Darthy Hooves 106 August 4, 2016 Share August 4, 2016 I always wondered if Applejack's parents are still alive? Her Granny is there but we never hear or see about Applejack's mum & dad. Equestria Rises !!!!!!!
Strong Copper 126 August 4, 2016 Share August 4, 2016 Honestly, I could see them having Granny Smith die in the last session of MLP. Yes it's a children's show, but death of a family member/friend/pillar of the community is something that children need to learn about. Honestly, I could see Granny's death being a two parter; The first episode dealing with the lead up as Granny starts to deteriorate and how it is effecting everyone (focused mainly on the Apple family sure, but Granny is a well known figure in Ponyville and we'll see how it effects the whole town) while the second one deals with mourning and both can go into detail about the different ways that someone can deal with loss and how to be there and help someone through such a trying period. I get the feeling the Applejack is the kind of pony who would seemingly keep it together and do the jobs that need to be done, making the arrangements and refusing to break down because there is to much that needs doing for that. Classic Play 232 August 4, 2016 Share August 4, 2016 I always wondered if Applejack's parents are still alive? Her Granny is there but we never hear or see about Applejack's mum & dad. I don't think Lauren or any of the other staff ever confirmed the whereabouts of her parents. Though, if I had to guess, when Applejack said to Applebloom "Mom and dad would be so proud" in The Cutie Pox episode, that would be the best, subtle evidence as to where they are. And it's not a happy thought. And since we've seen everyone else's parents now, but not AJ's, (Also, not Scoots', but Lauren already confirmed her parents exist and are alive) I would think it's safe to say that may be the truth. There's also some headcanon on youtube by someone named Ink Rose, I think, that explains the story of AJ's parents. Kinda sad, really. My OC(s): Clear Rider My Ask a Pony At some point, there will be a fic or more here "You can't be a comedian, unless you can laugh at yourself." - Me "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss.
Brony Number 42 10,079 August 4, 2016 Share August 4, 2016 Applejack's parents bought the farm. *crickets* Anyway, what bothers me is that there are creatures that want to kill the ponies, but nopony seems to care. Oh, you were almost murdered and eaten in the forest? No big deal. Wouldn't they be at war with the timber wolves or chimeras? This is my new signature. I think she just liked the tight character dynamic the Apple family has by just having a few members, or something, I don't remember. Something to do with the family dynamic, anyway. I think. But meta reasons for them not being around aside, you're probably wondering what the *in-universe* reason is. Well, as Faust tells it, she would have *liked* to simply (yes, I think she said "simply") say they were dead (so she considers death an easy excuse for absent parents, I guess...) ...but that it would most likely be deemed too dark for a kids' show, so instead they discussed them being traveling salesponies or explorers instead. Faust went on to say that it's undecided where they are until someone decides to do something with them. So I guess they're Schrodinger's Ponies. See, even in a kid's show, they can easily reference death. They can get away with a lot with implying. But, since Lauren did say she would've liked for their death being canon, I'm going to believe this, lol. Exploring is *my* thing.
Lightning Pixel 34 August 8, 2016 Share August 8, 2016 Well, nothing happens. They just die and that's all. Celestia's in control for elements of harmony,so defending the equestria should not be such a problem. But I think that mane six will all become alicorns to live forever. But... Who knows? Brony Number 42 10,079 August 11, 2016 Share August 11, 2016 There should be an episode where Granny Smith "dies." The episode is about her going on some trip but they know she will never return. Apple Bloom says, "I don't understand, why can we never see Granny again?" and Appljack says, "When ponies get old they have to leave for good." So the whole thing is an allegory for death. But we have to never see Granny ever again or else the episode loses its effect This is my new signature.
Sidral Mundet 1,666 August 11, 2016 Share August 11, 2016 (edited) Easy, they either go on living forever, bound to the world and all it's ills, unless slain, where in the wait in the Halls of Mandos to be reincarnated or stay forever if they committed any extreme crimes, all while wishing to have been given the Gift of Men which gives release from the world and all it holdings and would allow them to pass beyond the world to a fate unknown.
