Should season 7 setup for the movie?

I'm imagining I'm gonna get more naysayers, but I figure I wanted to spark the discussion. After all the risks taken in season 6(I enjoyed them) should DHX tie in season 7 to the movie coming out in the same year? Many advocate the movie should be its story. Or that from a movie going perspective you don't want your audience lost in translation. I agree and disagree, when parents take their children to go and see this movie, many are not going to understand it anyways.

If season 7 ties into the movie.. Lets paint this scenario, the season 7 finale leads into the 2017 movie? I actually think it could work and we can break away from the conventional method of 'season ends... new season starts... It would feel like a natural flow is the season 7 plot tied into the movie.

It is very likely that it will. If they do the next season like this one, then it will end around October, which is when the movie is premiering. With the movie *possibly* being the grand finale of the show, I can see season 7 introducing a huge plot of some sort that the movie will then focus on. What that will be, we will not know until then and that is exciting. :D

Hey for all we know, the movie could take place right before the season 5 finale! Before Starlight because Twilight's student! It would explain her absence in there, if she's absent. She probably will be, cause animation probably started during season 5 anyway.

Given how the movie will be made to be consumed by more than just the people who regularly watch the show, having the movie relate back to major continuity from the show like that, doesn't seem like something that will happen.

I think it will, but whether it "should" or not?

I don't think it really matters if it is done really well and in a compelling way. They have shown it is possible, but who knows if they will and if they do how well they will pull it off.
