TheAnimatorOfficial 567 October 8, 2016 Share October 8, 2016 If there's any episode to do it this is the one. There's no Discovery Family barrier anymore and would fit in with the apparent "darker" tone the synopsis is going for.
Mesme Rize 15,687 October 8, 2016 Share October 8, 2016 Hasbro won't allow it, if Hasbro is anything to go by. I remember in season 5 tanks for the memories was airing and rogers wanted to kill off Rainbows tortoise Tank. Hasbro said no though and Amy said "fine. Then he will just go into "hibernation."" Since then, i believe that Hasbro dosen't want to mention death in any form. My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. Please, don't be afraid to talk to me. However, they can go overboard and be overly sensitive, but some parents are like that. It's a balance thing - balance both and in my opinion, it's fine. Mesme Rize 15,687 October 8, 2016 Share October 8, 2016 Any concrete proof of that? The whole message was a big metaphor for death, with RD going into the 5 stages of grief, that are normal for people that can't accept when someone is dying. If you do that, then why not go the extra mile? I know, it's not actual prove, but it makes you think. Also, the writer was Cindy Morrow. My mistake. Lightning Roller 158 October 9, 2016 Share October 9, 2016 In response to the original post, Lauren faust had admitted that AJ's parents were in fact deceased and that they had no intention of doing an episode to explain it. For one, the episode wouldn't make it past the rating barrier and as previously stated, hasbro does not like dealing with the concept of death in a show. snowflame 189 October 9, 2016 Share October 9, 2016 I do not think movies plotline has anything to do with something that could tie to the parents anyway. And the usual reasons of Hasbro not being happy.
cmarston1 5,959 October 9, 2016 Share October 9, 2016 We probably aren't ever going to see what happened to AJ's parents in the show, I don't see why the movie should be any different. We didn't even get to see her parents in the last episode, even if it took place in the past and would have been the perfect opportunity to do so.
