. Cherubi becomes redder as it is exposed to sunlight, and is almost ready to evolve once the smaller ball buds. 

 

"hmm... they all seem so interesting i wonder who i should choose."

Infinity took his time and looked around, interesting as some were, he had never even owned a regular pet before. It was a difficult choice to make, but it turned out that one of them made the choice for him, bounding over attempting to chomp on his leg, which he quickly drew back. It was clearly some sort of canine, and even though it wouldn't have been his first choice, the universe worked in mysterious ways. While holding the canine back with his hoof, he flipped open his pokedex and scanned it, "Poochyena, the Bite Pokémon. Poochyena is the pre-evolved form of Mightyena. Its biting strength is superior to other Pokémon, and has the endurance to chase opponents down until completely exhausted."

He took this into great consideration. He was glad to have not been bit by it. Given the typing listed on his screen, it was a dark type, which was a plus. Dark types were well known for dealing critical damage more often than most. Being that it seemed to be more focused on physical, rather than special, capabilities, and that it was a canine he used reasoning to deduce that as his very first pet/ pokemon, it would definitely be the easiest to take care of, get along with and train. Plus, its endurance must've been extremely high which would be nice, especially given Infinity had good control over his physical capabilities as well. They could train together.

  He tried an excersize. Placing his hooves atop the shoulders of the pokemon, it dashed back and growled at him. Just the response he was expecting, this was a sign of dominance in the language of the canines. Then he reached in his travel back and pulled out a small snack biscuit. Stomping his hoof on the ground twice, he made sure the canine noticed the tapping. Then tossed the biscuit in front of the Poochyena, which sniffed it and quickly snapped it up. He stood, satisfied. Looking back at the door, he yelled out, "Twilight! I think I found the one." Joy filled him, and he let out another smile.

It says it's name is Totodile and this one's moves are scratch and leer, that sounds interesting" he said. "Well I think we're gonna be great friends!" Artie said as he picked up the pokeball in front of Totodile as a random chime sounded from nowhere.  "Is that chime gonna go off every time somepony grabs a pokeball?" Artie asked @Dynamo Pad.

"It's okay, it's in the past. I'm glad I'm here now and being able to experience something as being friends with Pokemon."Dynamo smiled as he turned to look at the Trapinch. Realizing that it was still in his magic aura, he gently set it down and apologized for earlier. "Thanks I'll take you up on that offer Artie and that's a Totodile, huh? It looks pretty cool for an aligator, or is it a crocodile?" Dynamo asked, puzzled at trying to tell the two species apart. He then walked over to Twilight to figure something out. "Um, excuse me, Princess Twilight? Is this Trapinch a part of the starter Pokemon that you can obtain?" He asked as he gestured his hoof down towards the and pit Pokemon.

After thinking for a good bit of time D-Pad made his choice.  "I choose you, Cherubi."  Cherubi jumped towards D-Pad and was caught by one of his front legs.  "We better go tell Twilight we are a team now don't you think."  Cherubi nodded his head.  "Ok then let's go."

"Ok thanks for telling me."

"I wonder why he went from the field to the front of the castle? I guess he was tired of waiting and wanted to find a trainer for himself." Dynamo looked from Twilight to Trapinch, who was standing right next to Dynamo's front hoof. Dynamo couldn't explain it, but he could feel a sort of connection towards the ant pit Pokemon. Maybe the times he was tripped by Trapinch was his way of saying he wanted to be Dynamo's starter Pokemon. It was right then and there that Dynamo's choice was made. "I've made my decision Princess. My starter and partner Pokemon is going to be Trapinch." Dynamo said with a smile upon his face. No trace of doubt could be seen in his eyes as he said this statement. He then took the pokeball that was designated for Trapinch, and returned him as a red beam sucked the ant pit Pokemon into the sphere capsule. "We're going to be a great team Trapinch. I know were going to go far. Thanks for being my friend." Dynamo said with a smile on his face.

He taped his hoof again and held out another treat and led the Poochyena out of the filed and through the doors. As he and the pokemon passed through, he mentioned to princess Twilight, "Umm, does this one have a pokeball? I will eventually run out of treats."

"It's okay, it's in the past. I'm glad I'm here now and being able to experience something as being friends with Pokemon."Dynamo smiled as he turned to look at the Trapinch. Realizing that it was still in his magic aura, he gently set it down and apologized for earlier. "Thanks I'll take you up on that offer Artie and that's a Totodile, huh? It looks pretty cool for an aligator, or is it a crocodile?" Dynamo asked, puzzled at trying to tell the two species apart. He then walked over to Twilight to figure something out. "Um, excuse me, Princess Twilight? Is this Trapinch a part of the starter Pokemon that you can obtain?" He asked as he gestured his hoof down towards the and pit Pokemon.

"Your welcome Dynamo!" Artie said happily. He turned towards where Dynamo was going and and told twilight "I've chosen my starter princess Twilight" he then turned towards Totodile and smiled, but then the Totodile stood up and jumped onto Artie's back and made a loud laugh-sounding noise. "Well now that that's settled, let's go where everyone else is!" Artie said happily. He then put the pokeball in his saddlebag and and walked over to where Dynamo pad was standing and said "Hey do you wanna take that tour when we get out of here?" to him.

"anyway if you all have your starter pokemon it's time for the practical test at last and for this test I want to you pick a number from this bucket. " Twilight said as she levitated a small bucket to her since there are 4 of you there are only 2 numbers in this bucket (1 and 2) with 2 copies of each you must battle the trainer with the same number as you.  If you lose this battle nothing happens you just got to show you can get along with your pokemon to see that a bond is there so even if you win if i don't see a bond you can fail."

Infinity nodded and clacked his hoof on the floor before handing the poochyena the treat he had led him in with. But a red exclamation point popped over his head as he realized something, "Wait Twilight. I assume they know simple battle commands. If you just gave us pokemon completely untrained and unready to deal with people, then they won't listen to anything we say, nomatter the bond, they just wont understand." The poochyena panted and looked up at Infinity's side. He selected a number anyways.

Dynamo looked over to Twilight and smiled. "Okay and thank you Twilight." Dynamo saw the bucket floating in front of Twilight and wondered what kind of number he would get. He looked around at the applicants who gained their starter Pokemon and felt that any of these trainers have a lot of potential. As Dynamo started to become nervous he looked down at the pokeball he just gained and smiled, his nervousness going away slightly. "Whether I pass or fail doesn't matter to me. Even though I do want to win, forging a strong bond with my Trapinch is my only concern right now. If seeing if a bond is there between trainer and Pokemon is the point of this test, then I'll do my very best in this battle." Dynamo said with an excited look on his face. He walked over to the floating bucket and put a hoof inside and dug for a piece of paper. As soon as he grabbed the paper he wanted, he pulled it back and opened it up, revealing the number. "It looks like I got the number 2."

"I've thought about that and i'm giving you prep time to forge a bond between you and and to mental prepare yourself and learn your opponent shall be." Twilight said to them to clam them down about the whole situation.

 

D-pad went to pick his number and he pulled a 1 out of the box.

As Artie heard what they were supposed to do, he had an idea; "Hey Totodile, Want a snack?" he asked the blue pokemon sitting on his back. Totodile made a very happy noise, "I guess that's a yes!" Artie thought out loud. He then reached into his saddlebag and pulled out a berry then gave it to totodile, who ate it in one bite. "Well, I guess you did like it!" he said, laughing. Artie Then walked up to twilight and pulled the last number in the bucket, a 1. "Who else has one?" he asked to the other ponies around him.
