ManaMinori 4,145 September 16, 2016 Share September 16, 2016 What with the baby ponies actually having a toddlers vocabulary...(example: "baby Lickety Split no like puppy!") G3 ponies didn't talk like that. Ironically, it was G1 that also had witches, demons, dark hellmasters, and just plain dark undertones in a lot of its episodes, yet g1 "baby" ponies still talked like toddlers, whereas g3 ponies did not (though many attribute it of being the most geared to such an audience) Thoughts to share on this contrast? Denim&Venöm 19,361 September 16, 2016 Share September 16, 2016 It does seem like each is more 'mature' than the other in some ways. Yes, G1 did have adventures w/ high stakes, dastardly villains and even a 'death.' But while the characters of G3 and the 3.5 movie 'Twinkle Wish Adventure' don't really have high stakes adventures and are more involved in saccharine SOL stories, the ponies themselves talk and interact more intelligently and behave in a more mature fashion than the G1 ponies do. The G1 ponies seemed to always have the need to be guided and baby sat by Megan, while the ponies in G3 run their own town, have their own jobs and duties, plan and organize events and even help each other out. In short: G1= more mature adventures. G3= more mature characters.
PinkiePie97 913 September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 I don't think the baby ponies talking like toddlers necessarily makes G1 less mature than G3, especially since there was so much more to the show than that. They're babies. They don't have to talk like more mature people. The other characters had better grammar. 1 Cartoon Info - A blog where I post info on cartoons I'm interested in writing about. Leave a Whisper 703 September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 (edited) Because children were mythical creatures that Hasbro/Sunbow had only heard about, but had yet to encounter. In all seriousness, the way the baby ponies talk made no sense and grates on a lot of people's nerves, considering that Baby Ember and Baby Lickety-split started off talking normally. Then came the broken English, then in The Prince and the Ponies, the First Tooths talked normally and sang a full song in non-broken English. As far as being childish, of course they all are. MLP is as much of a kid's franchise as it ever was. It's not really gonna touch on more mature, intelligent themes like ATLA, Transformers or Exo Squad will.
