Is anyone else hoping that Slice of Life is going to be a one time deal?

I really don't want to see the 200th episode be another fan pandering mess and would instead prefer that it be something else.

Oh god I hope so. If there's ever a 200th episode I hope it's an actual celebration of the series/franchise and not a bunch of BG pony/fan wankery again

I also hope it was a one time deal. Having been new to the show and fandom when it aired, from mine and my kid's perspective: it made no sense and was weird. It may have been great for some of the fanbase, but as a regular episode....eh....maybe another Slice of Life as a bonus selection on a DVD or on Youtube, or something.

Well judging by how many episodes after Slice of Life have been pandering big time whenever it has the chance to I'm afraid it wouldn't take much for them to make another episode like SoL using an excuse. Heck I would say Do Princesses Dream of Magical Sheep Slice of Life 2. Slice of Life was like the portal once opened never closed and pandering is let loose into Equestria and there's no stopping it until the death of FiM.

I agree, Slice of Life wasn't the strongest episode and I'd also hope it to be a one time thing. I really couldn't keep watching the show if it devolved into memes and pointless cameos.

Oh how I do. I would rather see the writers focus on actual characters with personalities than on background props used to fill out crowd scenes who have about as much depth as tom the rock. Certain characters like Celestial deserve having episodes dedicated to them much more.
