How did you find MLP Forums?: Honestly, I don't have the slightest clue...

 

I guess it has to do with the fact that I was searching for a global forum:

 

I'm an active member on Frenchy-ponies.fr, and I wanted to see bronies from elsewhere than France (we got a guy from the USA that comes sometimes and people from Quebec, Swiss and Belgium but that's not representative from the global thing) and also how a bigger community manages itself because from what I see at frenchy-ponies, shitstorms happen quite often, for silly reasons and things like that...

 

I guess it responds more the why than the how... let's say there is no how, and that I found about MLPForums by chance...

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: always saw MLP memes and funny images on a french imageboard, on October the 23 of 2014 searched for MLP games and images for some reason, found Banned from Equestria, watched the first episodes cause it felt strange to see a pony dating sim, found out about the brony fandom, joined the herd, one year later joined a first forum, on july the 1st joined MLPForums but didn't have time to do a proper introduction.

Well I guess there is some kind of Layout problem and I can't access advanced editing mode, I'm trying to solve it, sorry.

 

Because I'm lazy, I'm just going to translate and adapt the introduction I made on the other forum I'm on:

I introduce myself: Nazmi, 17. French and Turkish, born and living in Upper-Normandy,

 

student in Biology and Geology next year, I have quite a lot of work projects, but I'm still hesitant between Field Geologist cause I like geology since I was like 3 or 4, or "farmer" growing edible plants and mushrooms or maybe crafting hardware (open electronics, custom made products, ...) or maybe a bit of all three.

 

 

I also advocate as much as I can in favor of free and open software, hardware, culture, data and resources.

 

 

I collect quite a lot of stuff (fossils, minerals, plants, coins and artifacts, retro computers, ...), I also like to grow stuff but for the moment I do not do much apart from a specimen of Dracaena sanderiana I found a while ago lying in the form of a leaf on the ground and that is now a nice plant:

and a Mango (Mangifera indica) tree that is growing slowly but growing, here are it's first weeks:

also, because of my family, I kinda grow Hazelnuts (Corylus sp.) and Poplar trees (Populus alba), maybe if you eat Ferrero® Rochers® or Nutella® you are consuming the great hazelnuts from turkey, first producer in the world !

 

 

Here is roughly all the stuff I do, if there are some tinkerers, naturalists, people who like plants or librists/linuxians/...

 

There was also a form to fill on frenchy-ponies, I'll translate it too cause that's kinda too short I think:

Online videogames ? Not much these days but if someone likes UrT or OA, we could play someday if you want

World Masterpiece Theatre (TomSawyer, Princesse Sarah, Les Misérables, Belle Et Sebastien, Heidi, ...), Les malheurs de Sophie (de Segur), the things from Marc du Pontavice (Oggy and the croaches, ...), Maya the bee G1, L'alinea, Donald Duck, La noiraude, The Shadocks, the fanmade animated series, Les mystérieuses cités d'or G1, ...

 

(I'm sorry but I can't find the English name of some of these shows as they have often been made only in French)

 

 

those ones might be more familiar: the amazing world of gumball, gravity falls, adventure time, Toradora and Accel World

 

What do you do related to MLP ?

 

I'm trying to learn how to draw on GIMP and Inkscape (with a small penpartner from 1999 and a Fujitsu Stylistic (digitizer made by wacom) this second one is kinda like a little cintiq but I still have to fix a few things on it, both are scraped from junk), but of course when I need the files, I can't put my hand on them, I'll try to edit that tomorrow, but there is not much to see anyway(my OC drawn on inkscape and rainbow dash made on gimp a while back)...

 

 

I also have a few projects:

 

One is making a fork of supertuxkart to make a superponykart (replacing titles, musics, karts and tracks), it's on the way but because of a shitstorm on frenchy-ponies it's interrupted right now, if you are interested in joining and helping to bring this project to life we (me+the other 3-4 people involved right now) would be pleased to add you to the team but as I said there have been some silly tensions so I don't really know how it's gonna go, but what I'm sure of is that with or without the people involved in that useless craziness, that project will continue...

 

Another one is subtitling stuff, like Friendship is Witchcraft that I started a while ago but I'm having difficulties understanding a few words and jokes in each episode, I hope there will be people to help me around here []

 

I'm also planning to learn synfig animation but for the moment I don't have the time and skill to make any animation (even poor quality)

 

Are you part of other fandoms ? Linuxian, Librist, Naturalist, I also like zootopia a lot (like in watching it something like 10 times) but I'm not a Furry

I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time (not a native speaker or maybe it's because i'm tired...) understanding "I'm interested you taking up animations as well."

 

but about animation I never really put something together, back at the end of 2014 I tried Crazytalk Animator and discovered the puppet/rig/... tool that seemed magical but because of a bad version (crappy translation that made the program unusable because a lot of buttons were without text on them) and the fact that I switched to Linux Debian in the beginning of 2015. Then I installed Synfig, read and watched a bit about it but nothing fancy, but I have already too many projects going on for the moment...

Yeah I can see a whole lots of project got you tied up. I'm not a very good multitasker and my mind seems to go in procrastinate mode if it happens x_x

 

I made couple of gifs that's like animation but it feels like I failed. They're up on my Deviant Art account but I lost most of my touch on doing those stuffs like that in the past sadly

Same thing for me, I have a lot to do and these days I have the feeling I keep on doing nothing apart from surfing randomly and sleeping...

 

I had a look to your DA and saw the "random super-pinkie", which is indeed really random, was this frame by frame animation ?

Yeah. Took me long hours to few days to pull through with it. Same with "pony factor" ones where I have the ponies do their idle animation while get a random color activated over time. My old secondary DA account has many of them/ I'll show you them but I'll have to sleep now. My eyes are heavy on me
