ManaMinori 4,149 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 It's been a pretty long and stressful, high stakes road since Twilight came into town and got them together to be the spirits of the elements of harmony. They've had to work under pressure under threat of an evil dictator coming back to power and enslaving PTSD ponies again, they've had to bear being turned against each other and their town nearly becoming chaos capital of the world, they've had to bear having their talents switched (and causing upset in the lives of countless others) by the pony who got them together as friends, and overcome mistrust of her for it, they have to put their lives and businesses on hold every time the TreeMap calls.... it's not easy for them as it might have been if they had gone about their lives without becoming Equestria's chosen heroes. Do you think that any of the mane6 regret being involved in this role, given its job description? Luminance 2,187 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 Since the beginning, Twilight's specific role as head peacekeeper was already predetermined by the Tree of Harmony. Engraved within the tree her cutie mark is already predetermined so it's destiny's way of working into her life whether she can decide or not. The mane 5 where vacant holders for the elements so they were chosen to bestow upon them great power and were entrusted with a great responsibility too just like Twilight. It's not a curse as to say when all troubles break loose or when an friendship problem occur but it's a gift to help others or to put them in check. Saving the day doesn't always have to be a burden because it is what's right that matters. If Equestria is peaceful then they live in peace too.
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 I don't know, they seem to really like helping Equestria out with issues. Every time the map calls them they seem pretty excited. Well, except for Flutters depending on the location. XD On top of that they seem to be able to go about their lives pretty easily regardless of their positions in Equestria. It doesn't seem too bad. Of course I would crack under the pressure though. Redeem me into childhood. Show me myself without a shell.
GrimGrimoire 4,973 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 No, I don't think they they regret it. They have had plenty of time to express it if they do. If anything I think they are proud of it, and value it since it brought them all together as friends. ~No profound statement needed~
Unlikeable Pony 2,700 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 Not really given how little the other 5 really deal with fighting evil much anymore; the only thing they seem to do is the "Friendship emergency" stuff and after that its twilight or starlight that handles the big stuff now. Since S4, they kind of stopped fighting evil so much. Now, they had a similar plot in Equestria girls in legend of everfree in that the mane six explicitly wanted to get away from magic and have a "normal" summer without magical girl shenanigans, with the entire point being them to stop looking at their magic as a bad thing and accept that as part of themselves that they shouldn't want to "get away from", so I wouldn't mind a plot like that. But with the EOH gone, such plots are pretty much past when they could have been done at this point.
FlareGun45 2,221 November 11, 2016 Share November 11, 2016 Well, maybe yes and no. Yes because they realize it's all worth it in the end, but maybe no because they have more things to do with their lives, and maybe they're tired of saving Equestria. Maybe that's what the series finale might be about! The Mane Six are tired of saving Equestria all the time, but realize they have to, but they have a choice to transfer their Elements of Harmony to a next generation. Maybe like: Starlight - Element of Magic Spike - Element of Loyalty Thorax - Element of Kindness Gilda - Element of Generosity Trixie - Element of Honesty Discord? - Element of Laughter I could've picked Cheese Sandwich for laughter, but Weird Al might not wanna play a main role in Generation 4.5 is there will be one. Who knows if even Discord wants to be one? Perhaps a new character could play laughter; and I know Trixie seems kinda ironic for honesty, but maybe she might learn the value of it in the future! Who knows?

Who knows? Some of those sound right but if they made Discord a mainstay then they would have to keep bringing some way to make Discord's magic nullified to present a challenge would get old pretty quick. Heck just one or two ways that Discord's magic was nullified (Tirek absorbing it and Chrysalis stone to disable it) is already getting to me as "Discord should not be as main as a mane because there would keep having to put some kind of magic nullifying mechanism into each story which would be lame."
