One thing I can really appreciate in the morality (read before commenting):

NOT TO START AN ARGUMENT (thank you), I really love how the show never succumbs to being too far politically leaning (specifically left). Some things I absolutely HATE seeing in kids shows is that they feel incredibly preachy and try to do so much to be as inoffensive as possible.

MLP on the other hand stays true to how life works: there are things it doesn't sugarcoat.

For example, I love how in Hurricane Fluttershy even after all that training she did she still couldn't reach her goal, showing that somethings will not happen easily. Another example is Fluttershy realizing that happiness can hurt someone as much as it helps (Breezies). And of course you can't forget Cutie Map where it basically says you can't make everybody happy in this world, nor equal.

They easily could have been PC with these messages and felt way too dumbed down but I'm glad they chose a smarter route.

You will never become good at anything unless you practice cut a few corners.

@@TheAnimatorOfficial,

I agree with you. When the shows these days and even in sports and everything else. "Everyone is a winner, everyone gets a trophy, you came in last? Here is a blue ribbon."

Real life... the real world... is a harsh place. You get slapped down, you fail, you fall victim to many different things in the real world.

Being a parent, I watch other parents tell their children that they are perfect and they never do anything wrong. They can aspire to do anything they put their mind to.

Horse Feathers!!! (apologies for the language lol)

You can't fill your children's heads with that nonsense. Granted, it is good to help them strive for greatness, but they can only do the best they can. They have to learn to fall, they have to learn that when they fail they get up and get back on the horse!

Not everyone is a winner, not everyone is going to be nice to you, not everyone is going to be your best friend.

I like how we can really see this in MLP. And even though the ponies failed, or they made a mistake... they learned from it. They grew from it. That's the point.

I swear if my kid is on a team for sports or whatever and they lose, you bet I will be the mom that denies them sprinkles on their ice cream.

Sprinkles are for winners.

While that's true, I actually mostly disliked that part for a certain reason: The fact that she barely improved at all just felt like a cheap shot by someone on the writing staff, IMO.

Kind of like saying, "Hey, kids, hard work can be completely fruitless, so just save your breath!"

Fortunately, she did manage to help the others at least meet their status quo by the end, which made up for that a decent bit, IMO.

This is actually a really good point.

Morals like these help FIM stand out from other shows in a good way.

One of my all time favorites would have to be the one in Equestria Games about how you can be your own worst critic, precisely because of this.

I agree. I like how it shows some concepts like (just one example) girls being able to do the same thing as boys, but it doesn't push it so much that it becomes a political message.

It also has done a good job teaching kids things like sometimes you will be disappointed and not get what you wanted, but it's not the end of the world and you can still find something good from it.

I think what I most appreciate is that they made Rarity feminine and not ditzy. Right now it is commonplace for shows/movies nowadays to portray feminine girls as weaker, less intelligent, and man-needy, compared to tomboyish or "powerful" women. While it's great that strong female leads are much more prevalent nowadays, as they should be, it's at the cost of putting down feminine qualities(especially among the leftist/sjw crowd) It's as if that crowd thinks there's something wrong with those qualities, which is ironic since feminism, something most of them falsely claim to be, comes form the word feminine. But I digress..

Also I appreciate that MLP isn't shy from dealing with touchy subjects, such as faith, albeit subtly of course but it's something most children shows these days wouldn't even dare consider.
