Could Queen Chrysalis frame Starlight for a crime?

This is my biggest worry for a Season 7 premier. Since Queen Chrysalis can shapeshift into ANYTHING, there is a chance that she could transform into Starlight Glimmer and perform random criminal acts. This alone could tarnish Starlight Glimmer in the eyes of Equrstria.

How would you all react if Starlight was framed by Chrysalis for her actions?

That's a possibility, and I think that could make for a really great story if that's what they want to do. Starlight having to clear her name, Twilight and Spike believing her but maybe the rest of the mane 5 are a bit more doubtful, and they have to convince them of her innocence to get help.

I'm honestly wondering if next season we'll get our first real recurring seasonal villain. Sure, Starlight was in the premiere and the finale of season 5, as well as popped up a few times in the background. But maybe we'll actually see Chrysalis return multiple times, in both two-parter's and single episodes. That'd be an interesting change of pace.

Twilight is best pony.

That part would be a contradiction since Starlight(Along with Thorax, Trixie and Discord) help save the Mane 6, Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Shining Armor and Flurry Heart from Chrysalis.

Fair enough. A better way for that to be portrayed would be the other 5 losing trust in her over time. While she did help save them from Chrysalis, she still has a checkered past, even up to "Every Little thing she does" where she hypnotized them.

They don't really have to think she's gone "Full evil" again either, they could just believe she's unintentionally slipped back into her old ways of abusing magic.

I doubt Chrysalis would want to resort to something like that. For one thing, it would be beneath her notice to have to resort to performing petty acts for revenge. If anything, she would want something grand, to show that she still possessed great power despite having lost it all in a matter of moments. Second, I'm certain Starlight, Twilight, or someone else would have magic safe guards in place that would uncover Chrysalis were she in disguise.

The minute you add changelings to the mix, you have a potential defense to ANY crime.  Eyewitness testimony, as bad as it already is, goes right out the window.

Of course mind control magic adds yet another layer to the mix.

Mind control magic, eh?  What if Chrysalis mind controls various ponies, making them think she did the crime?
