Luna smiles "A mug of hot cocoa would be rather delightful right now, three sugars and marshmallows too if you have any" she says and walks in with her sister, she then looks to her "I do wonder who this old friend of ours is" she says softly and starts to think on who it could be

Celestia nodded, "The same." Celestia started to mentally go through her list of old friends she knew were alive drawing blanks on who Indicus was referring to.

 

Indicus smiled and started heating some water with some magic he was able to do it seconds. Moments later he had two hot chocolates ready to request. Celestia cooled the drink down a bit. "Well if you don't mind both Luna and I are curious about who you were referring to in the letter."

 

Indicus smiled, "Then let's not keep you in suspense any longer." Indicus turned towards the hall and shouted towards Crystal, "You can come out now."

A small and quiet giggle could be heard from further in the house before Crystal stepped out, "Hello dearies, it's been a long time" she says with a soft smile.

 

Luna's jaw drops "C-Crystal? I..we believed after what happened with Sombra you.."

 

Crystal shakes her head "No deary, I simply went into a century long exile, and if not for my Indicus here, I certainly would have died"

Indicus blushed when Crystal refered to him as hers.

 

While Celestia ran up to hug her old childhood friend, "It's been too long, though you referred to Indicus as yours mind elaborating." Celestia gave a very knowing smile, aiming for a little revenge for Indicus' Sun Butt remarks

 

Indicus picked up on what Celly was doing to embarrass him in front of Luna, and he tried to make himself small.

Crystal hugs her back "well you see, I had collapsed outside of his house here, he took me in and gave me shelter, h then fed me his love to help me regain my strength" she explains "and over the last day or so, we grew to love each other, besides, he's old friends with my ex Shade" she giggles

 

Luna chuckles "I know that old changeling, quite a character"

Celestia grinned more before looking at Indicus relishing in his embarrassment. "Aww so tough little Indi finally got himself a marefriend after all these years."

 

Indicus gave up on escaping her teasing and accepted it. "Yes I'm in a relationship with your old friend, Celestia enjoy teasing me about it while you can."

Crystal hides a giggle and smiles as Luna pokes Tia in the flank with a hoof "Laugh it up sunbutt, you're even older than he is and you're still yet to find a suitor" she giggles and Crystal couldn't help it but roll around in laughter "Too much! too much!" she giggles loudly

Indicus laughs as Celestia blushes the red very easy to see on her white coat. "Luna has you there Celly."

 

Celestia gives the other mares a sly smile saying 'follow my lead' it would be apparent to the girls there that she meant to embarrass Indicus and she wanted the others to join in the joke.

 

Celestia looked at Indicus with a seductive smile. "She may have a point, maybe I should start looking for a suitor, I'm sure Crystal would not mind sharing." Celestia brushed her wing under Indicus' chin.

Crystal blinks then huffs "Nice try Tia, but he's all mine" she says, pulling him in and poking her tongue out "why don't you try your luck with Shade?"

 

Luna chuckles "I could just see that happening, but good luck with pulling that old stick in the mud out of his hidey hole"

Indicus found himself in a position where his say was limited but he couldn't say it was bad.

 

Celestia shrugged, "Eh maybe I'll find the one someday but for now I ignore a bunch of noble apointed suitors that are playing the politics game. Quite tiring to deny them all the time." Celestia smiled , "Seriously congrats to the both of you. You two make a cute couple."

Crystal chuckles "Tell me about it and thank you Celly, but if you really want to try your luck with Shade, just mention me" she giggles "and that I'm with Indicus" she giggles again and gets her own hot chocolate "I was actually recently telling Indi here about when we were fillies, do you remember? We would always torment your mother by tearing up and down the halls of the castle, and then there were the times you would chase Luna and myself for calling you sunbutt and teasing you"

 

Luna giggles "those were the best days of my youth"

Indicus sat back and listened.

 

"I remember those days Crystal, before our lives were complicated by ruling our respective nations. Now it is rare to beable to get rid of the princess act. Even my former student practically worships me and we are equals. It was a relief for myself and I'd imagine Lulu, to be able to act ourselves around Indicus and his squad."

 

Celestia seemed nostalgic "They had no obligation or preset image of us so asking them to be informal around us was easy and they did it without hesitation."

Crystal nods "Shade and his squad were the same with me, but then Shade and I did grow up together in the hive, so it made it easier I guess" she says as she sits next to Indicus and hugs him with her wing "Hopefully things can go back to normal soon, and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Shade once more, just to see how he is, and to let him know that I'm...well alive"

Celestia took a sip of her hot chocolate. "Still it's nice to see you after so long it is rare to have so many childhood friends still be alive to this day. Most were mortal so died of age."

 

Celestia looked at Indicus noticing he did not seem to age a day since she last saw him. "Indicus you look the same as you did over twenty years ago."

 

Indicus smiled while nuzzling Crystal, "Something to do with my biological heritage doctors don't know what it is though."

Crystal smiles and nods "I know how you feel, it feels like a lifetime ago" she says and hugs the sisters before going back to Indicus, "So what do you two have planned for the week?" she asks

 

Luna sighs "Meetings, dances, more meetings etc" she says, listing off various events to  be attended

Celestia sighed, "Much the same and that is without day court. It's boring but exciting usually means some huge threat so I'll take boring."

 

Indicus nodded agreeing with Celestia's sentiment, having experienceduch the same thing in his life after many exciting adventures. "Funny that we long for boring during 'exciting' moments and exciting during the boring ones."

Crystal couldn't help but nod in agreement "I know what you mean dear, most of what I had to do when I ruled over the Crystal Empire, was making sure arguments and disputes were dealt with. The only real threat we had was harsh winters and summers, but then...there was when Sombra went insane and tyranically overthrew me"

Indicus nodded then looked at Luna, "So how's the Night Guard doing. Still out performing the Royal and Celly's Solar Guard?"

 

Celestia threw a glare towards Indicus, Indicus smiled, "Celestia your solar guard was so out of practice that the leaders couldn't even break my guard when I was barely trying, I honestly hope that has changed. Maybe I'll come to check some time."

Luna nods and chuckles "They've gotten better, but not by much, I kind of blame Shining Armor for that, that stallion's a softie" she says with a shake of her head "In fact" she looks to Celly "We were wondering if you'd be willing to return for a short while, to try and do some internal investigation, there's been rumors of some...undesirables doing despicable acts under the guise of both the Night and Solar guard..."

Indicus nodded, "Sure I can do that, though your going to have to tell me how you want the guilty handled. As for the Solar Guard I blame the long term peace, for their shortcomings, it is why you asked for distinguished non Equestrian military or ex military personnel. Though it seems peace in Equestria has started to end."

Luna sighs "Just suss them out first dear, we are willing to give them a fair trial, regardless of their actions, it'd be rather dictatorial of us to simply execute or imprison them without giving them a fair trial first."

 

Crystal nods "Had some problems back home with that sort of thing, Sobmra was more of a "eye for an eye" type, if a pony or changeling was killed or harmed then equal punishment was given to the perpetrator."

Indicus nodded, "Okay then, when the time comes I'll look into it and apprehend the guilty alive. If they try to kill me then well it will be amusing to say the least, but they'll live with an added attempted murder charge." Indicus was not really worried about their threat seeing as the Solar Guard was a joke and he and those he knew taught the Night Guard what they know.

 

Indicus looked at Crystal, "Thalemn law prefers life imprisonment with labor and shit but still edible food for punishment seeing as death sentence although there is usually more expensive. Though there are a rare few deemed too dangerous to have a life sentence so they are executed.

Crystal nods "I was more inclined to give second chances for petty crimes, but there were trials for more serious crimes and charges such as murder, attempted murder, rape and the such were always met with life imprisonment without parole if the party was found to be guilty" she says softly

Indicus grinned and looked at the sisters, "Glad there hasn't been a world ending threat for a while. Who was the last one Terik or whoever then some others I don't remember. First year or two in you spec ops unit, Luna was hectic with a threat evey other month. Now things have calmed down for a good five or so years."

 

Indicus remembered Twilight the newest princess. "Speaking of which how is Twilight Sparkle doing lately, it has been awhile since I last met her and her band of friends. Last time the pegasus Rainbow Dash, yea her. She almost begged me to tell war stories, then to spar then she wanted me to teach her." Indicus laughed, "Interesting mare she was."

Luna nods "Tirek was probably the worst as he stole magic from Unicorns.." she says then looks to Indicus "Twilight is...doing well enough, and yes that does sound like miss Dash, always trying to be better than everypony else, I think she has some sort of complex."
