No younger brother

I've noticed with all the mane six family interactions there is no little brother. We have older brothers, an older sister (Maud Pie alone), younger sisters but no younger brother.

I can see why you thought that; he was physically larger than Fluttershy.  I guess that reflects the overall measurements they have for stallions and mares in the show.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if they made him FS's younger brother for exactly the reason you cited.

He's just not young like the CMC. If they want to do interaction with a younger brother on their scale, I'd rather they just make an episode on Thunderlane and his brother Rumble, instead of introducing another sibling out of the blue.

As everyone said, Zeyphr is explictly mentioned to be Fluttershy's little brother in Flutter Brutter.

He's an adult too sure but all the Mane 6 are and he might just be a year or two younger than FS, and judging how Teen AJ had a similar lanky design to young Fluttershy I think Fluttershy might actually be the oldest of the 6 anyway.

Like others have said, Zephyr is Fluttershy's little brother: They're adults, remember, so an Adult little brother will still probably be bigger than his sister.

 

This is going to make Zephyr in EQG kind of awkward, since he can't really be a NEET if he's a freshman... and, crap, Doesn't that mean he'll be the Cutie mark crusaders age then, since they're in Highschool but younger than the mane six? Not much wiggle room there :/

Or you could say that Rainbow's the odd one out and was held back three years in a row  :-P

Well I'm not going by the Equestria girls and the mane six of being the same age; I very much hold that the EQG mane six are younger than the mane six in equestria (with the ponies being 20-25 while the human ones are about 18). The issue is just that, by necessity of being Fluttershy's younger brother, and the CMC being in high school too, Zephyr will end up being pretty much the CMC's age.

 

Which will make it difficult to accomadate Zephyr's previous role.
