As the headmaster finished his speach Lucius took a deep breath and began walking to the stable before a dragon landed in front of him and the other students "...Um Hi?"

Flare was watching from the distance and face palmed at the human students "Oh for god sake can't they just hurry up I want tem all to be together!" In his frustration Flare began to fly (quite high) around above the students almost doing circles just waiting for his time to give them the fright of their life's.

@@MiniKirby123,

"Bayou, nice to meet you, my name is Aileana." She gave him a shy smile. After the headmaster finished his speech she was even more nervous to get out there to possibly meet a dragon. But she knew that she had to try, even if that white dragon wasn't meant for her, at least she would get to see him again.

"So," Bayou cleared his throat, "You ready? I mean, I don't know if I'll find a dragon, and I'll be banished I guess if I don't, but... Here goes nothing, right?"

"I think I'm as ready as I will ever be." She took a deep breath and started to walk out the doors. There was nothing like it, she saw dragons all over, flying, on the ground, every where she turned there was another one. And then... she saw him. The dragon from this morning. She felt this pull like she had never felt before. Like an invisible rope was wrapped around her and the dragon was pulling her towards him. Their eyes locked.

Abner gave a small bow to the water dragon, "And to you Araluen."

Abner was watching the door, waiting for the student that he would connect with to emerge. Finally he locked his eyes on the dark haired freckle faced girl from earlier. He smiled as he watched her searching the garden, looking at each dragon before spotting him. As she saw him her face went blank, as if almost in a trance. She began to move forward. As she emerged from the crowd Abner stepped to meet her. He reached out with his massive claws and picked her up. Bringing her up to his eye level he spoke to her. "Looks as if we are meant to be together."

Aileana's eyes got very wide, a huge grin appeared on her face and she was ecstatic. "Oh wow." Was all she could muster.

Abner chuckled, "Shall we go for a fly?"

She nodded, still unable to get that goofy grin off her face.

Kyubi noticed the dragon that had landed on the path in front of the students, but didn't really pay him any mind. The teen simply walked around him and began to look for a dragon. She could detect a quick drop in the air temperature, bringing her towards Nyx.

Said dragoness wasn't really interested in any of the students that had come into the stables so far. it wasn't until she saw a girl that seemed to go straight for her did she show some semblance of emotion. She had to admit, something seemed different about the teen. Nyx then lowered her head and sniffed at the teen, curious as to what she would do.

Kyubi didn't show any fear at the sudden rush of wind, and simply placed the palm of her hand against Nyx's snout. She felt lighter and a slight smile spread across the lips of both dragon and human.

Star Dancer continued to observe the students, until she noticed Blitz. She couldn't really describe it at the time, but something seemed off about him. When he entered the stables and headed out onto what was essentially a runway for any dragons that needed a running start to fly, the dragoness decided to approach him and gently nudged his back when she was close enough.

Blitz felt a bit nervous as he watched other students bond with dragons. Of course, there were two that fell into Shadowwalker's prank, but they didn't really seem that angry about it. If anything, it brought them closer together. The teen was surprised, though, when he felt something push him from behind and turned to see a dragoness looking directly at him. The teen didn't really know what to do, to be quite honest. For all of his planning, he didn't know how to solidify the possible bond the two of them could have.

Fortunately for him, Star Dancer had that part covered. The dragoness could tell that the human was nervous, and decided to take the first step. Star motioned for Blitz to get on her back, and the dragoness took off when he did.

Evan raised an eyebrow at the dragon that had jumped in front of the group. And just as he did, he heard a *squelch* and a *poof* as a dragon and student were covered in glue and feathers.

Then the dragon in front of him burst into laughter and started rolling on the ground.

"So, you're a prankster huh?" Evan asked the mischievous dragon, it recovered from its laughing fit and responded.

"Yeah, it's really the only way I can get anyone to notice me, but I welcome the solitude!" He said, striking what was supposed to be a brave pose.

"Well, I'm Evan. It's nice to meet you..." Evan made a motion with his hand as he spoke.

"Oh, where are my manners. The name is Shadowalker and it is a pleasure to meet you."

Shadowalker then added, "Shall we go for a flight and get to know each other better?"

"That sounds great." Evan said as he attempted to climb onto the dragon's back. Once he was situated, they took off.

Bayou nodded, testing the name on his lips before smiling. "Me too, honestly. I mean... Yea. Nothing for it." he babbled a little, sighing as he ran a hand nervously through his already messy hair. The doors swung open, and he trailed after Aileana, the two of them separated by the sudden influx of people. What he saw took his breath away. Dragons were everywhere - flying, seated, just... Being dragons. They were truly majestic, and he found himself floored and suddenly feeling very very small.

Nervously, he watched as the others all found their dragons - Aileana found this gorgeous white dragon, and other students were already taking off into the sky. He bit his lip, fiddling with his earrings as he glanced around.

 ----------------

Araluen merely smiled as Abner found his human - she could tell just at a glance that the two of them would make many fond memories together. She seated herself contentedly, sure that, if her bonding was meant to be, she'd see her human soon enough. As the rest of the dragons and people began to clear, she spotted one lone boy in the midst of the rest, and felt an immediate connection - he was just as her vision had foretold.

Approaching him slowly, she watched with mild amusement as his attention was drawn to her. Their eyes locked, and she instantly felt a swell of emotion, washing through her like a tide. Bayou's expression likewise shifted into one of awe and disbelief. She gently lowered her muzzle to his level, and he felt his breath rush out in a sigh of wonder as he instinctively rested his forehead against the dragon's. It was unexpectedly warm, and he closed his eyes.

"My robin." he felt a voice thrum in his ears, and opened his eyes to see the dragon staring at him. "My name is Araluen of the water-flight." she murmured, her voice like running water.

"B... Bayou." he managed to stammer back, before feeling an odd tingle on the inside of his wrist. Glancing down, he saw a blue teardrop intricately carved with white swirls blooming into existence.

"My symbol. We are bonded." Araluen smiled, before turning and dipping down. "Shall we fly? There is nothing better for privacy."

Bayou's eyes immediately lit up, sparkling blue. "Oh my gosh! YES! I've always wanted to fly!" he exclaimed, his regular personality surfacing once more now that the initial wonder had passed. He eagerly clambered onto her back, a grin on his lips, as Araluen chuckled at his enthusiasm.

"Hold on tight." she winked, before taking off into the air with a single downbeat of her wings.

As flare continued to circle above all the humans and dragon he felt kind of jealous, he saw the dragon create bonds with the humans and then fly off, it actually filled him with a bit of spite, until his eyes met with a boy.

Lucius was looking around at all the dragon feeling rather apprehensive, he then found his eyes drift upwards to the sky, it was then his eyes locked with the red dragon circling above him.

Flare soon realised what had happened and quickly swooped down and grabbed Lucius in his claws and chuck him on his back. "Hey kid sup?" Lucius gulped "Um... well yeah good I guess! So um are we like bonded and stuff now then?" Flare chuckled "Yep it seems like I'm stuck with ya... I hope you survive the experience" Lucius gulped again but tried to ignore what Flare had just said, "By the way my names Lucius, what's yours?" Flare smirked "Names Flare kid don't forget it!"

"I knew that you would be my mate when I saw you peaking in the barn this morning." Abner chuckled a bit. "But now, we must be serious, from the stories that I have heard growing up it is of the utmost importance that we get though this 'training' and move on to bigger and better things." Abner wanted to get right to the point. He was that type of dragon, strict when it called for it. He was such a wise dragon after all, he knew when it was time to play, and when it was time to study. "Please, Aileana, talk with me."

"I'm listening, I do know that the headmaster told us that we had to make a connection with a dragon and to work hard throughout our time here. I'm very interested in the things that you know. What flight are you? What does that mean for us?" She asked.

Abner smiled, "Ah, good, you are curious. I am a dragon from the light flight. The way I see the world is logical, there is a place for everything and everything has its place. There is always truth and the truth will set you free. If you are going to be with me for the foreseeable future you need to know that you will never lie to me. You will seek the truth always, no matter how difficult the task."

Aileana looked at him with seriousness, she was trying to absorb everything that he was saying. He noticed.

"Look, look at this mountain. Look at those trees, and those birds, and those flowers. Each piece of the puzzle is there, you have to look at them in a way that you can see the truth. The only way that these birds are able to sustain life all the way up in these mountains is because of those trees. They provide shelter and food for them. They provide oxygen for you and I. This mountain is here because the Earth made it so. Those are all things of truth, each piece of the puzzle is necessary to understand the meaning. Do you know what that meaning is?" He asked her.

She took a few seconds to look at the things that Abner pointed out. "The meaning of this is... peace. There is peace there, and harmony, the mountain gives the trees stability, the birds prune and eat the trees and fertilize the ground and the trees use that to be stronger." She looked up to Abner, smiling. "Is that right?"

Abner nodded, "You are brilliant."

For the first time in his life, Blitz truely felt like he was alive. He didn't really have anything to hold onto as Star flew, but he didn't really need to. Said dragoness flew at a comfortable speed, and it was like they could read each others minds. The teen then gently scratched Star behind one of her ear plates and gave a slight smile. "I don't think I introduced myself. My name is Blitz Ryu." He said.

Star Dancer cast a curious gaze at the teen on her back and nodded. "A name of two languages. I wonder what the words mean." She said, trying her best to remember what she knew about human languages. The dragoness hen cleared her mind and decided to introduce herself as well, along with talking with her partner for a bit longer. "My name is Star Dancer. Tell me, Blitz, what do you think of this world?"

The teen couldn't help but think a bit about the question. He knew that whatever he said might impact their relationship. "I view the world as something that needs to be preserved for future generations. If anything is taken from it, it should be used in full and something of equal value should be given to the planet, sort of like equivalent exchange." As he spoke, the teen stood and began to walk on the dragoness's back.

Star Dancer nodded and wasn't really expecting Blitz to move, but decided to ignore it for now. "I knew I made the right choice." She said. "I think I might as well tell you a bit something else. I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie."

Blitz nodded slightly and looked over Star's side to see that they were a few thousand feet in the air and the highest pair in the sky. "It seems I did as well. You're beautiful and smart, and that's just my first thoughts about you. I can't wait to get to know you more." The teen then closed his eyes and saw the world through his dragon's eyes. The shock of such s thing caused him to trip over one of Star Dancer's back ridges and he fell off of her.

As they took to the air, Bayou whooped with joy, beaming at the adrenaline rush. “Woooohoooo!” he yelled to the sky, earning another low, rumbling laugh from Araluen. Hair whipping wildly around him, the teen raised his arms, closing his eyes and letting the wind run through him. After the initial adrenaline wore off, Bayou felt his curiosity creeping back from the pure newness of it all. “So, A… Araluen?” he asked tentatively, trying the name on his tongue. “You said you were of a water flight… What does that mean?” he asked, cocking his head.

“Good question, my robin.” she replied, pleasure evident in her tone. “I am a dragon from the water flight. I live in the present, but my mind often drifts into the future.” She paused briefly, contemplating the best way to explain herself before continuing. “To me, time is like water – fluid. It runs around me at all times, and I can see the future whenever I wish. However, what I see will not always come true. It’s just a single drop in a million possibilities. For example, I saw the possibility of bonding with you, but as unsure whether it would come true.” She glanced at Bayou, making sure he was understanding, and found him entranced by what she was saying.

“So… it’s like a web!” he exclaimed, and she quirked an eyebrow. He searched for words to explain. “Like… You can see and feel all the possibilities around you, but you don’t know which branch it’ll break off into, or which section of the web the insect will land on.” He flailed, gesturing and hoping she understood.

Araluen smiled, happy he understood. “Exactly, my robin. Being such a mind-focused flight also means that, if our bond is strong enough, we may be able to form a telepathic link and share thoughts and feelings.”

“Cool!” Bayou exclaimed, before biting his lip a little out of nervousness and joy. “Oh gosh, I’m excited. I really like you so far, Araluen, and I hope we’ll make it through the training to come.”

Araluen nodded, beaming. “I’m sure the future will be bright.”

“Are you just saying that, or are you serious?”

“Who knows…?”

“HEY!”

Kyubi smiled as she gently rubbed Nyx's snout and moved to her side, feeling her muscles move under her hand. From the image provided by echolocation, she could tell the dragoness she had bonded with wasn't large, but not exactly small either. "My name is Kyubi. Do you mind if I ask what your name and flight are?" She asked, noting the cold feeling of the scales under.her palm

Nyx gave a gentle purr and lowered her body so that Kyubi could get on her back should she desire. "My name is Nyx and I'm of the ice flight." She said. "I don't really show emotion that much, so hopefully that doesn't put a strain on our relationship."

(After this, the story will begin to progress. It may be slow, but it will progress.)

Blitz was still seeing the world through Star's eyes for a few seconds after he fell off, but his own vision returned to him soon after. The teen then began to scream and frantically look around. Most of the other riders were to far to do anything to help, so his only hope was that someone was below him.

Star noticed the lack of weight on her back and looked down to see her rider falling through the sky. The dragoness's eyes widened in horror and she dove straight for him. "Hold on. I'm coming." She thought, making herself as aerodynamic as possible as gravity dragged her down

Evan and Shadowalker were engrossed in a lively conversation about their lives.

"And after that, everyone said, 'But I thought you were over there?' And I just laughed and laughed." Shadow said.

"Man, that's absolutely hilarious. I wish I could think up such elaborate schemes." Evan replied, stifling a laugh.

Then, the two of them noticed Blitz falling through the sky.

"Oh my gosh, we have to help!" Evan exclaimed. But Shadow was already shooting over, desperately trying to make it in time.

Lucius had just been sitting there, on Flare back in total silence not quite sure what to say "Um... so what flight are you then Flare?"   Flare chuckled "Well kid, unless you couldn't guess by the colour of me, I'm a fire flight! Know what that means?"

Lucius slightly gulped "Err... no, what does it mean?"

"It means I have a fiery temper" Flare chuckled a bit but then his voice changed into a tone that was quite honestly freaky "So don't get on my bad side, got it half pint?!"

Lucius then began to nod very fast "Dually noted!"

Flare then saw Blitz falling and (through his hard-headedness) didn't see the over dragons trying to save the boy, so he told Lucius to "Hold on" before flying at full speed towards the falling boy.

Lucius cocked his head "Why do I need to hold-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!" Lucius then clucked to the dragon at he picked up speed.

Blitz noticed a few of the other students coming towards him, but he knew Star was the closest to him. The teen then closed his eyes and angled himself in relation to where said dragoness was approaching from. To be honest, this was the most excitement Blitz had ever experienced and it felt amazing. The wind rushing past, the adrenaline surging through his body, and the scenery of the surrounding area around the mountain.

After a few seconds, Star finally caught up with Blitz and basically had her rider land on his back. "What were you thinking? You could've gotten yourself killed." She said, concern evident in her voice.

Blitz sighed as he held onto Star. "Yeah. I didn't mean for that to happen. I just sort of slipped." The teen didn't really know what to tell the dragoness or how he would explain what had happened to the other students.

As Star caught Blitz Flare leaned back to stop himself before levelling out "Hey kid you alright?" Flare then looked at his back to see Lucius sitting there hyperventilating "Kid... Hey kid!" Flare rolled his eyes at Lucius' lake of response so he smirked and roes his body temperature and rather unconfutable levels (By human standards at least) causing Lucius to snap out of his little trance "You know what Flare I am so going to kill you  when this is over." Flare chuckled and smirked showing his sharp teeth "Kid when I fight someone, one of us is dying, as here's the thing... I never lose a fight."

Bayou had noticed the other teenager falling as soon as he slipped, and yelped out loud before pointing and waving his arms even though he knew Araluen couldn't see him properly. "Araluen! Araluen! That boy, he's falling! We have to help him!" he exclaimed, watching with wide eyes as the other dragoness dived for him. The sapphire dragon below him merely hummed, eyes glowing briefly before she shook her head.

"He will be fine." she said, coming to a hover so the two could watch on.

"What do you mean?!" Bayou cried, his voice frantic. "He's going to die!"

Araluen shook her head, before turning to look him in the eye. "Do you trust me?" Bayou fell silent, before nodding somewhat tentatively. "Then wait and see. Sometimes, it is best to not interfere."

As the dragoness caught the other rider, Bayou visibly relaxed, slumping forward and resting his head on his dragon's smooth scales as he heaved a sigh of relief. Araluen chuckled, before resuming their previous flight pace. "What did I tell you? I saw no future where he would not be caught by his dragon."

Aileana and Abner had been chatting away about the land and the future that they would be spending together. Abner was learning more about Aileana and vice versa. They were interested in getting to be more as one and focusing their energies together. Then out of the corner of her eye she saw a boy falling through the air. "Oh no!" Abner herd her small cry and turned his gaze in the same direction.

"Have no fear my child, they are merely playing. More roughly than one should be playing just after meeting their partners. But still the same." Abner gave Aileana a smile, which helped to put her a bit more at ease.

"I wonder what we will be doing once our classes start. Will I be able to be with you every day? I am so curious! I don't even want to sleep in my room, I would much rather sleep out in the barn with you!" Aileana leaned up against Abners large forearm. He took his claw and gently tucked her hair out of her face. He smiled, a softer, warmer smile.

"All in good time my child. All in good time."

Kyubi and Nyx hasn't noticed what was going on until it was actually over. To be honest, they weren't really that concerned, so long as it wouldn't happen again. "That was weird. It was like he just passed out for a second." The dragoness thought.

Kyubi gave a slight nod and listened to her surroundings. "I wonder when classes will start. It feels like we've been out here forever."
